This year has not gone as planned as dev has become a slow trickle due to non-dev related life stuff that I have to deal with, I initially thought I would be balancing the dev more and dedicate more time to getting out a larger update but it's currently going slowly. I wanted to make this post for a while but I haven't had the opportunity to sit down and type it out. That's mostly why this is less polished update than I would have liked to put out. Again, sorry about the mild delay before release. We were having some issues with uploads in regards to the easy mode implementation and thus had to settle with separating the game into two branches. Yeah, guys, we will have to call a delay on this one. Sorry to those excited for this to release, but we had to make the call as the publisher for MomoGames to delay this game to the 17th of November. After Steam's internal checks, we feel that this title isn't ready for the public and the last thing we want to do is join the massive list of ever-growing titles released unfinished and unprepared. We will need a bit more time to prepare this game in the standard you guys want. While we understand that the dev wanted to be festive and reach the Halloween period to release this title, we can't ship this title in its current state. CB, though, isn't the type to complain without offering solutions, and sometimes, using our resources is necessary to accomplish the task. Sorry for the delay in updating. It's been a busy few months but it's been productive! We have nailed down a possible release period and we're ready to share that with you all! We're currently looking at a release between Q4 2023 and Q1 2024 depending on how the next few months go. Our current trajectory means we're aiming for early Q4. We've built in a bit of buffer time into this period so you can expect us to make a more nailed down announcement within the next few months as we test and make sure the game is stable/not buggy and playable from beginning to end with no issues. We're stuffing the game with as much content as possible before release so look forward to a lot of fun scenes and loops :) This game has a lot of love in all aspects from art, animations, vfx and music! We're currently all working really hard, so I hope you'll forgive the lack of polish on this update. It feels like we're 'knee deep' in content right now and trying to finalise all these things takes a lot of energy. We're getting into the final stages of the project and the end is in sight, but still not close enough for us to announce a date. It's motivating to be at this point as we now just have a checklist of things to finish before we are comfortable announcing a release window. I'll get more into details below. Overall update Over the past few months we have been working on bosses/quests. These are really the last things we need to finish before we can release. The musician has reworked and polished some boss tracks since we have the time for it. VFX for bosses are also being given an extra polish and some bonus VFX added. It's looking great! The update is a bit sparse but really we just need to finish the quest animations, boss battles and polish up our levels to look prettier. We're going through each map to finalise them 1 by 1 and so any missing things that pop up during this process are being added as well. While this does seem straightforward it's very time consuming so please don't get too hyped yet about a release date announcement. We will announce our release date a few months in advance. Personally, we are celebrating Christmas and the team are taking a few days downtime to spend with their families. So, during the week of Christmas development will slow down, but will be picked up again the week after. This won't affect our progress, so please don't worry. Now into the actual update stuff. Development Update We have been working hard to hit internal goals, so far we've hit all of them except 1. We still have 3 bosses to finalise, but are rapidly approaching this point, so we feel our trajectory is doing well. Our next goal is to piece everything together and test, so we should be able to share a lot more in the New Year. Alongside this we are also trying to nail down our release date, we are not ready to announce yet but we want you to know that we are actively assessing our options as the game becomes a more final product. We were deep in development and honestly we were so engrossed in so many things we forgot how long it's been since the last one. Here's an update on progress. About 95% of all the enemy animations are finalised + polished (We have just a few small things until we're at 100%) By the end of the month all the player costume animations will be complete and polished, this months task was to try and finish all of those animations and we've made a lot of progress We've also made a chunk of progress on boss battles.. with next months goal being to complete them all. We are doing a pass on VFX to make things feel even better than before. We have some amazing VFX that make Boss Battles / Items feel much more powerful. Every quest scene is designed now and slowly being animated as we implement more of the quests. Music! We have bonus music because at this point all the major tracks we needed are done, so we're just adding more to specific areas and events to make the game even better. Implemented some new features that will make gameplay a lot more unique. These are 'small wins' that change gameplay significantly. I want to be clear that if we're not updating/tweeting it doesn't mean that things aren't happening, it just means we're super focused on development and moving things along. Thank you for your patience and understanding on that point. :) Progress is still happening consistently and we're working on a few different areas simultaneously. We have about 30-40% of the final scenes designed and being animated slowly and we expect this to speed up quite a bit in the next 2 months as we have some more time for development coming up. We did some small changes to the UI so it's a lot more user friendly and visually pleasing. While that was happening we are having a lot of conversations to finalise items and passive skills for the character. Most importantly, the team is still happy and motivated and we're all looking forward to sharing this game with you all as soon as we can. We also want to apologise since we no longer feel we can hit a Q2 release and we wanted to relay this information as soon as possible. First of all, the team is still happy, passionate and motivated to work on the game which we feel is the most important. There is nothing to worry about, we haven't had any major shocks or changes that are going to affect development. The major reason for this change is that we are currently implementing all the quests and scene content but these are taking a longer time than expected to do. We are looking at ways to speed up the process without affecting the quality. Another reason is that we just don't want to keep people in the dark and suddenly announce that we can't hit specific dates. So the next time we announce a release date it will 100% be the date you can expect it to come out. We feel that 'Coming Soon' reflects the game development more accurately now and that we are working on getting it released as soon as possible! We're in a weird position where we almost have a full playable game but still have to implement a lot of the H-Content and we want to give as much love to that part of the game as we did the gameplay aspects. Hopefully this will create a game that is a polished and enjoyable experience. We will continue being active here and doing periodic dev updates too as well as answering any questions that pop up. We'll be upfront and honest about our development process so if you do have concerns please let us know. Dev Update On top of this, we just want to do a small dev update on things that have been happening. We have finished animating all the enemies and bosses. They just need some polish before release to be considered 100% final. Level design has had a bit of a polish and we added some smaller details to make the world and atmosphere of the game feel better. We implemented a decent chunk of questlines and dialog from the first 3 areas of the game. We're just waiting for the scenes to finish being animated so we can implement them and finalise those quests. Gacha animations! These are just fun simple loops so we're not worried about producing a lot of these before release. We have almost all music tracks complete (We even added extra since we have time) and have started doing final SFX too. Development is going well, we are currently implementing all the Boss Battles and Quests. One of the fun features we implemented is a 'Gashapon' system. These are bonus animations you can unlock at any time, and you can choose which 'Theme' interests you most. For example Animal Girls Sexy Onis Tentacles We plan to update these machines post release as well with bonus quests/content for quite a long time! It's just a fun thing we thought would add some flavour to the game and a way to celebrate big milestones. Thank you to everyone who has shown interest in the game. We plan to update the steam page with more info asap and share more what you can expect gameplay wise. Game info A rough overview is that you play as a FlipWitch who can flip between male and female allowing you to interact with NPC's and quests in different ways. Alongside the main story (Worlds to explore, boss battles, dungeons etc) There is a puzzle solving element to find out how to unlock certain H-scenes by changing form and costumes and finding these NPC's in the world. We also have a main 'hub' area where a lot of quests can be found that you can pursue in your own time. The team has spent a decent amount of time making the gameplay and exploration feel fun and we hope that when we release everyone will enjoy what we have created.
