FHM10 Update 10.5.59 Now AvailableJul 9, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsA few more annoying but easily-correctable issues became apparent after the previous 10.5.57 maintenance update, so we've done one more update. There are no changes to rosters or other related data. Your existing savegames will be compatible with the updated game, but some of the update's fixes may not retroactively correct certain problems in existing saves; this normally happens when the problem is inherent to data created at the start of the save. Changes: -multi-team relegation in custom leagues now works properly again -fixed formatting error for shot quality data in csv output -fixed potential error in boxscores when a filter had been activated for other screens -fixed possible possible Prospect Tournament crash due to a lack of goalies -using Drag & Drop to switch goalies during games now works correctly againFHM10 Update 10.5.57 Now AvailableMay 22, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsThere have been a few lingering issues reported following the 10.5.54 update that we felt were a little too serious to be left unfixed and could be corrected with minimal risk of causing new problems, so we've decided to release a late maintenance update to take care of them. The list of fixes is fairly short, but should clear up a few irritating problems. There are no changes to rosters or other related data. Your existing savegames will be compatible with the updated game, but some of the update's fixes may not retroactively correct certain problems in existing saves; this normally happens when the problem is inherent to data created at the start of the save. Changes: -fixed error that was causing some custom multi-level promotion/relegation setups to move promoted/relegated teams up or down multiple levels instead of just one -tournaments in some custom league setups will no longer keep adding an additional tournament section to the league menu after every season (and the excess menu entries will also be fixed in existing games) -fixed misalignment of columns after ROW on the standings screen in leagues leagues without conferences or divisions -fixed potential crash during USports playoffs if the user is controlling a team in them -USports standings will now appear correctly on the Sim screen when that league is selected -corrected error in the Class B bonus definitions that was leading to players requesting a bonus and then demanding it be changed because it was unachievable -added some additional credits information regarding Qt (required for a transition we're planning to make with FHM11, no gameplay effects yet) -minor text/typo correctionsFHM10 Update 10.5.54 Now AvailableApr 10, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsWelcome to the final update (barring any emergency fixes) for FHM10. Thanks to everyone who reported issues during the open beta. In addition to the post-trading deadline rosters, we've added a few new things and made a number of other fixes and changes. We're moving into the planning and design stages for FHM11 now; thank you for your ongoing support. Your existing savegames will be compatible with the updated game, but some of the update's fixes may not retroactively correct certain problems in existing saves; this normally happens when the problem is inherent to data created at the start of the save. New Features -the filter dialogs (used on player search, roster screens, etc.) have been rebuilt and now have Load, Save, and Save As options: "Save" sets the currently-loaded filters to be the default filter for the screen you're currently looking at - if you make changes and do not save them, they will only be used temporarily for the active screen and will be gone when you leave it. You can have different default filters for the roster view, the search screen, the free agent center, etc. "Save As" saves the currently-loaded filters to a file that can be loaded via the "Load" button, allowing you to swap between filters without having to re-enter all the information. Note that if you want to apply a filter to more than one screen, you'll need to load it for each additional screen, then save. The reset button, as before, will wipe all your currently-active filters clear and go back to the original defaults (but if you've changed the default filters by using Save, you'll need to save again after the reset to make the reset filter permanent) -World Cup changes: it's now held in 2027-28 (and every 4 years thereafter), no more North America/Europe teams, and presumably no Russia for the forseeable future, so Slovakia, Germany, and Switzerland fill the missing team spots; the start date has also been moved a little earlier, since it tended to finish too close to the beginning of the NHL season -csv export now exports player rights (for the leagues that use them only) -for the csv export function, if the user exporting is in control of a team, the exported player ratings will be those adjusted for the perception of their scouts; this can be switched via a new game setting to always show the unadjusted, real ratings (in the File Menu, Setup/Options screen - this requires that commissioner mode be active -head coaches and GM's will now improve over time (aside from the user-controlled GM/HC, which already did) -added Regulation Wins added to the standings screen -if the user changes a player's position manually (i.e. via right-click, change position) or the player gets a new primary position (due to reaching a 20 rating at a non-primary position), the player's template will now be adjusted to one appropriate for the new position (having the incorrect template was creating issues with things like contract negotiations, since the player would "think" he wa...FHM10 Update 10.4.46 Now AvailableFeb 25, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsThe third full update (and second content update) for FHM10, version 10.4.46, has just been released. This update is out a little later than we'd hoped for; a number of smaller delays combined to push us a bit off-schedule, our apologies. This time around, we've added new things in a several different areas, some of them relatively new (expanding on the media relations system) while others fulfill longstanding requests (enabling some editing for leagues, primarily European, that previously had all their editing options locked down) The promotion and relegation system in particular got some major changes; instead of being restricted to a two-league setup, you can now set up long chains of leagues with promotion/relegation systems. The late release has pushed into the time we'd had allotted for the final update, so that one is likely going to be out a bit farther past the NHL trading deadline (March 8 this year) than normal; most likely