Conflict of Nations: World War 3

LOADOUT SYSTEMMay 20, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsAttention Commanders, A few months ago, we introduced the Loadout System as a new layer of strategy and customization. While the core idea was received with excitement, we also heard your concerns and suggestions loud and clear. Over the past months, we’ve had one-on-one discussions with many of you, collaborated closely with veteran players, and worked hand-in-hand with our dev team to refine the system. Thanks to your valuable insights, we’ve made several meaningful changes that bring the feature more in line with how you want to play. Here’s what’s new: Key Changes and Improvements: Pharmaceuticals are no longer used to provide attack boosts. Pharmaceuticals are now focused on healing and defense boosts, better supporting unit sustainability. A Hospital is now needed to produce pharmaceuticals, replacing the Secret Lab. Healing remains time-based. Attack and defense boosts are now combat round-based, they activate only during actual engagements and do not expire over time. This change was made to address feedback about hesitance to use time-limited boosts. Expanded Munitions System: We added Ground, Sea, and Air Munitions with tailored enhancements for each. This highly requested feature gives you a powerful attack boost. Looking Ahead This is just the next step, not the final one. We are cautiously expanding and refining this system, and your feedback has been instrumental in shaping its direction. Please keep sharing your ideas and experiences as they matter a lot to us! This updated system is now available on all platforms. A big thank you to everyone who took the time to test, critique, and improve this feature with us. Your dedication to helping us build the best version of World War 3 is truly appreciated. See you on the battlefield! PATCH NOTES 2505-20May 20, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsAttention Commanders! Changes AI now sends peace offers instead of setting one sided peace, the treaty begins only if player accepts. A Dying World is upon us! Running from April 23rd to August 18th As the climate crisis escalates, the world is on the brink of collapse. But even in the face of environmental catastrophe, one thing remains constant …..war. Elite Armored Fighting Vehicle (Elite AFV) An advanced version of the traditional Armored Fighting Vehicle, the Elite AFV enhances naval combat with its unique abilities: Transforms into an Amphibious Assault Ship when navigating water. The Elite AFV is a formidable unit designed for storming cities with amphibious precision. Sea Mines Sea Mines are a new defensive tool designed to disrupt enemy naval movements and fortify your maritime borders. Stealthy & Single-Use: Sea Mines remain hidden until triggered. Heavy Damage: Once detonated, they deal devastating damage to enemy ships. Limited Lifespan: They exist for a set duration before deactivating. Deployable by Select Units: Mines can be placed strategically in shallow waters. Flagship Scenario: The Aftermath of Rising Tides A sequel to Rising Tides, this new scenario introduces river terrain, significantly altering the strategic landscape: Rivers Split Nations: Some countries will now be separated by rivers, creating new tactical challenges. Mark your maps, secure your intel, and prepare for what’s coming… Infrastructure UpgradeApr 3, 2025 - Community Announcements++++UPDATE++++ Upcoming Infrastructure Upgrade - Improving Stability & Creative Freedom Over the next few months, we are making major improvements to our infrastructure. Currently, our Call of War 1942, Conflict of Nations, Iron Order 1919, and Supremacy 1914 share a common infrastructure, meaning updates or issues in one title can impact others. To ensure stronger uptime, greater stability, and more creative flexibility for each game’s development, we are moving each game to its own dedicated infrastructure. Why This Matters Dorado and Bytro are committed to continuously improving our technology to provide a smooth and reliable experience. This separation will not only reduce cross-game disruptions but also allow our teams to push the boundaries of innovation without compromising performance. What to Expect Planned Downtime - Each game will experience a temporary downtime during its transition. We estimate 1-2 hours for the game that is split from the shared infrastructure, with matchmaking and game rounds briefly unavailable. We estimate a few minutes