It’s been a super exciting launch week for Conquest Dark, and we’ve been closely watching all your feedback. Some of it has already been addressed with hotfixes, while other larger changes will take a bit more time to do properly. A few of the most requested changes will be included in the next bigger update. We’ve also prepared a roadmap to give you a glimpse of what’s coming in future updates including some of the bigger features looming on the horizon, like a new class and translations. Meta-game resources will no longer drop from normal enemies spawned during boss fights. Quick Dash and Teleport movement abilities now each have one base rune slot. Only the Yiln-rune can be imbued to this slot. Players who manage to exit the intended ritual area one way or another are now teleported back inside. (You can still exit it in The Pale Desolation...) User Interface: The Left Mouse Button can no longer be rebound to other game functions. Bug Fixes: Fixed a bug where right-clicking rebind buttons caused an error message. Fixed a bug that would repeatedly start the rebinding operation when a mouse button was held down. Balance: General: Enemy Tier 3 Health scaling reduced from 75x to 60x. Enemy Tier 4 Health scaling reduced from 250x to 200x The Obsidian Bulwark 'Increased Enemy Health per Tier Ritual Modifier' reduced from 125% to 100%. Warlord Belisandra Charge cooldown increased from 3 to 4 seconds. Cosmic Ray Damage increased from 50% to 70%0.16.2 - Early Access Hotfix 2May 4, 2025 - Community Announcements0.16.2 Early Access Hotfix Gameplay: Increased physics accuracy to prevent collision stuttering. Adjusted collisions in the Arena of Ikar to prevent bosses from getting stuck outside the arena. User Interface: Fixed Attack Force display bug on character sheet. Added more detailed error messages. If an error appears (red message on top left corner) take a screenshot of it, post it on Discord or Steam forums and restart your game. Fixed an issue where some players had huge UI size when starting the game first time. Fixed an issue in Pale Desolation where the Corruption level would be displayed even when no obelisks were in use. Fixed Conjured Blade description. Improved Obelisk tutorials to clarify that the difficulty increase does not stack with the ritual's Base Difficulty Modifier, so players can use obelisks without worrying about further increasing ritual difficulty. Visuals: Improved visibility of some enemy area of effect attacks. Bug Fixes: Fixed a bug that sometimes prevented the player from picking up Artifacts during the Akka boss fight preparation phase. Balance: The goal of the following nerfs and buffs it not to 'dumb down' the game, but to smoothen out the difficulty curve slightly. Most of the buffs are for single target Primary Attack Abilities that were undertuned and struggled to kill minions quickly at the start of the ritual. Akka, Primordial of Gore Reduced Leap damage variation from 50% to 25% to make its damage more consistent. Jinn'Ora, The Desert Wind Reduced damage done by tornadoes by 50%. The Last Stand of Zaladon 'Increased Enemy Damage Ritual Modifier' reduced from 20% to 15%. 'Increased Enemy Health per Tier Ritual Modifier' reduced from 100% to 75%. The Obsidian Bulwark 'Increased Enemy Damage Ritual Modifier' reduced from 30% to 20%. 'Increased Enemy Health per Tier Ritual Modifier' reduced from 150% to 125%. Ravager's Axe Damage increased from 70% to 100%. Stray Leg Damage increased from 50% to 80%. Blade of Akka Damage increased from 130% to 150%. Thief's Dagger Damage increased from 50% to 70%. Oathbringer Damage increased from 50% to 80%. Hammer of Sol Damage increased from 25% to 50%. Energy generated per hit reduced from 3 to 2. Conjured Blade Damage increased from 25% to 30%. Death Sweep Damage increased from 400% to 800%.. Seismic Slam Damage increased from 250% to 300%. Spinning Blades Damage increased from 250% to 300%. Solar Spear Damage increased from 250% to 300% Counter Throw Cooldown reduced from 0.5s to 0.25s. Lay Fire Traps Damage increased from 500% to 700%. Removed shader pre-warming at the start of the ritual, which should resolve screen-freezing issues experienced by some players after character selection. Increased Corrupted Blood damage by 100% in the Akka, Primordial of Gore boss fight. EXPERIMENTAL: Bleed can no longer reduce the player’s health below 1. EXPERIMENTAL: Added a mouse movement option. This can be enabled in Settings → Hold Mouse to Move. Ensure you rebind "Movement Ability" from Space Bar to Right Click, for best results, Auto Aim is recommended. Conquest Dark has been in development for almost three years and I am beyond excited to finally share it with you. What started as a simple hobby project to create something cool over a weekend has grown into a proper sword & sorcery epic. Now, it is ready to take its first steps into the world through Steam Early Access. What to Expect from Early Access Early Access will be an adventure of its own. Expect the usual: bugs, balance issues and the occasional performance spikes. While a roadmap is in place, it is not set in stone. Player feedback will play a significant role in shaping the future of the game, so please keep sharing your thoughts! As a final note, Conquest Dark is still a solo-developed project. Updates will come, but they will take the time they need. Quality over haste will be the guiding principle. The detailed roadmap will be shared in a separate blog post shortly after launch. Updated Demo and Early Access Release Date AnnouncementFeb 24, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsHarken, friends! Over the past few months, Conquest Dark has undergone significant iteration and expansion based on community feedback. Among these changes are the addition of collectible, upgradeable runes that can be imbued into abilities, further enhancing customization and greatly increasing build diversity. I've also completed a full balance pass on gear and abilities, including complete reworks of some and refined in-game mechanics—such as ensuring minor enemies can no longer interrupt player attacks. Additionally, numerous quality-of-life improvements have been made, particularly to the UI, and key mechanics are now better explained to reduce confusion. All of this is now available in an updated demo, playable right now, as part of Steam Next Fest! On top of these enhancements, I've also introduced a brand-new Thief class and added a new playable mode / level, The Pale Desolation, allowing players to explore beyond the boundaries of the Ritual Circle. There’s still work to be done before the game is ready for Steam Early Access, but we are now confident enough to announce that the Early Access release date is April 30th!
