These areas are now filled properly. 💥 Fixed: Stuck between death and revival after explosion Players who died from an explosion would sometimes be stuck in a limbo state — this is now resolved. You’ll now correctly wait for revival or respawn. 📣 Fixed: Megaphone audio feedback loop Using the megaphone no longer causes your voice to echo endlessly in your own output. This issue should now be resolved — saving a game will no longer create unintended duplicates. 🌱 Fixed: Seed reset when changing presets Changing the game preset (e.g. from Normal to Chill) after reloading a save would incorrectly reset the world seed to 0. While that first fix helped in some cases, it unfortunately did not fully resolve the issue for everyone. 🚧 We’ve just deployed a second fix that further targets the performance degradation over long distances. If you were still experiencing frame drops during long drives, this update should bring noticeable improvements. We’re continuing to monitor the situation closely, and we’ll keep refining things until the problem is fully resolved. Thanks again for your patience and for continuing to report issues — it really helps us track down and squash these bugs faster. — The Drive Beyond Horizons Team🛠️ Hotfix - FPS drops with distanceMar 30, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsHey everyone, This is a quick hotfix to address a performance issue that some players have been experiencing: ⚡ Fixed: FPS drops with distance We’ve resolved a problem where performance would degrade noticeably the further you drove in the world. This issue was especially visible on longer journeys, with increasing frame drops over time. The game should now maintain a more stable framerate regardless of how far you’ve traveled. As always, thank you for the reports and feedback — and for sticking with us through early access. More improvements are on the way soon! — The Drive Beyond Horizons Team🛠️ Patch Notes – Stability UpdateMar 30, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsHey everyone, Just a quick note regarding the game’s status on Steam: nothing has changed yet on that front — the game is still not available for new players on the store. However, if you already own it, you can continue playing without issue. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we have any progress to share. Thanks again for your patience and continued support ❤️ ✅ Bug Fixes & Improvements Fixed crash related to door panels. Some players were experiencing random crashes when interacting with or removing door panels — this issue should now be resolved. Improved level generation randomness. Previously, certain levels would almost never spawn depending on the seed, while others would appear way too frequently. Level spawn distribution is now more balanced and truly random. Fixed vehicle parts detaching themselves over time. Components like the steering wheel, seats, and other attachable parts that were slowly drifting out of the car after being installed should now stay properly secured. Fixed save/load inconsistency when creating a new game. Previously, if you selected an old save, exited back to the menu, and then started a new game, the game would silently load the previously selected save instead of starting fresh. Creating a new game now properly starts from scratch. Seed correction for corrupted saves. If you have a save where the seed has unexpectedly changed to 0, you can now manually update it to restore the correct one. ⚠️ Important: This is only intended for saves that were affected by the seed-reset bug. You should never change the seed manually for normal saves — doing so may cause issues. Thanks again for sticking with us through all of this. We’re continuing to push forward with stability updates, especially around tire behavior and collision issues. More patches are on the way, and we won’t stop until the core systems are as solid as they should be. As always, feel free to share feedback, bugs, or weird behavior you encounter — it helps us a lot. 🚗💨 — The Drive Beyond Horizons Team🛠️ TEMPORARY REMOVAL – EXPLANATION & NEXT STEPSMar 28, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsHello everyone, We want to give you a quick update regarding the recent temporary removal of Drive Beyond Horizons from the Steam store. Earlier this week, our game was targeted by a DMCA takedown request regarding the use of a music track. We want to clarify immediately that: 🎧 The music used in our game is fully original and built using royalty-free samples from Splice, a platform that allows commercial use for all licensed users. The claim appears to be based on the fact that both our track and the claimant’s track share the same royalty-free sample, which is allowed and legally used by countless creators. We have already submitted all necessary documentation to Valve, including: Proof of our Splice subscription The original sample used We are working hard with Valve to resolve this situation as quickly as possible. In the meantime: ✅ If you already own the game: you can still play it as normal ❌ If you’re trying to purchase the game: the store page is temporarily hidden due to the claim We expect the situation to be resolved very soon and the game to return to the store. We deeply appreciate your support and understanding during this time. Feel free to reach out to us on Discord, by email, or right here if you have questions. — Drive Beyond Horizons team🚨 Important Message About Save Files 🚨Mar 28, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsHey everyone, First of all, thank you so much for all the love and support since the early access launch of Drive Beyond Horizons. It’s been incredible to see the passion and energy you’ve brought to the game! We’ve discovered a critical issue with the old save system: after driving a bit over 100 kilometers, some save files become corrupted and can no longer save any further progress. To solve this, we’re introducing a brand-new save system, built to be much more stable and reliable in the long run. 💾 What happens to your old save? Your save isn’t completly lost. Instead of deleting it, we’ve preserved it in a dedicated Steam branch called oldsavesystem. If you’d like to finish an existing adventure, you can switch to that branch and continue from where you left off. However, please note: After driving a bit over 100 km, your progress will no longer be saved due to the critical bug. If you load into the game and your car is missing, it means the save is already too corrupted, and unfortunately, it’s too late to recover it. 📌 We strongly recommend playing on the official version with the new save system to ensure a smooth and future-proof experience. To help you switch branches if needed, we’ve posted screenshots with step-by-step instructions on how to access the oldsavesystem branch. We know it’s frustrating to lose progress, and we’re truly sorry for the inconvenience. This was a tough call, but a necessary one to ensure a better experience moving forward. ❤️ Thank you again for your patience, understanding, and continued support. This is just the beginning — and we’re more committed than ever to making Drive Beyond Horizons the game you deserve. This is how to switch on the branch: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44897769/ad8d9775f663846cb623838b4ab35bcc5472fe54.png {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44897769/4ea6e3b4f384f8df3f729cbc6c0cab77474d184c.png 🧭 And despite all this, we’ve got something new for you to enjoy: We’ve added two brand-new points of interest to the world of Drive Beyond Horizons! You can see a preview of them just below — we hope you enjoy exploring them as much as we enjoyed creating them. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44897769/e1de26685df42f6c7c68e88516ddd90723026f8a.png {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44897769/f41229bcfdfbcfb7654852d65d022b03e3f400c4.jpg 🔧 We’re also doing everything we can to improve overall game stability.
