Divided Reigns

Steam Deck CompatibilityDec 20, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsAfter a lot of playtesting, we are pleased to announce Divided Reigns works perfectly with the Steam Deck... as long as you use Proton 7.0-6. Here is how to enable it on Steam Deck: On the game screen, select the gear icon on the right. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/3ee209d189c49b5e6d2d80f365e0f4991f125c83.jpg Next go to Properties. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/13d6e63ba78d627ae1cfd628a9e2fa1e9d556f78.jpg Go down to Compatibility, turn on "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" and select Proton 7.0-6. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/4cee2f665fc0f196deabd7d306f3897d2ef16d48.jpg That's it! I know this isn't ideal, but the issue seems to be with Proton compatibility and nw.js (basically the way the game is run), which is completely out of our hands. Hopefully they put out a new update for both so they behave together. Happy Adventuring! -Andrew2 Years Old Price Change! Also minor update.Apr 2, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsDivided Reigns is now 2 years old! To celebrate, it is now permanently $9.99! (If it still shows $14.99, it should change in the next 24 hours). We just pushed a minor update addressing several bugs our players have found over the last few months. Thank you for everyone who posts bugs in the discussion board. We appreciate you so much! Fairly major change: We disabled the "fps limiter" function because it seemed to be causing crashes for some players. This is the option to limit the fps to 60 to prevent the game from running too fast on faster hz monitors. However... I have a 144hz monitor and it still seems to run at 60 fps without this option. ¯\(º_o)/¯ Please let us know... 1. if your crashing has stopped, and 2. if you now have issues with the game running too fast. (You should be able to change your monitor's refresh rate to 60 if you need to... but that is a crappy fix) The final change for this update is now the New Game + option to have the characters' classes swapped around should work correctly. It was 100% bugged before... which I found out live on stream. lol As always, please review the game if you have the time. It helps us tremendously. Thank you for 2 amazing years of playing, discussing, and enjoying Divided Reigns! -AndrewMinor updateSep 13, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsWe plugged that hole! The memory leak is OFFICIALLY plugged! You *should* not crash any more after extended periods of play. In order to do this, I had to do some deep code work, so please let us know if you find any bugs as a result. I can't playtest the whole game at the drop of a hat. ;-) Automatic Fullscreen I don't have a Steam Deck to playtest on, but a friend of mine does! A special and genuine thank you to my best childhood friend CrispyPigParts for the help. DR works fine naturally with the Steam Deck except one thing: "Press F4 for fullscreen"........... you can't press F4 on the Steam Deck! To fix this, now DR just starts in fullscreen. Easy Peasy! I just saved you about .002 of a calorie by not having to reach up to hit the F4 key every time you play. You're welcome. Because of the above, now... Steam Deck Supported! I mean... it's just word of mouth and more play testing needs to be done, but it seems like DR works natively with the Steam Deck just fine. Yey! Valve did something right for once! As always, please take a moment to write a review of our game if you have the time. It helps us tremendously. Happy Adventuring! -Andrew Ryan HenkeMemory Leak Fixed!!!Sep 6, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsDivided Reigns has had a bug since launch that we thought was unfixable. However, after receiving another negative review from the game crashing, we decided to do more research into the issue. We found a newly discovered possible fix and tested it and it seemed to work! Let us know if your game crashes after playing for a while, but.. *fingers crossed* we think it's fixed!Minor bug fixes, new accessory, some tweaked skillsJul 21, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsHey everyone! We have been fixing more bugs over the last few weeks. This update addresses several including the Gassy Giant bug, the Void Horror now (finally) working correctly, and others that were reported by the community. Thank you! Some tweaks to skills: the strongest spells in the game have been buffed in power slightly. This includes, Conflagration, Upheaval, Nuke, Nuke Area, Astral Fury, Phoenix, Nidhoggr, Desecration, and Vitriolic Cascade. This should help magic users keep up in damage output a little better late game. Also Masret's skill formerly known as True Strike is now called "Bolster