Genesis Alpha One lands on the Epic Store todayJan 29, 2019 - Rock, Paper, ShotgunGenesis Alpha One – a ship-building, space-exploring roguelike management FPS of mad ambition – is out now. One of the lesser-known exclusives snatched away from Steam for temporary Epic Store exclusivity, Radiation Blue’s game of ethically questionable (final) frontier survival has been on my radar for a while. Not only are you trying to maintain and expand a colony ship as it makes its way across space, but modify the DNA of your colonists as you discover new life. See the launch trailer below. (more…) Genesis Alpha One - Roguelike TrailerJan 23, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsHi everyone, We thought we’d share with you our latest trailer looking at the roguelike elements present in Genesis Alpha One. The clones effectively act as your lives. Run out of clones and it’s game over. When you die, you will carry over all the artefacts that you’ve unlocked in the previous run, meaning your chances at performing a Genesis should hopefully increase. We’ve also updated the discussions with a Steam release FAQ as a pinned post that we hope you find helpful. https://youtu.be/IPDRP_BtXEM Genesis Alpha One – Release UpdateDec 7, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsHi everyone, Some of you may have seen the announcement regarding Genesis Alpha One at The Game Awards last night but in case you missed it, you can find out more over on https://www.team17.com/genesis-alpha-one-prepares-for-launch-on-january-29th-2019/genesis-alpha-one/ You might be wondering what this announcement means for Steam users and we will be able to update you in the near future but we can confirm that Genesis Alpha One will not be launching on Steam on January 29th 2019. We understand that this will be frustrating to some of you who have supported the game since it was revealed, and we are extremely thankful for all your suggestions and feedback. The team are still hard at work putting together the final touches and incorporating some great new features into Genesis Alpha One and we hope you continue to be as excited as we are for it. At this time, we are making sure we put everything into realising our fullest vision of the game. As a result, we have suspended work on the playable preview. Again, we understand this might be disappointing, and this was a tough decision to make but we believe this will help Genesis Alpha One get off to the best possible start. Once the game launches, we may be able to reassess the playable preview later down the line. Thank you for your support, past, present and future and we hope to see you aboard the Genesis soon. The Magmanon – Making A SplashNov 30, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsHello everyone, You may have seen the Magmanon alien in our minigun clip so we just wanted to give you a little more information around this hostile species. Their mixture of rock and lava bodies means they can withstand quite a lot of damage, so upgraded guns or ensuring you have plenty of ammo will be key in taking them down quickly. https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/31987798/877711d3d459be5a00816a4f89630595f0d3c415.gif While the Magmanon’s fire rate is quite slow, its projectiles are powerful and can cause significant splash damage, so be on the move constantly when you come across them. https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/31987798/46005322727ccbd1cd29437995852c3f15ff6230.gif UntitledNov 28, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsMinigun FocusNov 27, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsHey all, There are many futuristic weapons at your disposal in Genesis Alpha One, but sometimes you just need a classic to get the job done – like the minigun. https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/31987798/14a35fd3975f7c025d178a9e9766a0b3bd520760.gif The minigun deals ballistic damage and utilises standard bullets that can be found at crash sites, dropped by downed foes or crafted with the necessary materials. The high rate of fire means it’s ideal for slower, more powerful hostiles. https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/31987798/e0fb893527f3a7212a22ddfc87664a8b99dd769f.gif However, its perpetually winding motion means you can fire in short bursts to crowd control a group of enemies. https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/31987798/46005322727ccbd1cd29437995852c3f15ff6230.gifHarvester TurretNov 23, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsHey everyone, A quick info log regarding the turret on your Harvester. It has a range confined to the immediate vicinity of your ship, venture beyond it and you're on your own - unless you have crew back-up or another turret to deploy of course! https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/31987798/71ac67eb2b94825f3db3f5b33481a713bacca53f.gif However, it can be an important tool when making planetary landings, if you play it right. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the alien threat on some higher level planets, a tactical retreat towards the Harvester means the turret can assist you in taking them down, giving you some respite to continue mining or searching crash sites. Either that or flee and live to fight another day! https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/31987798/46005322727ccbd1cd29437995852c3f15ff6230.gif UntitledNov 22, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsMeet The FramenNov 20, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsHi all, In Genesis Alpha One you will encounter a variety of lifeforms, from insectoids to humanoids, but one of the most intrusive enemies are the Framen. https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/31987798/c688fd095675bc1a3393b2856af28ca01e938dd1.gif These intergalactic foes will invade your vessel without knocking, stopping at nothing to destroy your ship and annihilate the crew. You can try to take them all out but it might be better to set the Hyperdrive and get away from their ship, picking off those who beamed aboard as they can be quite persistent! https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/31987798/46005322727ccbd1cd29437995852c3f15ff6230.gif Procedural Generation – Planetary LandingsNov 16, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsHello everyone, As many of you are aware, Genesis Alpha One utilises procedural generation meaning each playthrough will be unique. As such, I wanted to highlight a few in-game screenshots of some recent planetary landings. https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/31987798/5028a9b12244e9e3cf2b0d7f66a083911c516fbc.png https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/31987798/361947cb25c1fe6c564b9cbe2ca40324af968279.png https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/31987798/52a3ac8e93f94cdd63bd1ff3fbefe7d7548fd72a.png https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/31987798/d57d45244d1465311290b73d98bb8672cac2fd69.png There’s no telling what time of day, terrain or lifeforms you will come across so be prepared for any eventuality! https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/31987798/46005322727ccbd1cd29437995852c3f15ff6230.gif UntitledNov 15, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsGenesis Alpha One Gameplay Series – GrillmastahNov 14, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsHi all, For those of you looking for some in-depth gameplay, Grillmastah has continued to create some great Genesis Alpha One content over on his YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xr-7W8XlBAU Grillmastah also includes some hints and tips as well as purposefully letting things get a bit hectic. In essence, no reload mechanic is present. However, ammo is finite and like other resources on your ship, it will have to be created through the recovery of the appropriate materials. These can be obtained either through mining on alien planets or through materials harvested by your tractor beam. If you’re lucky, downed hostiles may drop some or a cache might be found at crash sites. https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/31987798/4057342f83137b3bb652eedd370faee1342fd49a.gif As soon as you have the resources, ammo can be created in the workshop and grabbed from the nearest weapon rack, either on your ship or on the Harvester while planet-side. Just make sure you check you have enough ammo before embarking on any exploratory journey, you don’t know what you will find out there! https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/31987798/46005322727ccbd1cd29437995852c3f15ff6230.gif
