The Fremen conquest brings a unique twist, focusing on the liberation of the planet rather than the traditional Conquest gameplay. You can also engage in three new battles, with two exclusively available in the Fremen Conquest and one accessible in the Smugglers Conquest. In Skirmish mode: Dune Small, Medium, and Large are the standard maps, each representing different sizes of the northern hemisphere of Arrakis. The Great Flat map is a vast expanse with extensive Deep Desert, placing main bases far from each other and emphasizing the importance of mobility and water. Expanding on the Great Flat is challenging due to the large distances between regions. The Populous Basin is another large map featuring numerous small regions, ideal for building strong defensive clusters of villages. Here, main bases are placed close to each other near the center of the map, allowing for outward expansion. Great Erg is a medium-sized map filled with smaller Deep Deserts and Mountain regions, creating bottlenecks and regions of strategic importance. Desert Ridge, designed for 2v2 play, is an elongated map where each team starts at opposite ends, separated by a long ridge and several Deep Desert areas. Sandy Valley is a medium rectangular map centered around a valley, well-suited for both 2v2 and free-for-all matches. Pillaging no longer gives plascrete depending on the amount of buildings in the village. Pillaging no longer gives plascrete or spice depending on the village production. Instead some buildings increase pillaging gains by a flat amount of a relevant resource. The gains coming from pillaging another faction's village is now more representative of its economic value. The gains from a pillage are computed at the beginning of the siege instead of at the end. Destroying buildings during a pillage does not reduce its bounty. Smugglers underworld headquarter extension "Contraband Caches" can stock up to 500 → 1000 spice, but that reward can no longer be increased by other bonuses. Spectator Mode Multiplayer lobbies can be set up to allow up to 8 spectators. Eliminated players can keep watching the game as spectators. Pillaged Sietch rework Fremen can no longer build in a devastated sietch. They can, however, repopulate them for a large cost, which removes the “devastated” trait. To compensate, Fremen now have 1 more building slot in their Main Base, forming a new 1-slot district. The eligibility condition for Dune Governorship has also been revised to only account for non-devastated sietches. The condition is now: control 1/5 of the map ally all non-devastated sietches at least 3/4 of sietches are not devastated Assassination UX rework Assassination UI has been improved with additional information on what you are supposed to do. A new option “Assassination tips” will help with learning the Assassination mechanics through targeted alerts. The option is “on” by default. The “imperial intelligence” Landsraad resolution, that allows Cell Search, even without having detected any assassination attempt, now works properly: you can prepare Cell Search operations, but also use them on your territory.
