v1.5.5.2Oct 5, 2023 - Community Announcementsv1.5.5.2 has been released to the main branch with the following changes/fixes: The mortar and pestle alchemy talent has had its tooltip updated to clarify that it affects base cast speeds (before haste), and has been buffed to 5 seconds of cast time reduction per point. Fixed an issue where exiting the game while construction machines were still initializing could result in lost data or a corrupted save file. Added some safety checks to the item database to prevent potential cases where certain cached values could be null and cause errors. v1.5.5.1 BugfixesOct 1, 2023 - Community Announcementsv1.5.5.1 has been released as a quick bugfix update with the following fixes: You can no longer slot quick slot categories (accessed via the + icon by the action bar) into a macro (which previously resulted in the macro aborting at the ability cast). Fixed an issue with an invalid item ID to tier mapping pertaining to the gold item tier, causing some effects to fail under certain circumstances. V1.5.5 Update Release and End of Early AccessSep 26, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsVersion 1.5.5 has been released to the main branch! Ready on for a list of changes... End of Early Access The game has come a long way from its initial early access release over a year ago, and now I feel it is finally time to end early access. Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the early access release! Your continued feedback, testing, and support throughout this journey has been invaluable to me! I'm very excited to finally end early access, and am looking forward to what the future holds for this game while I continue to release more updates. Construction Machine Area Inspect You can now select an area of machines to perform group operations on them. Simply click on the group select button next to the build machine button and drag out a rectangular selection box. Current group operations supported are: delete, take all items, upgrade, move, group connect, and duplicate. Salvage Material Transmuting There is a new transmute tab on the salvage/upgrade window where you can transmute salvage materials. For example: You can turn 200 scrap and 25 proficium into 100 proficium, or up-convert quality based reagents with additional scrap into higher tiered quality reagents (doodads into dingbats, for example). There are currently a total of 46 different transmutation recipes available, so getting the specific salvage materials you need should be a bit easier now. New Item Tier and Higher RPM Effects This version adds a new item tier, Gold! The special effect of gold equipment gives you gold coins whenever you obtain a new item based on a percentage of the new item's value. There's 3 potions that have various wealth-related effects, too. Additionally, RPM effects now go up to 5 trillion RPM. Item Tier Level Rebalancing Item tiers (for example: stone, copper, iron, and so on) have had their respective skill level ranges adjusted. Previously there was a 10 level range (20 for Obsidian) for crafting/gathering abilities of a specific tier. This has been changed so that each tier now has a range of +5 over the last tier. Smaller Changes Fixed a number overflow issue with the amulet of decay that would cause it to increase RPM and not add gold under certain circumstances. The well rounded talent now also keeps track of the decimal value of the exp it should award, granting 1 exp when that amount goes over 1. No more lost exp due to rounding! Haggling exp now also keeps track of the decimal value of exp added, granting 1 exp when this value goes over 1. The beneficiary prestige talent is now marked as permanent. Various buffs added by talents should now correctly update their max stack size (or remove themselves completely if applicable) if points are removed from the talents that grant them. Fixed a crash/hang that could sometimes occur when max upgrading a specific stat on an item. Added journey objective and steam achievement for reaching gold tier blacksmithing. Added a notification icon that appears when you have new talents available.Early Access V1.4.5 UpdateAug 22, 2023 - Community Announcementsv1.4.5 has been released to the main branch with the following bug fixes and improvements: Added a button to sort auto fill sockets by their total stat amount. It should no longer be possible to move a construction machine into an invalid position if it was previously in a valid position the very last frame (this issue was particularly evident during times of low framerate). Items marked as new are no longer erroneously filtered on inventory sorting. It is no longer possible to place non-gem items into the autofill socket slots by dragging an autofill gem into an inventory slot with an item. Fixed "Any" stat filter average stat calculation. The construction machine interface now has better handling of culling of not-in-view machines, this should result in better performance when