Elements II Hearts of Light

Episode 4 Update!Apr 25, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsThe rest of Episode 4 is finished. As I said, it includes the next couple of areas, as well as Raya's Combos and new Party House scenes (depending on the house you picked, of course). I'm always making miscellaneous little changes, adjusting the power of skills and so on. So this list may not be absolutely complete, but it's something: - Wide Strike was weakened with the first release of Episode 4, but I neglected to note it. Also weakened Fan Wind and Lavish Spender (though I'm not sure anyone would be leveled high enough to have that yet). - Forgot to note last time, a couple more tile passability errors were fixed. I feel like a bonehead whenever I find them, be assured. - Jazzed up the World Map screen a little bit. - Vanguard and Taunt didn't work very well. Now they do. - Made Garima a little better against regular enemies. - Gravity Surge was supposed to create a weakness to Earth for all enemies, but it had no effect on those who completely resisted Earth (it still did zero damage). This has been changed so that those enemies now can be damaged by Earth, and Gravity Surge increases Earth-based damage for them as it always did for others. - Reduced the damage incurred by walking in lava and poison. Because there's going to be more of that very soon. :) - The system I'd set up for captured monsters' stats resulted in many of them having the same starting values. I've modified this so there's more distinction between them. - Luna Power and Luna Guard subtracted too much from Lala's FP if Elwyn initiated them. This is because I changed their cost early on, but forgot to retrofit the case for FP subtraction if Lala isn't the initiator. In any case, they've been fixed. - Here's a funny little oversight I caught. If you initiate a Combo and one of the other participants is blind, the Combo fails; but blinded characters could initiate Combos themselves. I changed this so that blind status locks Combos altogether. - Caught another loophole for triple and quadruple Combos that allowed them to be used without the proper FP requirements. Please enjoy, and I hope that you'll look forward to Episode 5 with me! Love, JeremyEpisode 4 of Elements II: Hearts of Light has landed!Jan 22, 2018 - Community Announcements*Hallelujah chorus* It's here. The Party House. Monster capture. The freedom of the sea. All you gotta do is get that ship (good luck, btw). So what are you waiting for? :P Good news! There were no exclusions per the recruitable monsters, unlike I projected. The bad news: some of the default names I came up with are super corny. Feel free to change them as you see fit! ^_^ What else is new? The usual fine adjustments, too many to list. There are now 49 achievements as well, and we ain't done yet. A few of the old achievements also have new icons, giving them a little more personality. Ep4-2 will add three more, bringing the game up to speed with the original in that regard. But the final game will probably have double that much. Some other important changes: I've continued to have problems with EF degeneration, so I finally added another filter within the Attribute system (for HP, too). Hopefully, it should make things a bit more stable; but you shouldn't be rewarded for being a thief, or for using thieves in your party... even though I like Elwyn and Lala a lot. :( Fixed the animations for multi-target weapons like the Flying Disc, Toy Top, and Starfish Disc; they no longer repeat for each enemy. Added a new option: Theft Alert. So you can know when you're being bad. Changed the Starlight combo; its effect now lasts five turns and it completely protects you from critical hits (trust me, you'll need it soon enough). Elwyn, Lala, Lance, Hiram, and Ananda now start with higher stats to make them more viable for combat when you first get them. This update is automatic for people who recruit them after the release of Episode 4, but for those who already have them, these characters will receive their increased stats when you cross the threshold of Episode 4. Powered up Maire's exclusive weapons, hopefully making them more useful. The Tailor now tells you where you can find the various items she can modify. Weakened Lala's Sonic Boom and Rushing Wind. I put it off for a long time, but I knew it had to be done eventually. They're still pretty strong... just not completely insane. Also weakened the healing combos Miracle Aura and Moonlight. I thought about this one some time ago, but wasn't sure... however, it makes perfect sense. Attack skills conferred by Rune Shards now grow stronger with each use. The "integration level" is essentially an additive to the spell's power. Some might have expected this to be the case all along... well, now it really is! As a thank-you to players who have supported the game's development thus far, you'll receive a special accessory called the "Attribute Pardon" upon entering Episode 4. This very special item will cancel out the negative attributes of the character who equips it. You'll only receive it if your save file was created before the release of Episode 4. NOTICE: This is, for all intents and purposes, "Episode 4-1". It introduces a lot of fun new features, and I was very eager to get it finished and released. Howe...Episode 3 of Elements II: Hearts of Light is here!Apr 