late March or possibly early April. Your existing savegames will be compatible with the updated game, but some of the update's fixes may not retroactively correct certain problems in existing saves; this normally happens when the problem is inherent to data created at the start of the save. New Features: 1. Added new Media Relations choices and results: the GM will now occasionally get the option to respond to media praise of a player, rather than just criticism player reaction to the GM's media handling is now more uncertain - depending on the player's (hidden) Handle Critics/Handle Failure/Handle Success ratings, he may respond as the GM hopes, but the more "difficult" players will have a higher chance of responding in a negative way, while other players are more likely to take criticism constructively instead of always being upset by it (this applies to postgame media commentary only, when responding to media critcism over an off-ice incident the player will still expect to be defended by the GM and will respond in the expected way if he is/isn't) 2. Added New Promotion and Relegation Options: the number of promoted/relegated teams can now be changed via a new option in the League Rules section for leagues with the "XXX Relegation League" league type: "Number Promoted"; options are 1, 2, or 3, but the maximum numbers is (number of teams in either the promotion or relegation league, whichever is lower/2, fractions rounded down) if the 2- or 3-team option is selected, then that number of teams are promoted to the higher league and relegated to the lower league, based on the following preferences: For relegation, 1) All non-playoff teams, in reverse order of the regular-season standings, then 2) All other teams except the league champion, in reverse order of the regular-season standings (i.e. impossible for a champion to be relegated, since a relegation setting can never be more than 50% of a league's number of teams); For promotion 1) The league champion 2) The remaining teams, in order of the regular-season standi...FHM10 Hotfix 10.3.43 Now AvailableJan 4, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsA new hotfix update for Franchise Hockey Manager 10, version 10.3.43, has just been released to fix some issues with the last game update (version 10.3.39.) Your existing savegames will be compatible with the updated game. Some of the fixes will only work on new games, but we believe This hotfix addresses a few issues with 10.3.39 that we didn't want to leave unfixed until the next full update in February, particularly the problem with some US leagues not being shown on the playable league setup screen, as well as some issues with foreign player limits for teams not native to the league's primary country. Changes: -fixed the unselectable US leagues during setup when making playable league choices -foreign player limits for teams not from main nation is now set properly for all leagues; additionally, that setting is now used correctly by the lineup popup warnings for human GM's, e.g. teams like Dinamo Minsk won't get it while they have >3 foreign players, but rather only when they have the correct >20 amount -clicking the history tab for the Div III Junior Championship no longer crashes the game -fixed some issues with the manager notes system that could cause a crash when selecting some notes and make other notes undeletable through the normal delete function -made a change to the Player data section of the boxscore that should hopefully fix the issue where some users could not see the player names - we're not sure this will be 100% effective for everyone, as there seems to be some variation between what our testers are seeing, but it does seem to work in most cases - if there are further issues, we'll follow up on this in the next update Finally, a note: I just discovered tonight that the change we made in the update to enable custom tournament editing seems to have also enabled editing for real tournaments (the Memorial Cup, Champions League, Spengler Cup, etc.) This wasn't intended, and we're going to have to disable it in the next update, as any editing of those tournaments will likely break them. Until then, be aware that any editing of those tournaments is going to have very unpredictable consequences; basically, don't do it if you want them to keep working.FHM10 Update 10.3.39 Now AvailableDec 20, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsThe second full update (and first content update) for FHM10, version 10.3.39, has just been released. This is the first update for FHM10 that adds new content: among other things, we've added a new playable league (Latvia), a number of new editing options for tournaments in custom mode, finally revisited the (very) old code that handles player nationality selection in standard games and got it to do some new things, and also reworked the language selection mechanics for generated players. I would've liked to have added a little more, but we ran into a bunch of technical issues (not directly related to the game) that cost us some time. So, it's likely that the later updates will work much like last year's did, being a lot heavier on new features. We have a pretty ambitious list of things we'd like to add to the game in the New Year. If there are any game-breaking issues discovered with this update, we'll release a hotfix ASAP; other wise the next one is likely to be in early February, followed by another one after the NHL trading deadline. Your existing savegames will be compatible with the updated game, but some of the update's fixes may not retroactively correct certain problems in existing saves; this normally happens when the problem is inherent to data created at the start of the save. New Features: Optibet Hokeja Liga is now playable in standard games; 9-team league with teams in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia Custom Tournaments have a number of new options: existing tournaments can be edited via a new Edit option on the league menu all of the selected tournament's data can now be edited (any existing history will be retained even if the format is changed) tournaments can be deactivated (any history and player stats will still be retained) changed the forced 2-team qualification from each group to an option for 1 or 2 teams (i.e., if 1 is selected, half as many teams make the playoff round so it starts one round farther along than normal) added 4 "Playoff Only" options to the "Number of Groups" list: "Playoff Only, 16 teams", "Playoff Only, 8 teams", "Playoff Only, 4 teams", "Playoff Only, 2 teams"; if one of these is chosen, there is no round-robin stage, and the tournament begins in the round appropriate to the number of teams (16=Ro16, 8=QF, 4=SF, 2=F) (using random seedings) added best-of-3 as an option for Number