Offense." A complaint some players had is there are too few ways to increase magic power during battle. Masret's skill now increases Attack and Magic by 20%. Enjoy! In another attempt to address the issue described above, a new accessory has been introduced fairly early in the game in Wilton Woods called the Enhance Talisman. This accessory grants the wearer four new and unique skills which let you buff an ally's attack or magic. The single buff abilities are only 10 RP, and the double buff skills are 60 RP. Now anyone can be a support character! :-) That is all for now. Thank you for reporting any bugs you find and for your feedback so we can make the game even better! As always, please take a moment to review the game. It helps us tremendously. Happy Adventuring! -Andrew Ryan HenkeMultitudinous Minor ChangesJun 21, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsI'm finishing up a Very Hard difficulty playthrough and this update is fixing all the tiny issues I found along the way. A few gameplay changes were made, but all were minor. Some abilities like Masret's True Strike now lasts 5 rounds instead of 3. Orson's traps last 5 rounds, are a little stronger, and remove other traps on the character so you can't pile them up. Shakar's Sneak Attack is slighly stronger. Most of the changes were small graphical issues, spelling or other text-based mistakes, or tiny bug fixes. There's a new enemy in the Vooresh sewers that appears pretty rarely, though you can't get back to that location once you've completed it. The Void Horror around Virion's Castle is now possible to battle (oops). Go see if you can beat it and get the unique item it gives you! Enjoy! One year anniversary of DR release!Apr 2, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsOne Year Anniversary! It's hard to believe Divided Reigns is already one year old. To celebrate, we're permanently lowering the price to $14.99 USD. Thank you to everyone who's purchased our game, supported us, and written a review. We do this for you and we have been overwhelmed with your positive feedback. We've started working on the first of nine new endgame quests--one for each main character. First up is Celeste! In her quest you will find out who won last year's fencing tournament, participate in this year's tournament, address the issues with Celeste's parents, and finally learn what those gem fragments are for! Update Specifics A fairly minor update is live today. A special thanks to use Mechalibur and my father for finding and reporting several bugs and typos. Gall's world and battle sprites have been updated to more accurately represent Lunali's full-size art The two Mace weapons you get from monster hunts have had their attack and magic powers increased slightly The two Blade Staves have had their stats increased slightly Several minor typos and misspellings have been fixed Fixed a bug where you could get into Fort Abel way too early Fixed a bug where you could get to Fort Nynnyaw early Fixed the bug (again) with the Abeyan child in the Kairon capital saying the wrong thing Poe's Chest Quest achievements SHOULD work correctly now (let me know if they don't) The skill Rapid Attack now hits twice like it's supposed to Fixed a bug where you could get infinite green gems from the skills trainer Fixed a bug with Ailfred's Journal late game regarding liberated towns As always, thank you for playing our game! If you have a moment to write a review of Divided Reigns, we would appreciate it! It helps us greatly. Happy adventuring! -Andrew Ryan HenkeExpanded Ralts skills, New 100RP animation, rebalanced Sneak Attack, and more!Jan 16, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsNew Ralts weapon enchantment skills Ralts' weapon enchanting skills have never really worked how they were originally planned. They were supposed to increase base attack by 10% and make EVERY attack done with that character the element of choice. However, if the attack had a type to it, the type of attack overwrote the element attack. Example: Ralts enchants Shakar's weapons with fire. Shakar does a weak attack... it's fire elemental! Yey. Shakar does a Sneak Attack. Since it has no attack type, it's fire elemental. Yey. However, if she does a side attack, reach attack, etc. all of those will NOT be fire elemental because the type of the attack takes precedence. While this is still the case, to make up for it there are now 3 new skills that go with each elemental enchantment! They are as follows: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/5f8a3c0e40ad4ec3aad6f3f8bbeed5270ec01dc8.png 20RP - Attack - About as strong as a strong type attack but with a small chance to inflict the corresponding status effect for that element. 50RP - Wave - A little stronger than the previous skill but it hits all enemies and has a slightly higher chance of inflicting the status effect. 