machines are not visible. Early Access V1.4.4 UpdateAug 6, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsEarly Access v1.4.4 has been released! Read on for a list of changes... New Journey System and Steam Achievements The journey system has been revamped... There are now a total of 97 journey objectives in a new layout, and some key objectives now award permanent effects in addition to the base exp they rewarded before. Each journey objective has its own Steam achievement too! Note: Loading a legacy save (one from before this update) may result in some notification spam at first pertaining to the journey steps that have already been completed. Inspecting and Upgrading Construction Machines You can now upgrade construction machines to make them process items faster. Simply right click (most) machines and choose "Inspect or Upgrade this Machine" to see the new machine upgrade UI. This UI shows maximum input/output rates, as well as lets you use materials to increase the machine's clock speed - effectively multiplying its efficiency. New Augments Two new Prestige augments have been added: Draught of Everlastence makes potions not drain duration for the next playthrough. Penchant for Building makes construction unlock at level 35 competency for the next playthrough. More RPM VFX Tiers Visual effect tiers for RPM up to 1 trillion have been added! As such, randomly generated RPM effects now activate after the 1 trillion mark. Balance Tuning Balance has been adjusted in several areas: The glorious amulet has had its power reduced by approximately 50%. Added 2 piece set bonus to The Lonely Ring, so you can no longer stack multiple of them for insane stat bonuses. The Optimizer meta talent point increase threshold has been reduced from 25 to 10. Haggling EXP awarded for vendor transactions has been reduced. Well rounded EXP per point is now 0.03% (down from 0.1%). Engineering EXP gains have been boosted by approximately 30%. Jewelcrafting now unlocks at level 10 mining. The Aura of Decay prestige augment has been rebalanced. Vendors are now gated behind unlocks (for example: the reagent vendor won't show up until you have unlocked alchemy), and a new "general store" vendor has been added. Smaller Changes and Bugfixes Your Steam status will now show your current RPM if you're in a game. Even more news ticker lines and vendor quotes have been added. Custom filters are no longer reset when you prestige (note: you still need to unlock the filters before they will become activated on your next playthrough). Some potions that were missing a potion tag have been fixed - they should now all work with the "Potion" item type filter. If an item has more than three tags, the tag icons will shrink to make them fit.Early Access v1.3.20Jun 26, 2023 - Community Announcementsv1.3.20 is out now on the main branch! Here's a list of changes: Added a new tab in the settings that enables setting up bindings (with optional modifiers) to quickly perform various actions on items. Several optimizations to increase FPS, especially in CPU-bound cases. You can now continue to build multiple of the same construction machine type by holding down shift while building. Added a new talent in construction that allows connections and item consumer machines to process stackable items in stack sizes of up to 2.5% of their max stack size per point. Added alchemy-related machines to construction for reagent gathering, ore grinding, and potion brewing. Fixed some potions not containing the correct crafted by proficiency attributes which made them not work properly with the researcher machine. Fixed brewmaster talent not correctly adding stats to potions when interacting with the orichalcium scaling effect. Fixed some cases where items could get tagged as both trash and favorite via filters and/or the auto tag as trash setting. Enabled machine connections to split a held stack at the endpoint and give the endpoint socket a partial stack to prevent a case where machines could get "jammed" under certain circumstances. Slightly adjusted machine connection item spacing to reduce overlap between the endpoint socket as well as the item packets themselves. Early Access v1.3.16Jun 9, 2023 - Community Announcementsv1.3.16 is out on the main branch with the following changes: Fixed upgraded gems reverting back to an un-upgraded state when socketed into items. Added settings option in UI settings to disable news ticker (which effectively hides all AI generated content as well).Early Access v1.3.15 BugfixesJun 5, 2023 - Community Announcementsv1.3.15 is out on the main branch with the following fixes: You can no longer place machines in invalid positions by moving them and then clicking both mouse buttons at once. Potion of the Mechamaniac will no longer cause machine time advancing to break under certain circumstances. Items bought from vendors will no longer be tested against the global item quality filter (the one in the gameplay settings).Early Access V1.3.14 