Have You Played Event[0]?Mar 27, 2017 - Rock, Paper, ShotgunHave You Played? is an endless stream of game retrospectives. One a day, every day of the year, perhaps for all time. Event was, I fear, a little bit overlooked, partly because of an unwise name and partly because speculating entirely here many of us find it too hard to take the concept of chatting to a machine at face value. We know how often Amazon Echos and Apple Siris get it wrong; how could a videogame possibly get it right? When it did, it really did. … Some good news...Jan 10, 2017 - Community AnnouncementsHappy new year, astronauts! We wish you the best for this new year, and let’s start with good news. First of all, the MacOS version is fixed, which means you won’t have an infinite loading anymore if you play on Mac. Once again, we really apologize for this issue and the time we took to handle it. As you may know, our team got even smaller since the release of the game. By smaller, we mean two guys with full time jobs, supporting Event on their free time from their couch. But now it’s done, and we hope every Mac user will enjoy their experience across the Nautilus! Second good news, the OST of Event is now out! It includes the emblematic “Hey Judy” by the talented Julie Robert and Camille Giraudeau, but also remixed and exclusive tracks which make you feel again the spooky mood of the Nautilus. We cannot wait to hear about what you think of it! And last but not the least, Event was nominated for Excellence in Narrative, Excellence in Design and Grand Prize at IGF. We are so surprised and so honored at the same time! This is a huge achievement which comes after a long and exhausting journey. Results will be pronounced in March, the 1st. See you there! In conclusion, we would like to thank you for all your support and your love. We know we may look a bit distant, sometimes even silent, but we read everything you say about the game, and this is probably our best reward after all these years of work. We couldn’t have expected better players than you! Kaizen is proud of you all. Best wishes, Ocelot SocietySome good news...Jan 10, 2017 - Community AnnouncementsHappy new year, astronauts! From my festering chair in the retirement home, I will stave off loneliness by holding convincing conversations with Google Deep Mind or AppleSoft Siri or Sony Zangief or Trumpatron 3000 Gold. A videogame in which I converse with a rudimentary AI that can only really offer canned responses to keywords? Might as well play Space Invaders. Even so, lost in spacey / chatbot adventure Event has very clever tricks up its sleeve, and hints of where videogame conversation might or should one day go. Its tinman has a heart. … Chat With A Wonky AI: Event[0] Blasts Off In SeptemberJul 13, 2016 - Rock, Paper, Shotgun
