Emberheart

Upcoming patch & G.Round playtest informationSep 27, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsLast month has been incredibly exciting, seeing the new patch come together. Today we want to share some info about what is coming soon in the realm of Emberheart. First of all, the new patch is nearly ready. The good news is, that you can play it very soon. On 30th September 2021 the patch will hit the G.Round platform. You can playtest the upcoming huge patch for free for 2 weeks. So if you register on G.Round, you can participate in the test for free and provide valuable feedback to us developers that will shape the future of the game! And if you fill out the survey you'll get G.Points with which you can purchase gaming gear! After the initial feedback from G.Round playtesters we will get to work on the provided feedback and prepare the final patch to go live on Steam! This will be around 1st November! We hope to have as many people as possible to participate in the playtest on G.Round so we can make sure the quality of the game is as polished as possible when we release the patch on Steam! The new patch will include: - All 6 playable classes - 3 Acts of content - Area objectives and rewards - All new unique legendary items and armor sets - We did a complete balance overhaul for the entire game - improvements to combat - Quality of life changes - Bugfixes - User Interface overhaul - Improvements to graphics - Improvements to performance What the patch doesn't include (yet) - controller support - multiplayer Some things that got scrapped compared to last version: - Crafting system (will get overhauled in the near future) - Adventure tree in the passive skill tree - Legendary stats on items (magic find, gold find, exp gained etc.. Although they are still there and they increase with higher difficulties, we found that adding those on items unbalanced the game) One last note: In our last post we said that the game will be split up into Emberheart and Emberheart Prologue. This is no longer going to happen. We will focus on 1 version and stick with it, even after full release we plan to make DLC's or free patches and stuff like costumes and weapon skins (most likely without microtransactions) In the end we found that making 2 versions would divide our focus to make a quality game plus it would have been strange to have to pay for 2 games even if the concept of both games was the same. With that we hope you are fully informed with our plans and we are excited to see people finally play what we have been cooking. We hope to see as many of you as possible on the G.Round platform so we have good feedback to work towards the patch release on Steam! Have a great time and stay safe! Rebel Camp Games team Emberheart and Emberheart Prologue - Plans going forwardJul 13, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsFirst of all, I want to thank everyone for their patience while I continue to work on my passion projects. Long overdue, but so it's time for an update on my plans going forward. I have gone through a rough period, working on Emberheart on and off, but I always kept going towards my goal to have a finished game even if I felt burnt out for a while. And that first finished game is coming closer to release, even though I realize there is still plenty of work left to do to finish the last bits, balance the game and polish everything the best I can. So, what are the plans moving forward? The game will be split up in 2 versions which we have both been working on. First of all, the current game on Steam will be renamed to "Emberheart: Prologue". This will be the game as it was, but with some new features and the last areas to explore and all 6 playable classes. The Prologue will be the game that is made by a solo developer. Some features we promised were too big for a solo developer so I rolled back the project to an older version that I could finish with full content as a solo developer. So we split up the project from that point. Secondly, I will make a new Steam page for the game called "Emberheart". This will be an improved and reworked version of the game, with a lot of features that a solo developer can't do all by himself. I've had some help from a few people + freelancers, and we have a nearly finished demo to go to publishers with and possibly do a kickstarter campaign. It was important to recognize that my ambitions were too big for a solo developer. So now I can focus on finishing a game (the Prologue) while I can keep my ambitions for Emberheart the full and reworked game. I had to cut some features from the Prologue, both existing features and features that we promised in the last news post. Most of those features will still be made in the full Emberheart game though. What the PROLOGUE includes and doesn't include: - Singleplayer only - 6 playable classes with fixed costumes but changeable weapons - 4 acts of explorable areas - Exploration objectives system so you have a reason to stay in areas longer or return there. - End-game systems - We cut out the crafting system because it was not balanced and didn't feel as "fun" as we wanted it to be - We cut out the Adventure Skill Tree in the Passive skill trees, because it unbalanced the game very badly - We also got rid of Legendary stats on items (Magic find, gold find, experience gained etc..) because they unbalanced