UpdateMay 30, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsEarly Access v1.3.14 has been released! This update, which has been in development on the experimental branch, is now finally live on the main branch. Read on for a list of changes... Construction The new construction skill, which you unlock at level 70 competency, is all about creating machines to automate tasks for you. After unlocking construction, you can build machines in your active build area from within the new construction window... Machines you build will perform actions passively over time, such as mining/refining a desired ore. Machines can have inputs (on the top of them) and outputs (on the bottom) and you can either use your inventory to fill/empty these sockets or make connections between your machines (by right clicking on a given machine socket) to automate the process. As you level up construction you'll unlock more machines that do things like store items, convert items to gold/item proficiency XP/salvage materials, split or merge a machine connection, or filter items passed along a connection path based on one of your custom item filters. Construction has talents for things like increasing the build area size, reducing the time it takes to build machines or speeding up the rate at which your machines operate, as well as a meta talent which makes your machines passively accumulate operating time (up to 24 hours worth) when you exit the game and come back. New(s) Ticker, New RPM Tiers, New Items A *lot* of humorous new text lines have been added to the news ticker, with various new activation criteria. RPM effect tiers now exist for up to 200 billion RPM. There's also a new crafting material tier: Obsidian... It can be crafted into new gear, potions, jewelry, gems, etc. The obsidian armor special effect is particularly useful for the new construction skill, it makes all your machines advance through time whenever you cast an ability. A new heirloom item has been added: Bag of Expansion, which increases the max stack size of all items for every rank owned. Balance There have been a lot of changes to balance to address potential "snowballing" issues, and tone things down a bit to a more reasonable pace. Most notably, the meta talents "Gotta Go Fast" and "Money Can Buy You Anything" have been updated to scale with the order of magnitude of RPM/Gold instead of being a flat multiplier like they were previously. The potion of temporary excellence has had its base duration reduced to be more... temporary. Salvaging items now has diminishing returns when the salvaged materials from an item would result in a stack of materials greater than the max stack size of that material. Scrap has had its base stack size quadrupled, up to 1 million. Restoring a potion's duration with the potion of critical restoration now also slightly increases the potion's consumption rate. Changed the Omnipotent prestige talent to grant +50 to all stats per rank (up from +5). Changed brewmaster talent to now scale with the target crafted potion's proficiency. In...Early Access v1.2.15 UpdateFeb 6, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsEarly Access version 1.2.15 has been released! This update has been in development on the experimental branch, but is now finally live on the main branch. Read on for a list of changes. Salvaging The new Salvaging skill, which is unlocked at level 30 competency, allows you to break down just about any unwanted item into scrap materials. You can then use these materials to enhance your other items. Every item you salvage will give a base amount of Scrap, as well as secondary materials based on the item's other qualities (such as stats, quality, proficiency, and special effect magnitude). You can analyze any item to see what sort of materials you could get by scrapping it on the appropriate tab on the new Salvage window. To salvage items, mark the items you want to scrap as trash and then use one of the abilities in the Salvage skill to scrap 1, 5, or 10 at a time. Once you have scrap materials, you can use them in the item upgrade tab of the salvage window. Slot an upgradeable item in and you can see what sort of upgrades you can perform as well as the material cost. The cost increases as you perform further upgrades of the same type. The salvaging skill also comes with 6 regular talents and one meta talent in it's talent tree. Material Storage There is now a material storage tab on the bank/storage window... After putting at least one point into one of the storage talents in either Salvaging, Mining, Blacksmithing, Jewelcrafting, or Alchemy, you will be able to deposit relevant crafting materials into your storage via the "Deposit Materials" button on your inventory. When materials are stored in this way they won't take up precious inventory space, and they will be automatically consumed from your storage when you need them to craft items! There's also a new heirloom item that increases base material storage size