Dethroned!

To the players of Dethroned!Jun 24, 2014 - Community AnnouncementsDespite our best efforts we couldn’t secure financing for continuing the development of Dethroned! Because of this we’re in the process of removing the Supporter Pack DLC from the store. In addition all the payment options in the game itself will be made non-functional during the next few days. We thank the community for the great support Dethroned! got during it’s run on Steam, especially everyone who gave to the development as customers, players and commentators. Servers running the game will be kept up until money runs out. Q&A Q: Will there be any more updates, like heroes, to the game? A: No, unless we get funding for that. Q: How long will the servers be up? A: Unknown, several weeks is an educated guess. Q: What happens when the servers go down? A: Bearded server guy is working on a dedicated server software so those who want can run the server themselves. Release date for this is unknown. Q: Will there be an option to host a game inside the Dethroned! client itself? A: Probably no, this would be a much larger undertaking than making a dedicated server software. Q: Will the game be open sourced if there’s no funding for it? A: Probably not, for a variety of reasons (like the usage of third-party toolkits). Q: Is there an upside? A: Well, if you want to be the best ever player of Dethroned! like, forever, now is your definite chance! Patch 1.0.10 is now live - now with Alchemist for DLC owners!Apr 4, 2014 - Community AnnouncementsPatch 1.0.10 is live! Here's what's in it: - NEW HERO: ALCHEMIST is now available to DLC owners! The alchemist is a hero that combines three ingredients to make potions, then throws them at the ground for friends or foes to pick up. Although alchemists' base damage is low, they have a lot of room for creative play by using all the potion combinations wisely! - Matchmaking is back to 1v1! Having team games as the default mode didn't produce desired results so we're rolling back! The matchmaker should still make better matchups than the old 1v1 matchmaking. Team games are still of course available in custom games. - Speed potion has been significantly buffed. - Fixed some issues with joining games that lead to game getting stuck in loading screen.Patch 1.0.8 is live! New matchmaking!Mar 28, 2014 - Community AnnouncementsHey! Patch 1.0.8 is now live! Here are the details! - NEW MATCHMAKING! This is a big one. The new UI allows you to queue up with up to 2 friends to find a ranked game with similarly skilled people. - The matchmaking format is now 3vs3! We will probably allow other team sizes in the future but right now we want everyone to play together without fragmenting the player base. 1vs1, 2vs2 and 4vs4 are of course still available in custom games. - A preview of our next hero class, Alchemist, has been added to the heroes page! The hero itself is coming next Friday but you can check out the model and abilities in advance. - "Other players" tab in the friends list now sorts by rank. - Items can be sorted by name, level or suit. - Custom games no longer affect your ranking. - Balance: sharply toned down Stone Elemental's Earthquake damage Tell us what you think about the matchmaking, and especially what formats you'd like to see in the future! Have a sweet weekend!Patch 1.0.7 is live!Mar 25, 2014 - Community AnnouncementsHey! We just put up a small patch that contains a couple of bug fixes. Thanks for all the players that reported them or other bugs in the game, keep it up! We'll fix them all (eventually)! - Fixed a bug where the game UI could lock up if a building got destroyed while you had its menu open. - Pressing ready in the lobby locks your hero selection (this caused some problems with heroes changing in the last minute before, hopefully that's now fixed!) - Fixed message ordering in the chat box. Your own messages should no longer be in the wrong place! - Setup and chat windows now get destroyed when logging out (this caused two or more setup and chat windows existing at the same time after relogging). - Generally improved game menu performance a bit. - Heroes should unlock at correct levels without relogging again. - Temporarily removed collision to the middle cliffs in Snowy Mountain Pass. We'll put them back once the pathfinding is improved! - Crude Amber Crown: Changed stats "+200 starting gold" -> "+200 starting gold, -50 starting tickets" Additional starting gold is a powerful stat so we added a downside to the item: if your starting rush fails, you'll have a disadvantage in the form of fewer tickets. We've also added a secret work-in-progress test map up for selection in custom games! It's very unfinished (basicly just a bunch of cubes), but if you want to try it out it's there! It's a map with only one very long lane, with some shortcuts for heroes to travel quicker than minions. We'll be making changes to it before modeling and releasing it so tell us what you think!Patch 1.0.6 is live!Mar 21, 2014 - Community AnnouncementsHeya! Update 1.0.6 is now live! Here's the good stuff: - AN INTERACTIVE TUTORIAL! Yes! A step-by-step tutorial goes through all the basic mechanics of the game. We hope this makes the new player experience a lot nicer! - CHAT! A general chat in the client for