Patch Notes 1.13 - More Randomizer OptionsMay 12, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsPatch Notes 1.13 New Randomizer Options With this patch we are adding 3 highly requested randomizer options that you can opt into when starting a new campaign, which are as follows: Random Passives: When promoting or class changing, units will receive a random passive in the slot for that class tier Random Abilities: When promoting or class changing, units will receive a random ability in the slot for that class tier Random Loot: When killing an enemy with loot or looting a chest, that loot will be randomized I think these are our most fun randomizer additions yet, can't wait to see what goofy things happen in your campaigns with these now available! I am a big fan personally of random loot in particular, as it really changes the meta progression in significant ways. Particularly this can bypass the death scripts and cause some unintended functionality like the resurrection ability failing to target that unit or not receiving a wound/ending the level on Demonic difficulty. If you run into one of these things - I am working on getting it fixed but want to be careful around pushing changes for it to the live build since there are so many different ways that these scripts interact. When I've had time to properly test it and make sure all is well I'll have a fix out for it soon! Fixed an issue where buying the lowest item in the shop then attempting to buy the empty slot could cause a crash on controller Fixed an issue where selling the lowest item in the shop then attempting to sell the empty slot could cause a crash on controller Patch Notes 1.09 - Some Small New FeaturesApr 3, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsPatch Notes 1.09 Took a small ~1 day hiatus from bug fixing to add some of the most highly requested features, and will be returning so fixing things up now! Hope you have fun with the new additions! New Options There is now a toggleable option to make it so your levelups don't auto advance. Stare at them as long as you like! There is now a toggleable option to make it so fast forward is automatically on. It is still changeable with a click, but for any case where fast forward is appropriate, it will begin on with this option toggled. New Campaign Customizations Shuffled Unit Aptitudes: This randomly adjusts each individual unit's aptitudes, swapping them around randomly. Shuffled Unit Passives: This creates a pool of all 20 unit passives and assigns them at random to the team. Shuffled Unit Personals: This creates a pool of all 20 unit personal active abilities and assigns them at random to the team. Keep in mind that these new campaign customization options are fairly experimental, so you may run into untested interactions with them. I'll be sure to get anything serious with the mode patched up ASAP if it pops up, just make sure to report it in the Steam forums or our discord!Patch Notes 1.08Mar 31, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsPatch Notes 1.08 Small patch today with one very important fix for the final chapter as I work on better itemizing what I need to get through this week and planning out some work looking further ahead. This was one of the more commonly experienced game breaking issues so if you ran into something similar there is a really strong chance it was this. Changed the text of the kindling ring to better suit its effect Fixed an issue with enemies not spawning with correct stats when the random enemies customization was live Fixed an issue with the radiance ring applying blind to allies in AOE Restoration spells Fixed an issue where class changing could override menu functionality and crash the game Fixed an issue where over 100 xp could be gained, resulting in a lost levelup Fixed a crash where poisoned units with mastery below 0 could cause ability scaling to break. An LTC is when you attempt to clear the content in the fewest possible turns. Some more details are as follows: 2 copies of Dark Deity 2 will be provided on launch to the 2 best finishers on Demonic Difficulty. 3 copies of Dark Deity 2 will be provided on launch to the 3 best finishers on Deity Difficulty. All five winners will also get a copy of Dark Deity 1 free! Submissions will be collected in the Dark Deity Discord, in the ltc-competition channel. Just drop in and leave a screenshot of your run statistics. In the case of turn count ties, which is likely, those who post proof of their runs earliest will be the winners. Making a video game can be exhausting at times and a big part of what keeps us going is knowing that so many of you are excited for DD2. We are hurtling towards a final build at what feels like 1000 miles an hour, and I am really thrilled to get you all playing the full game soon. We'll be taking the demo down on January 2nd so we can spend some time taking in remaining feedback and maybe getting a new demo build with the dizzying list of fixes I've already made thanks to your help. I cannot stress enough how fantastic this demo round was for the state of DD2. Thankfully it was pretty stable, so I've had a ton of time to track down all those funky little bugs or functionality fixes and improvements that folks have been hoping for. A little peek at a couple of the more requested and high profile pieces: All map art in the game now has shadows, drastically improving map feel. Pretty much every menu now has hover tooltips that explain debuffs or stats. No more checking the codex to see what Heavy Bleed does - if you hover an ability/passive/item that applies it, it will tell you. Complete redesign of Chapter 3! This one had been on the docket for a while, but we have completely redesigned the chapter to play better across the board. Interactable tiles (seize, evacuate, etc) now have a tooltip that tells you their function when hovered. Character art now shows in the expanded unit view screen during gameplay The infinite staircase in the very first scene has been removed and replaced with a better scene. I will miss it deeply, as it had been in the game in some capacity for a year and a half or so. There are a couple hundred more small changes I could talk about, but I'll keep it to the essentials for now. For the remaining 10 days that the demo is live, remember that there are campaign customization options and the demo is built to be replayed with new classes! In the full release you won't be getting into the tier 2 classes quite so rapidly, so if you're the type of person that likes to plan out their builds this is a great opportunity to do so. We've got a long way to go before the game is fully where we want it, but I wanted to act on some of the higher priority stuff quickly for y'all while the demo is live. Also, quick reminder that campaign customization is already live, meaning if you want to tackle the demo chapters with exceptional difficulty or tweak things for a new run you can do so. The sandbox is built to reward creative play, so levels can be tackled at extremely high difficulties with the right team compositions! Content Included 2 additional story scenes from the start of Chapter 5 Features Added a codex that explains stats and effects (planning to expand tooltips in the future as well) Added the option to disable turn limits for maps that don't have a turn-based victory when starting a playthrough Added the option to select rolled or linear stat leveling when starting a new playthrough (RNG vs. Set) Added a hover-over display for shop items and weapons that displays stats or purpose Added ability ranges to several menus Enemies that have their range showing now glow purple Added a button to open/close all enemy ranges (Y on PC, Select/Back on controller.