80RP - Onslaught - A massive single target attack of the element type with a high chance of inflicting the status effect. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/1a63eabd5980eb0616a4e398ab82beaa561f6624.png Changed Accessories There are 8 items that have gone through a few changes during development that have been changed again. These are: Cape, Brigandine, Greaves, Crampons, Circlet, Bracers, Tunic, and Pauldrons. Previously they each gave different combinations of defense against two attack types and gave a little armor. Even though I'd tweaked them a few times, they were largely forgettable. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/f26c0cce8de3b861036c99995e620b2b69af3010.png Now four of these fulfill the original role. They are as follows: Cape: -50% Ranged, M. Arts Brigandine: -50% Thrust, Side Greaves: -50% Low, Trip Pauldrons: -50% Reach, High The other four have been changed to try to give the player more versatility in their equipment even earlier. Stats that you used to not have much control over (magic evasion, agility, max HP, and an extra weak attack) you can now tweak with this gear. Crampons: Raise Agility Circlet: +10% Magic Evasion Bracers: +1 Extra Weak Attack Tunic: Increases maximum HP Hopefully this change makes these specific 8 items (and all their more powerful versions) more useful and give you, the player, more control over how you build your characters. New 100RP High skill - Heaven Strike In our continued effort to give every 100RP attack type skill its own unique animation and functionality, we just completed the High skill Heaven Strike. You will smash down on the targeted enemy, then send out a shockwave hitting every enemy on the screen including the original target. Check it out the next time you need to bash a few heads! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/15b51e6f525a1ae89772591826f19a628adfb9bf.png ...Our Largest Sale Ever!Nov 24, 2021 - Community Announcements$5 Holiday Sale has arrived! We really wanted to pay homage to our favorite old school 90's RPG genre when we created it, but moreso to keep the innocent nature those games had, but give it a story that can stir emotions and feelings in us now adults, that we used to get when we were just young kids playing these classic games on our older brother's TV. We sincerely hope we returned some of those old feelings for you when you led Captain Ailfred on his epic struggle to save Schism once and for all! Hopefully with enough votes, we can bring awareness to even more old-school RPG fanatics that are still left out there. We are aiming for votes in Best Story category, but please vote for whatever category you feel catches your eye the most. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/684218df5b9ecd17fb3ea3fac9b7d0291e463c76.jpg In case you missed it, end game dungeons are now a go! The Choicemaker's Temple is now open and playable. Experience the largest side quest of the game yet in a enthralling mini-story that opens up the world of Divided Reigns with aspects of the worlds lore come to life! Recommended you are at least level 90 before attempting. Level cap has been raised to 120. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/efd7c92244d49d03bda02cdb784d99f08ad70a02.jpg Thank you everyone, From the NAG teamThe Choicemaker's Tomb is open!Nov 16, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsOur biggest update ever is here! The bonus endgame dungeon The Choicemaker's Tomb is now open! Level cap increased to 120 The level cap has been increased from 99 to 120. This will let you enjoy leveling up your party members in the new dungeon even if you were previously maxed. One thing to note, if you had previously power-leveled and had more experience than the 99 cap allowed, your xp will be reset to 99 as soon as you go to the world map, the final dungeon, or into the Choicemaker's Tomb. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/84117dd105cc19bfb8f4ae260f138b041b2f93da.png The Choicemaker's Tomb As promised pre-launch, our first of two super hard endgame dungeons is now complete and open for you to explore. It is the biggest dungeon in the game (even bigger than the final dungeon). Expect to be pushed to your limits strategically in the battles and intellectually in the puzzles of the dungeon. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/269356dc1f8fe045280bb268b1ea7f194fff0f3e.png How to get there The quest that leads you to the Choicemaker's Tomb starts in the Knowledge Repository in Moloke very close to the end of the game. Speak with the woman in the middle of the second floor and she'll guide you to her home and tell you about the dungeon. Once you get back to the world map, you will find the tomb in a ring of mountains on the Hess-erabian continent accessible only via airship. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/d7223fd32fc96565a7331c22b0ebf086de6d139e.png Battles Battles are handled differently in The Choicemaker's Tomb. With the severely increased challenge of this dungeon, we didn't want you simply being able to run from every battle, or save and reload each time you stumbled across a specific enemies you don't want to fight. There are no random battles! (Yey?) Now you trigger battles by stepping on purple battle traps. The battles are also sequential meaning you have to face and overcome each specific group of enemies in order to progress. However, there is a rare item you can find that will let you skip a battle and face the next set of enemies. This system also lets you try different parties and equipment set-ups to overcome each specific battle--something that is impossible with random battles. This lets us make the challenge of the battles even greater. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/9b6bf4168d17e1230417b82d095a976143817939.png 1v1 battle Previously in the game there was only one 1v1 battle. We always planned on doing more and there is a quite difficult one about halfway through this dungeon. Enjoy! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/20e4b697970ca22b6ac3f4b61b831a4f29700508.png Three Team Dungeon In all the JRPGs I've ever played, my favorite final dungeon is Kefka's Tower from Final Fantasy VI. I always loved that you had three teams of different characters that had to work together to get through the dungeon. I also loved that you had to spread your equipment out across all your characters to try to make balanced teams. There's just a ton of strategy in that gameplay desig...The Choicemaker's Tomb is about to open!Oct 4, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsThe MASSIVE endgame dungeon The Choicemaker's Tomb is complete and in beta testing. Expect it any day now! Get those Mythril Greatswords and Rings of Aggression ready, because it is HARD! Developer: *Maniacal laugh* {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/4e5b1197434b251109219a0919c0c4bf76aadb8d.png What to expect: The biggest dungeon in the game by far Tons of new enemies all of which are difficult and require a unique strategy to defeat Tons of new powerful unique equipment A new 1v1 battle Half of the dungeon requires three parties to complete Massive tie-in with our previous game Einlanzer Bug fixes and small equipment rebalancingJul 18, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsHello Adventurers! This patch addresses bugs that have been brought up by the community. Thank you for everyone who reported bugs in the discussion board. Both my and Adam's personal lives have been very busy recently, so thank you for being patient with us getting around to fixing them. Some specific bugs Many minor bugs and grammar mistakes are being fixed in this update, but here are some of the more notable ones. - Before, the spells Phoenix and Nidhoggr would use the command "force action" to do the secondary effect of the spells. If your character had another action coming via Time Flux, Haste, etc., it would cancel the next actions. Now, the secondary action these spells cause happens at the end of the round. This does change the strategy with these spells a tiny bit. - Dual Thrust now does both attacks like it's supposed to. - Margaret in Kairon should now be gone as intended. Also, her son will actually take the Talents as expected. - There is now a battle background if the Kairon mercenaries attack you on a small settlement tile. - The kid you have to talk to in Zeben now stands still. Him walking around randomly was causing frustrating bugs for players who prefer to use the mouse to play. - The accessory "Magic Evasion Pendant" now correctly gives the wearer 30% evasion. - The 100RP skill Decapitating Swing now does the correct animation. (Go check it out!) - New Game + modes "Element swap" and "Class swap" both should work correctly with the new difficulties Story and Very Hard modes. - Unity weapons granted their element absorbing properties to whoever wielded them before. Now it's only the chosen character as intended. - One bug that I could not chase down nor replicate is that the end credits roll then the final scene with Celeste and Shakar doesn't play. Let me know if this happens for you. Minor equipment rebalancing - On the item Spirit Orb, the 75% MP usage was simply too strong. It is now 50%. The armor and magic resist debuffs were removed and the magic power was raised to compensate. - Spiked shields now grant more attack power and the parrying blades grant less (Parrying blades were too good) - Excalibur is slightly stronger now - Buckler of Wounding now grants slightly