the game. - No full controller support - No graphics overhaul - No User Interface overhaul What we aim to have included in the full "Emberheart" reworked game. - Multiplayer - Controller support - Graphics overhaul for a part of the levels - User Interface rework - Male + Female custom characters and visually equipable armor - Reworked skill system to have skill trees with allocatable points - Crafting system rework - We are playing with enabling dual classes, but can't confirm ...We are working on a huge updateFeb 1, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsHi everyone! I want to share a little update on what's going on behind the scenes with Emberheart! We are heavily working on the next patch and here's some of the features we have been working on: - Multiplayer - Controller support - Better weapon system (visually equipping weapons on character and making more weapon types available for more playable classes, also 2 handed weapons and dual wielding will be included) - Cosmetics system (wings, weapon skins, character costumes) - The Last 2 playable classes (Bear Shaman and Stalker) - Graphics overhaul for some levels and the main menu screen. - New User Interface - Lots of bugfixes and performance optimization We can't promise that all of these features will make it in the patch, but that's what we're aiming for at least. The next patch will be huge and bigger than anything we have done before! So keep an eye out for it! Unfortunately we don't have an official release date to share. It will be done when it's done. Stay safe and keep hacking and slashing!Update v0.1.2a patch notesNov 1, 2020 - Community Announcementsv0.1.2a patch notes: - Enchantress class is now available - Mercenaries now have skills, auras and curses and implemented the first 2 mercenaries: Larzo the lightbringer and Lothaku the Berserker - Decreased enemy and summon health plates size and made the empty background black instead of light gray - You can now Dismiss your Mercenary - Implemented new sound effects for elite monster affix skills, boss sounds, lightbringer and gravedigger skills, some general UI sounds and monster attack sounds - Reworked Act 1 in preparation to add more story through a dialogue system - Added more zones for Act 2, there is no story or quests yet though - Added and updated some missing or wrong minimaps and added ones for new levelsv0.1.1a Patch NotesOct 17, 2020 - Community Announcementsv0.1.1a Patch Notes - Added a new Mercenary System with a first mercenary. It was intended for testing but somehow went into the Steam build - Repositioned the plus icons that you get when you have attributes or passive skill points to spend - Made a lot of hitboxes on Monsters bigger - Rebalanced amount and values of affixes that roll on items. 1) Uncommon items roll with 2 affixes that have double the amount. This to make them compete with rare items 2) Rare items now roll with 4 affixes instead of 3. This to make them similar in strength as uncommon items. 3) Random legendary items now roll with 5 affixes. This to make them the same in strength as unique legendary items. 4) Set items now roll with 4 affixes instead of 3. This to make them comparable in power as legendaries (1 less affix because you get a lot of attributes from 3 piece set bonus) 5) Normal white items still roll without affixes and with 2 possible sockets while other quality items roll with max 1 socket. This to make them the only useful items to make gemwords - Added more stats to the character panel that were missing like knockback %, slow %, Stun %, Minion Damage, Damage Reduction etc... - Made Myriam's Magic shield aura give flat +20 to all resistances instead of 25% increased resistance. This to make it more viable option for low level characters - Fixed a bug where Damage Reflect % from item affixes didnt work - Fixed a bug where damage taken floating number didnt display - Protection Rating now includes Reduced damage from Legendary powers or 8 piece set bonus - Attack rating now includes Increased damage from Legendary powers or 8 piece set bonus and Total Damage affix on items - Improved summoned creatures AI - Auras and summons now save/load and stay active after level switchingFree demo is now available!Oct 7, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsIn case you're not yet convinced to pick up the game, there's now a free demo available with limited features. Limitations: - Max level 40 instead of 70 - Only 1 act available to play - Only the Berserker class is available to play - Pre-Endgame and Endgame content is disabled - Can only collect Legendary items from 2 brackets instead of 4 - Elite and Hardcore modes are disabled Overall this demo should give you a good feel for what you can expect in the Early Access version. Emberheart Released on Steam Early Access! + RoadmapSep 30, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsIt's finally that time where we can say Emberheart has been released on Steam Early Access! Leveling feels fast, combat starts to feel more and more responsive and the passive skill tree has almost been finalized. We are so excited to finally see people play the game. It is our intention to listen to player feedback carefully and shape up the game based on that feedback, your voice matters, so feel free to hop in the Discord and join the community in their discussions!
