Chinese Language Added! 中文版更新!May 31, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsHey guys, a bunch of fans have translated Epic Battle Fantasy 3 and Epic Battle Fantasy Collection into Simplified Chinese. If you're interested in playing these versions of the games, you can opt-into them in the Steam Client's "Betas" menu. I was not involved in this project, but there are a LOT of Chinese users on Steam, so I'm happy to include this version here. (After the USA, EBF5 has more fans in China than anywhere else!) The same team is currently working on translating Epic Battle Fantasy 4, which will also be available on Steam as a Beta option. Added 3 handicap options to Bullet Heaven: 2x Foe Damage, 33% More Foe HP, and Speed Up Game. (this is essentially hard mode, best experienced in a new save file) Added the S+ and S++ ranks to Bullet Heaven, which require playing with two or three handicaps. (there are no achievements for this) Optimized the code in Bullet Heaven a little bit. Not sure how much it helps. Added an experimental "Alternative Rendering" option to Bullet Heaven. (might help if the game is running very poorly, but in most cases it will probably make performance worse) Optimized the code in Adventure Story somewhat, but didn't find anything seriously wrong. Fixed Adventure Story crashing if it can't create save data. Fixed Medal pop-ups occasionally being stuck on-screen in Cat Cafe. Fixed not being able to delete the new EBF2 achievements in the launcher. If Bullet Heaven and Adventure Story are running poorly for you, I'd appreciate some feedback on the following: Which parts of the games run slowly? Does restarting the game help? Does lowering the Window/Fullscreen resolution help? Does lowering the Quality/anti-aliasing and other graphics settings help? I'm currently not sure if there's a memory leak, or if it's some specific animations that are causing issues - the more information you can give me, the better. Thanks for playing!Version 1.8 = New PrototypesJun 14, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsHere's what's been added in version 1.8: Added the NPC Maker tools from EBF3, EBF4 and EBF5 to the Prototypes section (more dress-up games, essentially) Added the EBF5 Battle Demo to the Prototypes section (this has a LOT of content, including every skill and non-boss enemy from the original version of EBF5) Added 6 Steam trading cards and other community items (these are still awaiting approval, but should be live in a couple of days) Added a "Wallpapers" folder to the installation folder, with 7 wallpapers based on the trading cards Added a check on startup for a corrupted Options.meow file, which fixes some rare problems What I plan to do soon: Optimize performance in Bullet Heaven and Adventure Story Fix a few more minor bugs in various gamesVersion 1.7 = New stuff for EBF2Jun 8, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsHere's what's new in version 1.7: Optimized some laggy animations in EBF1, especially the final boss and glowing swords. Optimized some laggy animations in EBF2, especially the Spirit foes and glowing swords. Fixed a bug in EBF2 where the right difficulty was not set in the minigames selection. (making getting the medals impossible in some cases) Tried to fix possible Hydra softlock in EBF2, not sure if successful. Added the Epic+, Epic++, and Epic+++ Difficulty options to EBF2, for people who want to suffer. (no achievements for these) Added the Physical Tank, Magic Tank, Careful Offence, Holy Quake, Giga Cleaver, The Plague, Solar Flare and Scholar upgrades to EBF2. Gave Matt the Sniper upgrade that Natalie has, and buffed the effect of the Berzerker and Ready Edge upgrades. Added 7 new achievements to EBF2. Fixed a few achievement descriptions on Steam - they didn't mention which game they're from. Fixed a few minor typos. Stuff I will try to do soon: Steam trading cards. Optimize performance in Adventure Story and Bullet Heaven. Add more prototypes, like the NPC builders.Version 1.5 + 1.6 = Bug FixesJun 1, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsHere's a list of changes in version 1.6: Fixed survival mode in Bullet Heaven. (I broke it in version 1.5) Fixed the softlock on menu transitions in Cat Cafe. Fixed the screenshot cropping in Cat Cafe. Minor text changes in launcher. Here's a list of changes in version 1.5: Mecha Dress Up: Added 14 more backgrounds from other EBF games. Brawl Royale: Removed "Beta" label. The Kitten Game: Added score requirements for each trophy at the start of each level. Added trophy info to the Lvl Select menu. Removed a couple of laggy glow effects. Made levels 8, 14 and 28 slightly easier. Epic Battle Fantasy 1 & 2: Added an option to quit battle and return to the main menu. Reduced menu-related lag. Epic Battle Fantasy 1: Reduced Crab and Eyeball related lag. Fixed "Hand Bomb" typo in 2nd shop. Epic Battle Fantasy 2: Fixed the art gallery not being unlocked after beating the game. Fixed some skill descriptions not fitting in the text box. Bullet Heaven: Tried to reduce lag with some simple optimizations. Hope it helps. Set "Bullet Glow" option to off by default. Adventure Story: Fixed the bug where you spawn in the ground when a level starts. Fixed the bug where you can get stuck in the ground if you land on a platform edge. (or at least I've made it more unlikely) Cat Cafe: Nothing. Misc: Fixed the name and description of the "Beast Master" achievement on Steam. Please keep reporting problems on the EBF Discord or on the Steam community forums, and let me know if any of these changes has helped you. The more information you can add the better - I'm gonna keep looking for ways to improve performance, and will consider some more Quality-of-Life features and other reasonable requests.