organizing matches and general chatter. Stay tuned for lobby chat and communication methods during matches (map pinging for instance). - Miscellaneous: - Thrones now heal and damage heroes even if they are upgrading - Fixed an issue where people were disappearing from the friends list after hiding it Feedback on the tutorial is much appreciated! If there's something that's confusing or something straight up bugs out, or you think there's something we should add, let us know on the forums! Have a nice weekend! - FlumbaPatch 1.0.5 is live!Mar 14, 2014 - Community AnnouncementsHeyhey, patch 1.0.5 is a-go! Here's what's in it: - IN-GAME MUSIC! Finally in the game! We have a system that monitors the game and adds more layers to the soundtrack as the action gets more intense. For instance, capturing a strategic point or fighting with your hero increases the pace of the music. It's not fully finished yet so tell us how you like it! Look for more in-game music as well as menu music and other sound updates in the near future! - We've brought up a couple more game servers! It should help with latency issues some players were having. - Medium and hard AIs have received a smartness buff: 1) they won't rush into enemy territory in the beginning of the game, 2) they should get stuck a bit less, 3) they should generally be a bit more helpful. Easy AI is still nice and dumb. - Made the friends list work a bit more consistently. - Resolution menu now shows the current chosen resolution. - Relabeled "Single player" mode to "Practice" to better reflect what it is. - Non-host players can now move themselves to empty slots in lobbies - Hero armors have been brought closer to each other. This means damage to heroes is now more consistent. - Bug fix: sometimes when one team was full in a lobby, invites no longer worked. - Bug fix: fixed some problems with connecting to or creating a lobby - Bug fix: players who aren't the lobby host can no longer open the "AI settings" menu - Item changes: Bottle of the Badger: level requirement increased from 2 to 3, speed reduced from 2.5 to 2, strength reduced from 6 to 4, attack speed reduced from 1 to 0.5. Diamond Claw: damage reduced from 5 to 3, attack speed reduced from 1.5 to 1Patch 1.0.4 is live!Mar 11, 2014 - Community AnnouncementsYo! Patch 1.0.4 is now live! Here's what's in it: - Thrones now have effects for healing and damaging heroes - Shaman and Faun now have beam effects for the healing and damage they do (Faun is still missing healing beam though) - Thunderwell cloud has effects for attacking - Unlocking heroes after gaining a level no longer requires a client restart - Games can no longer get started if everyone but one player is ready and he leaves the lobby - Items that grant gold generation bonuses have been sharply toned down - Bug fix: Removed the tiny UI elements from the bottom left of the map Keep the feedback coming!Patch 1.0.3 is live!Mar 7, 2014 - Community AnnouncementsHey! Patch 1.0.3 is now live! Coming your way: - Graphics update: all Northerner buildings polished! - Added a "Players online" display - Fyre Engineer: Fyre Spray tweaked to be more powerful, other minor tweaks to make it more appealing - Bug fix: heroes are now unlocked at proper levels - Bug fix: Thrones now show proper radiuses when they're dealing damage to your hero - Some other minor client tweaks In-game music is unfortunately delayed until next week. It'll be sweet though! As always, keep the feedback coming! It helps a lot with deciding what we'll prioritize next. There's also a player-run IRC channel: #dethroned @ Freenode, join it to find new people to play with and discuss strategy! Have a great weekend! - FlumbaPatch 1.0.2 is live!Mar 5, 2014 - Community AnnouncementsHey there! Patch 1.0.2 is now live! Here's what's in it: - Fixed server issues with player names that contain special characters. This made a lot of games get stuck in the loading screen or kick people out of their own lobbies. - Re-enabled items in the game! They should now show up on the left side of the screen during a match. - Put a "Allow random invites" toggle box in the friends list so people don't want them don't get spammed. - Fixed an issue where getting a match invite in the score screen would jam the UI. - Added a new display that appears in the bottom right corner when server maintenance is happening soon or currently happening. - Tweaked Beaver's Chain Explosion ability down a bit. We also have a new bug report forum in the discussion area, submit all new bugs there so other discussion in the general forum doesn't get drowned out! Have fun! - FlumbaUpdate 1.0.1 is live!Mar 3, 2014 - Community AnnouncementsHi! We just put up a patch that has some critical fixes: - Improved the friend list to a) display your actual friends, b) not be really weird. It'll still contain some non-friends as well so you can get custom games going more easily. - Heroes you have unlocked with gameplay should now be available as intended. - Made the lobby Ready button more obvious. - Removed some screen blurring that happened on higher graphics settings when tutorial texts were visible. - Several other small server tweaks. As always, report all issues to the discussion area! We'll be rolling out updates almost daily. Cheers! - Flumba
