The motion sickness dot. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45298030/e1f4ad4c475104fd7f5e2a7fbf07ce401895727f.png We recently received a very helpful email from a fan pointing us to a helpful technique to reduce motion sickness - by adding a small dot in the center of the screen, it helps "ground" the players' eyes, which has been shown to reduce motion sickness (The user mentioned that they discovered it from Mirror's Edge) If you want to try it out, you can now enable it in the Settings Menu Minor changes - Added a minor note to users about motion sickness - Players can can no longer get stuck in cracks in warehouse - Fixed a bug where the last split in the speedrun timer didn't save What's next? Happy Blading - Stephen & The Isto teamPerformance ImprovementsJan 22, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsHi Everyone, First and foremost, thank you to everyone for picking up the game! It means the world to us. We've been hard at work improving the game, and slowly but surely working our way through our list of highly requested improvements. Performance Improvements Our biggest complaint was the loading hitches when transitioning between major sections (especially for the speedrunners with slower hard drives). - Improved Level Loading We greatly reducing loading "hitches" when transitioning between different levels. - Steadier Camera We fixed an issue where the character would "flicker" when on the ground. As it turns out, since the camera is set to follow the players orientation, this flickering makes the camera also feel jittery. By removing the characters jitter, the camera also feels more steady. Visual Fixes Along with Performance, we've been making minor adjustments to the visuals - Brightened up the colours and lights in the middle management section {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45298030/b2803345979c06229bae0a78a9aba55b29881e46.png -Fixed an issue where the character would flicker when in the air in the warehouse section -Fixed interview sign (which previously said "inverview") -Fixed the outer buildings sometimes having random black streaks {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45298030/9692520d9125769fa40381bfec968aee7c63e5bf.png -Made the restaurant in Junior Financial Analyst less shiny -Added a fog in the final secret section Bug Fixes - Fixed an issue where some players (Usually for players with very low frame rates) would fall through the slingshot - Fixed an issue where some players couldn't start the game (usually after a power outage) - Fixed a bug where the timer would reset after it hit 24hr - Fixed many grammar mistakes and aligned the text to match the V/O - Fixed a bug where exiting ragdoll mode would "fling" the player randomly both up and down - Fixed the OP-JumpPad skip - Made the fall to get the free hat much steeper so players cannot get stuck Other Minor Changes - Removed the speedrun competition banner - Reduced the noise when hitting some chairs in Middle Management What's next? - I've recently started working on a video summarizing the speedrun competition. - We may also explore upgrading our game engine to a new version to see if we can get any free performance boosts. - Will continue to fix minor bugs and make improvements across the game Thanks for all of the support! -Stephen & The Isto Team Hotfix - Some players couldn't start the gameJan 20, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsWe added a fix for players who had their gamestate corrupted (often due to a power-outage or computer crash). When player's got this error, clicking "load" and "new game" wouldn't do anything. The game will now recognize corrupted gamestates and rebuild their gamestate so players can resume their play. Speedrun Leg 3 WinnerDec 30, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsThe story so far We've been holding a 10 day speedrun competition with multiple legs, each with their own prizes Leg 1 had a time of 20:46 . Leg 1 covered the first 24 hours, and despite everyone learning the game for the first time, the winner, Kerem, emerged victorious with a time of 20:46, winning $500 CAD Leg 2 had a time of 14:50. Leg 2 allowed all glitches, and players took full advantage, with some wacky and wild skips and again, Kerem managed to barely clinch a victory, winning $700 CAD The Final Leg For this last run, we thought no one would get even close to 14 minutes, since it was glitchless! (which massively nerfed the run). This rules for this leg: No out of bounds skips, No op-ragdoll bug skips The frame rate was limited to between 60-45fps (We did allow what is called a "top-grab" skip, which happens when you grab the top of a slingshot). Do note that in this run, you will see players pause their game and change their frame rate. That was because they get more height on a lower frame rate on these top-grab skips. These are allowed! And let me say, the competition was fierce. Amongst over a hundred submissions, thousands of people playing the game, it was anyone's game to win. And the Winner is... We are so excited to present to you, the winning time of 11:28 by Kerem09 Kerem has managed to win a back-to-back-to-back, three-leg sweep! Not only was it an impressive feat, but he certainly earned it, playing over 160 hours over the 10 days. SPOILER WARNING: Just remember, this video contains SPOILERS! Details - This particular leg allowed any and all glitches (except for one particularly bad bug that we've since patched). - The winner of the first leg ran the game in 20:46, so this is a 5 minute improvement in just 2 days!!