of Games in playoff round Did a long-overdue overhaul of the way nationalities are generated for new players in standard games: the process will now create much larger numbers of the more common real-life nationality combinations (e.g. Canada/US, Australia/NZ, Kazakhstan/Russia, etc.) instead of generating far too many second-nationality players for high-population but low-hockey prominence nations like Brazil it's now possible for the game to generate players from territories that normally can't get them like Åland, Puerto Rico, and St. Pierre et Miquelon (they're occasionally created as substitutes for players from the parent...FHM10 Update 10.2.35 Now AvailableNov 27, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsNotes: This is our first major update for FHM10, addressing issues that we weren't able to get to in the first-week hotfix as well as some that have come to light since then. There are no new features added yet; that will be coming as part of our first content update, which we're hoping to release shortly before Christmas. We've fixed a number of crashes; in most cases, the game will fix existing saves to avoid them, but if you have a standard game save that's crashing in early 2024-25, the problem may have already occurred and is past the point where an automatic correction can help, but we still may be able to fix it for you: let me know in our forum if that's the case. The database has been updated and the "Current" option is now the default; the playable league rosters are accurate as of last Monday, November 20. In addition to the new rosters, a number of reported data issues were fixed, we updated many player ratings, and added a large number of top prospects to the 2025-2028 NHL draft classes. Change List: -databases updated; current db is now available (and is the default starting option) -fixed potential draft-related crash in the first NHL season in games started in 1909 -fixed potential crash in the 1920 Olympics -fixed issue that could cause a non-tournament team to appear in the playoffs of a youth tournament, causing a crash -fixed potential crash during the CSV export -fixed potential crash when using Lines-Goalie Starts-Next Games to choose a goalie for tournament games -increased frequency of press criticism of players (and the GM's opportunity to respond to it) -fixed broken schedule data in the 1912-13 NHA season -added minimum/maximum age limit to July 1 league editing in custom and historical modes -the "Allow Transfers in Own League" setting is now editable in League-Edit -added scholarship limit, tuition cost, and academic reputation to the team edit screen -disabled the Team Deactivation, Team Activation, and League Activation historical editing options for the 1909-1916 period due to potential for breaking the NHA-NHL transition -strengthened the safety check in the Goalie Start System that avoids excessive starts by the backup -player responses to an off-ice incident by a teammate will no longer occasionally include the same player twice -fixed the "The Pinnacle" achievement (win Stanley Cup) appearing at random times during the year -changed the name of the future Phoenix Coyotes arena to "New Mesa Arena" -the "Defending Champion Qualified" option will now work properly in custom tournaments, instead of sometimes excluding the defending champion -the "Team With Potential Interest in Your Trading Block Players" view in team-trades/transfers-Needs will no longer show the user's own team in some of the lists -when using the "Start as Real GM" option in a standard game and choosing the Montreal Canadiens, the ratings of their GM will no longer all be set to default values instead of using the real ones from the database -re...FHM10 Hotfix 10.1.31 Now AvailableNov 10, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsA new hotfix update for Franchise Hockey Manager 10, version 10.1.31, has just been released to fix some issues with the release version (10.1.28) of the game. Your existing savegames will be compatible with the updated game. Some of the fixes will only work on new games, but we believe This hotfix addresses some critical issues that became evident after Tuesday's release, particularly a few situations that were causing crashes, as well as a small number of other fixes/changes we were able to make without risking additional complications. Barring any game-breaking issues becoming apparent, our next update will be in a couple of weeks and will address a much larger number of things, as well as including the first "Current" start option with updated rosters. If there are any critical problems found before then, we may need to do another hotfix. Changes: -fixed potential crash in imported custom leagues if certain data was missing for the league -fixed crash in multiplayer saves when a game is loaded with unplayed games on the day of loading -fixed second-season crash in standard games where user is in a league without a prospects tournament -fixed crash in international games if all players in a team's lineup weren't on the active roster on their regular club team -if a historical game is started before 1917 and the sponsorship system is active (which should turn off all entry drafts), when the NHL appears in 1917 it will no longer still have a draft (which crashes the game) -leagues that can't be edited in standard mode are no longer uneditable when they're imported in custom mode -changed future talent calculation for players aged 19-24, it had been giving them too much credit for unreached potential, even if they had no real hope of achieving it before they peaked (which was leading to odd draft results where 19-20 year old players were going much too high) -if no tournaments are scheduled in a month, Autoplaying to...Assign Scouts will no longer just sim past the 1st of the month, skipping Monthly Finances as well -on the trade Needs screen, the "Trading Block Players Matching Your Active Needs" dropdown no longer shows some players who don't fit the active needs -the "make this work" button no longer includes players with NTC/NMC when the trading partner isn't on the player's approved list of teams -the post-2004 restriction on prospects tournaments in historical games now works correctly -20-year-olds with future contracts with US college teams will no longer switch to that team in mid-season -on team-edit-team details, the "select" buttons on the colours section are no longer cut off on the Away side. -the F6 hotkey (league schedule) is working properly again -the first prospects tournament will now set player roles correctly rather than leaving most players set to screener -the tactics screen is no longer showing some players as bad fits on 5v3 tactical settings when they're OK on 4v3 for the same setting -adjusted eligibility for U-Sports ...