more attack power - Diamond Rod now grants slightly more magic power - Monk Shoes now grant a little more attack power Also... The secret human Talent shop in Moloke now sells Healing Breeze and Healing Gust potions. No one sold them before. Now you can optimize an Auto Healing Breeze user with some Pharmacology boosting equipment for a viable healing build on any character! Lastly, the next update will feature the Choicemaker's Tomb bonus end-game dungeon. It'll take a few weeks to get it ready, but we are very excited to get it out to you. You'll really have to use your wits to beat these monsters. ;-) As always, please take a moment to write a review of Divided Reigns. It helps us tremendously! Happy Adventuring! -Andrew Ryan Henke The Alchemist UpdateJul 1, 2021 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/b9d7abc174f88d820f7bf4aedb6e399717dde011.png The next update is here bringing you new unique items, a skill animation, bug fixes, art, and more! Details below. Auto Potion Accessories Let me introduce you to a new accessory type: the Auto Potion! When you equip one of these accessories, if that character has less than 100% HP at the end of the round (or MP for the Auto Ether), the respective item is used automatically! Be careful of your item reserves, because these accessories can gobble up your items quite quickly if you don't have a large stockpile. These are potentially quite powerful accessories. Therefore, there are only one of each type in the game. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/1242a9ddccfbf9da506c78ddc096d6f64d0a5bc1.png There are five versions in all. All have been placed through the progression of the game and in a way that if you're past that area in the story, you can go back later and acquire each. Auto First Aid - Can be found on one of the dead ends in Wilton Woods. Auto Potion - Can be found at the top of "Northernmost Point," the secret area just north of Vooresh castle accessible via ship or airship. Auto Potent Potion - Can be found The eastern wing of Fort Nynnyaw. Auto Ether - Can be found at the top of "Kairon Lookout," the secret area on the western side of Kairon accessible via ship or airship. Auto Healing Breeze - Can be found on the northwest side of the poison swamp near Pon. Auto Potion also works with items that increase your "Pharmacology" stat, so put on your Chemist Gloves, Pharmacology Gloves, or the new item described below to make your Auto Potion accessory even more effective! Alchemist Robes {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/d46a89737aefa0b4f27af4adffaf12ed17b13424.png Purchasable in the Moloke Red Gem shop, the new Alchemist Robes give you further control over your item usage. The robes increase the wearer's "Pharmacology" stat by 50%, so most restorative items used by the character wearing the robes are increased by 50%. Stack this with your Chemist and/or Pharmacology Gloves to increase item potency even more! The Alchemist Robes are also quite defensive for a Robe, so they would be a great fit for the healer of your party. New Battle Background Art Adam created two new beautiful battle backgrounds for the final dungeon. There is one for the metal/mechanical sections and one for the red caverns sections. There's also a new scripted miniboss in the final dungeon to show off the new enemy the Automaton and the mechanical background. The red cavern background can be seen further down. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/c4cc45761edd2ef3c86ac2514cb6e99990f06654.png Redesigned Whirling Fury Continuing our process of redoing all the 100RP attack skills, next up was the Reach skill Whirling Fury. It has been completely redesigned! Now the skill hits more times the more enemies are on the screen. It will always hit the selected target enemy at least twice. If you happen to find a battle with the maxim...Two new difficulties!May 29, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsWe've received several negative reviews now saying the game is too hard. This update aims to address these complaints by giving more options and control to the player over the difficulty of the game. Below are the specifics, but to summarize... Regular difficulty is now slightly easier (via slightly more HP, Defense, and Magic Defense) New "Story Mode" difficulty for people who just enjoy the story and don't want to worry about battles New "Very Hard" difficulty for people who want an even greater challenge than Hard offered (and a new accompanying Very Hard achievement) Chickens in every town to permanently lower your difficulty if desired. New Difficulty Selection Screen On a new game, you'll notice a snazzy new difficulty selection screen. I tried to summarize each difficulty mode in as simple of terms as possible without getting into the specifics and overwhelming a new player. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/15782f166d4b82cbf33b30995031e7b29ca06043.png Slightly Easier Regular and Easy Modes We've received a few negative reviews saying the game is too hard. In an effort to address these concerns, all characters have slightly more defenses on Regular difficulty. HP, Defense, and Magic Defense were all raised slightly to make fainting characters a little less common. Also, on Easy difficulty, all characters now regenerate 5% HP and 2% MP in and out of battle. New Difficulties Story Mode Story Mode is designed to make the game less tedious and much easier for someone who wants to experience the story more than anything else. Story Mode takes the stats from Easy mode and makes these changes: Significantly more HP for all characters All characters have a passive 10% HP regeneration and 5% MP regeneration. The goal here is so players don't have to heal after every battle. Half as many random battles Double the experience earned for each battle to make up for there being half as many. Easy achievement is still earned upon beating the game. Very Hard Mode I (Andrew) like a challenging JRPG! Hard mode was originally designed to be very, very difficult. After release, many aspects of the game became more streamlined and a bit easier. Hard mode has become a little less hard (though it's still far from a walk in the park). To satisfy players like me who want a difficulty that really pushes the limits of your knowledge of the combat mechanics, Very Hard Mode won't disappoint. Characters base stats were lowered from Regular difficulty to Hard difficulty. The base character stats are basically the same for Very Hard mode as they are for Hard mode HOWEVER the stat changes apply to equipment as well! This suggestion was made by unknown_zzz, so thanks to him for the idea! Here is an example: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/a8b32fcf0c544eed4548e08b6b8fdadd1ea8ce79.png In the top two screenshots, you can see the difficulty is set to Hard mode. The equipment gives the full bonuses as expected. In the bottom two screenshots, the difficulty is set to Very Hard mode with th...Battle Stuttering Fixed!May 12, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsThis is a very small update mostly addressing one specific problem: hitching/stuttering in battle. After a lot of experimenting, I discovered the tumble effect that happens on the damage popup was causing the slowdown. It's sad because I really liked the tumbling damage, but it had to go. A couple other small changes: For Gall's Ki abilities, the magic attack ratio is even higher now. Put some items on him that raise magic attack and see how powerful he gets! :-) Most HP Regen items and skills got a buff. They were useless before. Notably Regen Rings now add a little base HP and the regen effect was increased by 5% each. Also, Habar's Regeneration skill was increased from 10% each round to 20%! That's it for today! Please take a moment to write a review of Divided Reigns. It helps tremendously! Happy Adventuring! -Andrew New Animations, Rebalanced Attack Skills, Bug Fixes, And More!May 10, 2021 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/ade2be8ec127386cbc23f6112de7b9d7f5d02470.png It's now more than a month since Divided Reigns was released to the world and Adam and I couldn't be happier with the reception of our players. Thank you for joining us on this journey and we are so glad so many of you have had a great time with this game. Some new content for you! There's a new very difficult mini boss wandering around on the floating continent for you to battle! The Automaton hits like a truck and has three orbs circling it that each do unique things to influence the battle. This will also give your magic users a chance to shine since the Automaton has VERY high defense (an enemy type that was lacking in the final dungeon... people were just hacking and slashing everything to bits!) {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/082a4040d95dc8416322bffca6f0a11e0ce984c3.png New Attack Animations! We updated the 100RP Side attack "Decapitating Swing" in the last update. We have two more ultimate attack type skills completed for you! Check out a sneak peak of "Reckless Abandon" in the screenshot with the Automaton above, and the new "Bum Rush" (inspired by Sabin's Blitz from FFVI) in the screenshot below! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/81382e30739ff44af41e11ecef3ec5862480cb86.png Tons of tiny bug fixes and quality of life improvements! There have been a lot of small bugs fixed that you'll probably never notice and are too numerous to list here. Special shoutout to unknown_zzz for sending me a spreadsheet list of over 300 bugs! Tiamat being broken after you lost to him one time was a major bug that took a lot of investigating to figure out what was wrong. Thank you for your patience with us fixing this. It should be good now! Let us know if you have any issues. People complained that Shakar's equipment was squished because "Weapon Offhand" was too long. Now it's just "Offhand" so her equipment has the same room to be read as the other characters. