We fixed a range of issues connected to the freezing followers bug. Followers should no longer freeze to death, provided you have enough firewood stashed in your refuge. Spoken in game terms: If there is enough firewood, then barrels continue to burn and your followers now move their butts to the fires when they are freezing. Like normal people. Once you load the latest update for Fade to Silence on Steam, the Followers that have previously vanished should be back in your camp! Please note that this is only true if you have not started a new game since they vanished! Additionally, we have identified and fixed another rare crash that happened during construction of your base. Thanks to some snitches, we were also able to rebalance a wood crafting issue. We are going to release a hotfix today that addresses the issue with the disappearing followers. This time it’s a proper fix so that this issue should be a thing of the past. A follow-up hotfix that is planned for tomorrow will then try to repair the save games of anyone affected by this bug and bring all followers back. If you have lost followers, please do not start a new game just yet. Chances are very high that we will be able to bring them back in tomorrow’s hotfix. Thanks for playing Fade to Silence. This hotfix is numbered 3b because hotfix 3, which was published to the experimental branch on Friday, was a workaround to mitigate the effects of the dissapearing follower bug and is now obsolete.Fade To Silence - Hotfix 2May 3, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsSurvivors. We today released Hotfix 2 that should resolve Phys-X-related crashes which is the the overwhelming majority of the recent crashes, thanks to our partners. With Hotfix 1 and Hotfix 2 now released, there should be a noticeable decrease in unexpected quits. There is one more crash cause we identified and that we are currently working on. As soon as we have a solution for that, we will release another patch for Fade to Silence. However, with the Hotfix we ran in to issues with coop connection. If you experience those, please clear your steam cache (How to: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3134-TIAL-4638 ). This should solve the connectivity problem. In case it does not, however, please check if both the Steam and GOG clients running at the same time. There should only one platform running at the same time. The last resort to solve this issue would be to restart Steam and then verify the integrity of your game files in the game settings. We heard you and we have been working hard to fix the issues you have with Fade to Silence, especially the crashes. Hotfixes. We today released a Hotfix 1 that should solve the map- and sled-related crashes. Thanks to your crash logs and crash reports we were able to identify another possible crash cause. While this one will not be fixed in Hotfix 1, there is another hotfix in the works which will be released soon. For this fix, we will need your assistance since it’s not easy to replicate or even test the fix. We will publish another statement with more information on this soon. Connection Issues We also have a possible solution for the connection errors that some of you experience when they want to start a Co-op session. The reason for these issues is most likely resulting from router configurations and/or antivirus or firewall settings on the individual computers. The solution to the connection issues is simple. You need to open the following ports on your PC or router to enable communication between Host and Guest computers. 61110 to 61119 30000 to 30009 It may be the case that your co-op partners have to do the same. On information on how to open ports on your machine, please check with the manufacturer handbook of your router, antivirus or firewall. We hope you are as excited as we are for the full launch of Fade to Silence on April 30th when you finally get to experience the whole story of Ash! In preparation for the launch, we just pushed a tiny update to Steam. In case you have previously fiddled around with your game files (yes, you, I'm looking at you!), you may encounter an issue that prevents you from starting the game. In that case, take these steps to resolve the situation: Go to your Library of Installed Games Right-Click on Fade to Silence Click Properties at the bottom of the pop-up Navigate to the "Local Files" tab in the Properties Window Click on "Verify Integrity Of Game Files" You should now be able to start the game up as usual. New Content and Features in the Release Version Experience the final story line, telling the history of Ash, his daughter Alice and the apocalypse that befell the world. Players will find out how it all came to pass, who is responsible for the eternal winter, and what role the entity, known as Inner Voice, holds in all of this. The story will be told in dream sequences. Whenever Ash is resting there is a chance for him to experience mysterious dream snippets in which the story unfolds. We have completely overhauled the tutorial phase in the beginning of the game. Fade To Silence is a complex game that needs explanation, especially for first-time players. So the reworked tutorials offer players a streamlined pacing, and safer learning spaces where they can learn the mechanics of the game. In the new survival book, you can look-up game and survival mechanics. This is a new feature that helps you to better familiarize yourselves with the game. As new mechanics are introduced, an entry will be added to the survival book which you can look-up at any time in the game. Access the dream gallery to watch the unlocked dream sequences in chronological order. The dream sequences are broken down cut-scenes and appear in a random order. To enable you to revisit your dreams, and experience them in chronological order, each unlocked dream sequence is displayed in a dedicated gallery. Enjoy new and reworked “quality of life” features. Our designers reworked the UI and HUD to improve accessibility and clarity, improved the game economy and overall balancing. In addition, the combat system will be fairer and more responsive.