by +1 stack for each heirloom rank owned, as well as a a gameplay setting (off by default) to auto deposit materials to your material storage, if possible. Help Website There is a new help website, accessible in-game via the new help window as well as in your browser at help.fidgetspinnerrpg.com. This site lists a bunch of information about the game in a searchable format, and since it's a website I can push updates to it without having to update the game files. New Socket Quality of Life Feature There is now a new "Socket Autofill Slots" tab in the equipment window. You can slot up to 75 gems here, and they will be automatically activated and deactivated depending on how many empty sockets you have on all your equipped gear. The auto socket slots will light up green to show which ones are active, and will act as if you are wearing a piece of gear with the appropriate gem when they are active. You can still use the old socket system too, of course, but this new feature helps alleviate the tedious issue of swapping out gems when you equip new items. Advanced Item Filters A new system for specifying custom item filters has been added to en...Early Access v1.1.14 BugfixNov 2, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsV1.1.14 is out now, which fixes a particularly nasty bug that could occur when selling to vendors: Fixed a number overflow issue caused by selling items with a very high combined value to vendors in a single action. Early Access V1.1.13 Bugfix UpdateOct 31, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsV1.1.13 is out now with the following bugfixes: You should no longer get an "inventory full" error in certain cases when receiving a stackable item with a stack size greater than the max stack size of 250. Added error checking incase the system settings or save files get corrupted or incorrectly modified... The game should no longer get stuck in a broken state if it has an issue with these files. The setting for toggling RPM floating text is now appropriately applied when the game is launched. Fixed a potential number overflow error in relation to journey step highest RPM progress that could result in a stuck cast bar when casting a spin ability in some cases. Early Access V1.1.12 UpdateOct 25, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsEarly Access version 1.1.12 has been released! This update, which has so far been playable only on the experimental branch, is now finally live on the main branch. Read on for a list of what is new! Prestige The main new content for version 1.1 is within the prestige system. Upon reaching level 100 competency, you'll unlock the ability to reset your progress for new rewards. Rewards for resetting this way come in 3 primary types: Prestige skill levels & talents, Heirlooms, and Augments. You earn EXP in the new prestige skill based on all your other skill levels when you reset your progress. With each level in this skill you'll get skill points to spend in the new prestige talent tree. Like other talents most prestige talents can be freely reallocated at any time, as long as they aren't marked as permanent. Prestige skill levels & exp are, naturally, not reset on subsequent prestiges. Heirlooms Whenever you prestige, all your gold will be deposited into your prestige bank, from which it can be used to buy heirlooms. Heirlooms are special items that give you bonuses that persist across all future prestiges. Owning multiples of the same heirloom will increase it's power and the cost of buying subsequent ranks of that heirloom, and heirlooms are never reset... Although there is an augment (see below) that can disable them temporarily. You can only buy heirlooms after a prestige, before starting your next playthrough. Any gold in your prestige bank you don't spend on heirlooms in a given prestige cycle will be saved for the next one. Augments Augments can be activated after prestiging to give bonus effects on your next playthrough. You will be able to activate a set number of augments based on the highest RPM you achieved in your previous playthrough. Augments are optional, and some of them have negative effects as well as positive... They only last for the very next playthrough. New Gear You can now, finally, craft gear out of tier 8 materials (Orichalcium)... Both with blacksmithing & jewelcrafting. Nine new potions, along with their accompanying ingredients, have been added from tier 5 (Adamantium) to tier 7 (Necromantium). Balance Due to the following balance changes, it is recommended to start with a new save file if you want to play through as intended... With that said, however, your old save files should still work just fine. Balance has been significantly adjusted across the board... In general, progression has been slowed down, and a lot of changes have been made to balance out the "snowballing" feedback-loop effect present in earlier builds. Meta talents have been adjusted, and now require more talent points for each individual level