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/6461245bdac291d0a056d643fe72be0f2356199e.png Through the game, when you gain a new character, their level will automatically match either Ailfred's or another character in your party if Ailfred is taking a vacation when you gain that character. Reworked Ring of Aggression. This item was added near launch and it's never worked correctly. It was so OP it kindof broke the game. Now, it simply gives the wearer 50RP at the start of battle. Due to popular demand, the damage on end-game weapons has been increased slightly. Rebalanced attack skills We had one reviewer say that the game is balanced poorly. I (Andrew) balanced and built all the numbers/stats/skills/enemies from the ground up. I put an incredible amount of effort and care into balancing the game, but there's always room for improvement. I always try my best to hear constructive criticism with an open mind. I just rebalanced every physical damage ability in the game. I wanted to share with you the detailed specifics of how I crafted the skills in this game....Late Game Major Offense RebalanceApr 29, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsGreetings Adventurers! There have been some very in-depth discussions on the DR Steam message boards about late-game balancing. The general consensus is that physical attacks are too strong and you can just steamroll almost every battle with "glass cannon" builds. Also, with such powerful equipment, the Hard difficulty stat changes became less and less drastic with the overpowered offensive equipment. This update aims to balance this through a few changes. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/dd7c2dc4cc5b270c899fe2b92f628a5063554e9a.png Power Ring and Arcane Ring now increase their respective stats by 25% instead of 33% The HP Ring is up to 33% like the other rings. Almost all late-game weapons have been nerfed slightly and rebalanced with each other (offhand weapons got a slight buff) Fixed bug where Celeste's "Distraction" skill worked 100% of the time even on bosses (shout out to player unknown_zzz for all his hard work with this one) All "Formation" skills are 40 RP and go before all regular skills without speed priority. Celeste's ultimate skill "Duelist Dance" now attacks three times instead of four. The power was buffed to compensate. We have also fixed several small bugs and a major one on Abel Wall that was blocking players' progress. One big notable bug that we haven't had the time to fix yet is the invisible Tiamat bug. Thank you for your patience with it. We will get to it soon. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36986402/42392b033f48f94729cde0875957a29b85dc7968.png For new content, we've wanted to have unique animations and character movement for the 100RP attack skills ever since launch. We plan on getting to all 8 of them eventually, but first up was the Side skill Decapitation Swing! Check it out in battle the next chance you get! Thank you to all our players and their thorough discussion of strategy, balancing, and bug finding. We appreciate you so much and you are taking an active role in making DR a better game! Happy Adventuring!Battle Stuttering Fix!Apr 26, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsI (Andrew) did a deep dive and found some extra system files that weren't necessary and that were slowing down the game in a few ways. The most noticeable is in battles. The game now won't stutter when using spells/abilities that target a lot of enemies! This has been a huge sore spot since launch and was introduced when we were trying to figure out why achievements weren't working. Some bug fixes and changes: The bug where you couldn't encounter Tiamat any more after he flees should be fixed (check to make sure and let us know, though). Celeste's ultimate ability Duelist Dance felt too similar to Shakar's ultimate ability Flurry of Death. Now, Duelist Dance does 3 attacks instead of 4 and damage has been increased to compensate. Finally fixed the orphan Abeyan bug where you could give him 1000 talents for eternity with nothing changing. Beating the game on Regular now gives you the Easy achievement too. Beating the game on Hard gives you Regular and Easy achievements. The power of level III spells was increased slightly. A few other small bugs were changed as well. Let us know how the game runs for you or if you see any issues from this update.