4, 2017 - Community AnnouncementsHere we are at Cambria! Changes to note: - Boss HP was erroneously capped at 9999, even though it said otherwise. This bug has been fixed, and both Tiergan's and the Star-Crossed Sorcerer's HP has been adjusted (as those battles were hellish enough even without the high HP they were supposed to have). - I perceived that the Amity bonus for Friendships and Attributes was a bit much, so I lessened it. This had the effect of slowing the rate of increase for Friendships and Attributes (as well as Combo learning and statistical increase as a result),thereby considerably altering the balance in Winstar and onward. Thus, I modified parts of the guide with new strategy to accommodate. Your current stats, combos, friendships, and attributes will not be affected, but you'll really notice the difference if you decide to replay the game from the beginning of Winstar (if you didn't already become overpowered hunting for those Elemental/Sluggard drops back in Alavon, that is). - The Enemy Encyclopedia has been overhauled. It now contains information on enemy types and weaknesses, as well as what days they appear on, if they can be captured, and what skills they can teach Lala (if any). As a result, the Enemy Type Index has been removed from the guide. Press the confirmation button/key ("Enter" on the keyboard) to cycle through the different pages. And yes... I entered all the extra information manually for each and every enemy! So... please appreciate it. ^_^ - There are now achievements for encyclopedia completion. They can be unlocked by checking the Enemy Encyclopedia once you've defeated the required number of enemies. The game checks for completion upon closing the encyclopedia, not before. - The various achievement categories now have their own icons. Yay! - Refreshers and Leaves of Life now cure Frog, Shrink, Lycanthropy, and Stop status. No reason why not. There's just a little delay in the characters' portraits returning to normal mid-battle. - Halved the HP of the sailors you fight on the ferry to Cambria. I honestly didn't intend for that fight to be so difficult... - The Ogre Club now slows you down by 100 instead of 50 (this isn't visible in your stats, but affects the turn order mid-battle). Come on, it was just too good. ;P - It now costs less (a lot less) to forge a Windslash Katana from Zephyrite. - Powered up the Zephyr Bow. Now it's not useless. Almost. - Fixed a few minor graphical/textual/tile passability issues. - Fixed a bug that allowed you to use triple and quadruple combos even if one of the participants didn't have enough FP. The next update will bring with it some major additions, including the Party House, monster capture*, and manual sea travel (as well as the freedom to revisit older areas), so please do look forward to it. * - Just a little note on the forthcoming monster capture feature. As this is a work in progress, the listed availability for capture is only projection and subject to change; I won't know for sure until I act...Latest from New Reality Games, State of Anarchy: Master of MayhemMar 31, 2017 - Community AnnouncementsThe sequel to State of Anarchy is here! we've reached the day of release and now the time to annihilate aliens is nigh, Huzzah! Happy shooting, --Oliver http://store.steampowered.com/app/576130/Next update of Elements II Released!!!Oct 19, 2016 - Community AnnouncementsIt is unashamedly by the unconditional grace of God that I proudly present to you the second episode of Elements II. May it make you laugh, tremble in fear, and maybe even cry. Simply update the game by launching it through the Steam client and proceed as normal to enter the next area. There are a few amendments to note: One of the first things you'll probably notice is the addition of the "Please wait..." popup. There are a lot of calculations that the game carries out post-battle, including your Attributes and Friendships, causing a momentary freeze. I added the popup so people would know that it's normal, and not a problem with the game. It's actually quite pleasant, isn't it? I switched around some of the Attribute modifiers in an attempt to improve the game's balance. In my own experience, Will seemed overpowered (and maybe Agility), so I switched its influence with HP between Compassion and Virtue, and with Luck between Cowardice and Coldness. As for Agility, its negative influence by Cowardice was transposed to Imprudence (cowards need agility anyway... ;P). There are a few new statistics the game keeps track of that you can check by viewing your records in the Party Ball, including the number of battles fled and how much money you've spent on Pepp Pep. But anything before this new update won't count, so don't be confused when they both say "0". Some FP costs for Combos were reduced, allowing you to chain them more freely. For those so inclined, there are 11 new achievements, making for 31 total. If you already met the prerequisites before they were configured, just check your records with Chibi in the Party Ball, and they'll be unlocked. Also, the guide has been updated with the new content, so head on over to the link in the discussions if you have need (or are at all curious). Speaking of the discussions, be sure to keep an eye on my postcards topic for any news on forthcoming updates! And now I go to work on the very special Episode 3. Please do enjoy!
