Update #041 - EA 0.07.010Nov 3, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsHey survivors! in today's update brings safe sectors. As you probably all know the whole world is made up of smaller sectors that are gradually revealed on the map. As of today, it is possible to secure certain sectors. Security is done via "MCPO Point" claim sites and "Outposts". Both of them require a daily supply of resources, if this is the case the surrounding sectors will be secured. The MCPO Point secures its sector plus adjacent sectors to the north, south, east and west. The Outpost secures only its sector. A liberated and secured MCPO Point also activates the local militia. But keep in mind that secured sectors are not 100% safe. Zombies and aggressive animals may still appear, but they are completely free of raiders (both on foot and in cars). In secured sectors there are no attacks on your claimed and securedl ocations. There are still a few locations in the world that are outside of the possible safe sectors at this time - these locations can be attacked. As time goes on, more MCPO Points will be added to make everything secure. There are two new "Transport Depot" locations in the world that will supply newly needed material. After a long break, i have prepared a new minor update and improvements for you. As most of you probably know, i was forced to take a little unplanned vacation and take a break from development. The game itself hasn't been able (and still isn't able) to earn a full time development lately. I was and still am forced to find other work and pursue development on this game when there is space and peace an development. Which hasn't been very much lately. Anyway, I did a little update, focusing on the little things that caught my eye right after this extended hiatus - when I played the game again and approached it differently than before. Mostly that the game is too simple;) And it loses the atmosphere I wanted it to have. So here are the first small changes: Options - sections have gotten a better and more understandable UI for switching sections Fixed some visual bugs (on the go) - a lot of them are still in the game. The traders around the roads (with weapons) now have very little chance of being encountered + there is also a chance that their caravan will be in flames and destroyed. Claimed POI sites - Military Post - there are no more arms dealers. After completing the tutorial, all cars in the game are very low on fuel. Also, the content of the free petrol cans has been lowered - petrol is more valuable now. The world map is no longer available in creative mode. Some "Claimes POI sites" now have a better visible capturable point (the device where you submit the stripes). The frequency of spawning some items has been reduced. Today we bring you a new update that brings several major technical improvements. First, the physics behaviour during car crashes into enemies has been adjusted. It was more complicated than we expected, but it worked out in the end. There's still room for improvement but the basic mechanics are, in our opinion, already much better than before. Also, a tweak was made to the weather behaviour - it's globally colder at night. So nights are not entirely safe even in a forest location. The frequency of spawn events on and around the road (enemy cars, npcs etc.) has been reduced - so the world is not too full of humanoid npcs - instead there are more animals and zombies (including big ones). The character now makes disturbing noise - this is a working version , but... If you're in a car that's started, you're attracting nearby zombies. New firearms and their statistics. Let's look at firearms first. All firearms have newly their own statistics, which are visible in the inventory. This modified their firepower, accuracy, scattering of bullets, etc. The original pistol was replaced by a new M1911. However, other pistols such as Luger - P08, Berreta M9, Desert Eagle D50, PB-6P9, Walther PPK, PPQ M2 and Glock Mk 28 are now available. This update contains a lot of new elements that took time to implement, as well as a lot of things in the background of the game code (which are logically invisible, but you may feel them while playing;)). The basic main element of the whole update is the focus on improving the Forest Zone. Where we trying to implement new game elements and mechanisms in a smaller space then we will be able to implement them into the main world. A new reward system was implemented in the game (so far only in the forest zone). Its logic is as follows: You get special stripes for killing enemies (humanoid and zombies) and completing daily quests in the forest zone. These stripes can be exchanged for empty boxes, which must then be delivered as filled (with things that can be made or found). You will receive a certain number of points for each delivery. When you reach the required number of points, you advance by one level in this system and receive rewards. Once you reach the maximum level, the system resets and you can repeat everything and get rewards again. Another novelty is a special task for the zone (also currently only for the forest zone). It is a task to find a certain number of special suitcases that are hidden somewhere in the zone. These suitcases can then be sold and get a lot of credits. You will get the task only after completing the tutorials. Special daily tasks are another thing we have been working on. It's not perfect yet, but we try to make the tasks a little fun and different. The reward system works as follows: 1) Get the necessary items (which can be obtained mainly in this zone). 2) Exchange some of these items for the delivery required item. 3) Delivery of the required items to gain Zone points and reputation. 4) Enough zone points = level progress in the delivery system and getting a reward. 5) When the maximum delivery zone level is reached, the system restarts, and you can start again from the beginning and get all the rewards again. There was a technical issue at background that should be resolved by this hotfix. Because steam Cloud does not allow you to restore previously saved data (it does not have an archiving system), we made our internal system for data backup (so far only for data of built buildings). Hotfix Fixed data loss issue (hopefully). An internal background system that backs up your data for building elements. Information: If data is lost, please inform us and we will guide you how to restore previous data. So far, it has not been possible to do this somehow in the UI for easy recovery (given the need for rapid implementation). We will keep improving it.