at certain thresholds. Vendor-crafted equippable items with proficiencies have had their maximum proficiency range reduced. Haggling and vendors now unlock at competency level 20 (10 levels earlier than before), for better early game pacing. Base inventory slot count has been increased to 20 (up from 10). Craft...Early Access V1.0.13 UpdateJun 10, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsThis update brings some fixes for a few pesky bugs, and some optimizations: Loading should be slightly faster & more performant, generating skill ability lists (which happens the first time you open a skill ability list) has been greatly sped-up, and macro loading has been made faster (resulting in a bit less stutter from first loading a save file). Fixed socketing items that are placed in general storage not having their socket contents updated properly. Fixed a number overflow issue in relation to the Mithril item special effect, which could potentially cause a feedback loop resulting in a large amount of exp earned in the haggling skill in some cases. Adjustments to haste cast speed calculation, particularly in relation to "Hasty" talent. Vendor buy prices should now never go negative at very high commerce stat values. Early Access V1.0.12 UpdateMay 17, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsThis update brings some fixes for the following bugs: Sell/Delete trash abilities in Engineering are now correctly accessible from the quick=bar. Fixed equipment stats sometimes getting out of sync when unequipping and re-equipping items via drag and drop, causing incorrect stat values. Fixed a rare case where ability automation could fail and corrupt your save file when automating a macro. Fixed an issue that sometimes made buff icons invisible. Early Access V1.0.11 UpdateMay 16, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsHere's the new stuff in patch v1.0.11: Fixed being able to create gems out of nothing with the Stoner talent. Ability automation for crafting gems should no longer get stuck when you have points in the Stoner talent. Fixed automation not properly randomizing ability cast parameters on every ability cast. Added Sell/Delete trash abilities to engineering. Early Access V1.0.9 UpdateMay 8, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsThe following changes have been made since 1.0.7 (1.0.8 didn't have a post as it was just a single small fix): The seizure warning dialog should now properly resize at extreme aspect ratios. Fixed an issue with some jewelry items "eating" the gem placed in their last socket slot upon closing the socket window. Added a few more performance optimizations, particularly in the area of queue slot pooling. Fixed an issue with two journey objectives that weren't listed properly on journey map. Fixed an issue with text clipping on automation mode window if resizing window then switching to ability automation. Fixed a number overflow issue that could cause reduced item quality rolls if your stats got too high. Fixed an issue with queue slots sometimes having an incorrect aspect ratio. Edit: 1.0.9.1 is now out too... This minor update should apply the socket fix from 1.0.9 to items made prior to 1.0.9.Early Access V1.0.7 UpdateMay 7, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsThe following changes have been made: Fixed an issue where an item's inventory icon could display the wrong quality tier border upon first receiving that item, resulting in a conflict between the tooltip quality and the icon's quality. Disabled UI input handling on a lot of things that didn't need it (such as text, static images, etc.) to further improve UI performance. Popup error messages are now shown from a small pool instead of created and destroyed on demand. Switching between tabs on the macro/automation window should cause less lag now. Early Access V1.0.6 UpdateMay 6, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsThe following performance boosting updates have been added: Fixed an issue with buff instance icons not being disposed of properly, leading to performance dropping over time. The Deep Mind talent has been reworked a bit, now giving +5 to +35 (depending on rest ability tier) in all stats upon using a resting ability, lasting for 5 seconds per talent point, and stacking up to 250. The primary reason for this change is that, with the way the buff previously worked it caused severe slowdowns when there were 100+ (hidden) instances of it active at once (as each individual instance had to monitor it's own duration, stat bonus, etc). Now it only takes up a single buff instance. Early Access v1.0.5 UpdateMay 6, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsA few small fixes in this one: Vendor nameplates are now properly recycled instead of creating a whole new one when needed. Fixed an error when dragging an unequippable item over an equipment slot. Ability automation mode should now correctly figure out the steps required to make Elementium items.