for games that remain on the shared infrastructure We will provide more exact times ahead of each split. Estimated Timeline: Iron Order 1919 – February Call of War 1942 – April Conflict of Nations – May–June Supremacy 1914 – June–July This is a massive project, and we appreciate your patience as we work to create a stronger and more independent infrastructure for each game. Stay tuned for further updates as we approach each transition. Thank you for your support! Alongside these adjustments, we've implemented several visual improvements, performance optimizations, and quality-of-life fixes aimed at refining the overall gameplay experience. These updates focus on enhancing the counterplay, aligning combat results more closely with combat ratings, and ensuring better balance for high-skill play. Additionally, we've made several UI updates, including improved hover effects for armies and progress bar enhancements to streamline the user experience across all platforms.  Changes:  Overkill System Balancing:  Overkill settings have been reduced by roughly 25%. This feature, originally introduced to help beginners and smaller stacks by capping damage, has now been adjusted to improve high-skill play and better align combat outcomes with combat ratings. We’re gradually reducing its effect to align combat results more closely with combat ratings and improve the overall combat experience. These adjustments are part of a broader effort to phase out overkill and better balance the game. We'll continue monitoring and rebalancing as needed, as some units may become significantly stronger as a result.  Missile attack damage vs Ships adjusted as follows:  ICBM damage from: 400/425/450/475 to 175/200/225/300.Ballistic Nuclear missile damage from: 250/260/275/315/325/375 to 70/90/100/120/130/140.Ballistic Chemical missile damage from: 20/20/20/30/30/40 to 5/5/5/10/10/20.Ballistic Conventional missile damage from: 80/90/100/120/130/150 to 35/40/45/60/65/80.Cruise Missile Chemical missile damage from: 15/15/15/20/20/25 to 5/5/5/10/10/20.  The following units have been balanced to counter missiles (cruise missiles - CM, Ballistic Missiles - BM and Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles - ICBM):  Cruiser damage vs Missiles from: 1/1/1/1/1 to 1/1/1/2/2.5.Aircraft Carrier damage vs Missiles from: 2/2/3/4/4/5 to 3/4/4.5/5/5/7.Frigate damage vs Missiles from: 2.5/2.5/3.5/4/4/4/4 to 2.5/3.5/4.5/5.5/6.5/7/8.Mobile SAM damage vs Missiles from: 2/2/2/3/4/5.5 to 1/2.5/3/3.5/4.5/5.5.TDS damage vs Missiles from: 12/12.5/13/14/15/16 to 12/13/14/15/16/17.Elite Frigate damage vs Missiles from: 2/4/8 to 4/6/9.  The following Ballistic Missiles, ICBM and Cruise Missiles have their splash damage radius adjusted and traits:  Tier 1 Ballistic Missiles removed Storm Position trait, now starting at Tier 2.ICBM splash damage radius from: 50/50/50/75 to 25/25/25/45.Ballistic Missile Nuclear splash damage radius from: 25/25/25/30/30/35 to 10/10/10/15/15/25.Ballistic Missile Chemical splash damage radius from: 25/25/25/30/30/35 to 10/10/10/15/15/25.Ballistic Missile Conventional splash damage radius from: 10/10/10/15/15/15 to 5/5/5/10/10/15.Cruise Missile Nuclear splash damage radius from: 10/10/10/15/15/20 to 10/10/10/20/20/30.Cruise Missile Chemical splash damage radius from: 10/10/10/...New ELO SystemJan 13, 2025 - Community Announcements++++UPDATE++++ Commanders, The wait is over! The much-anticipated new ELO system is officially live and ready to transform the competitive landscape for alliances worldwide. This overhaul ensures a more accurate, fair, and dynamic ranking system that better reflects the true skill and activity of alliances. Here’s a recap of what’s now in effect: Game History Recalculation The updated ELO system has retroactively applied the new scoring rules to your alliance’s game history. This recalculation ensures that past wins and losses are factored into your current rank more precisely. You may notice shifts in the leader board, but rest assured, these changes represent a more accurate picture of your alliance's performance. Decay System To keep things competitive, alliances will now experience a gradual decay in their ELO scores. Alliances inactive for over 90 days will face even steeper declines. Stay active and engage in challenges to maintain your rank! Points System The scoring system now takes into account the skill gap between winners and losers. No more easy wins for top alliances! If the difference between competing alliances is too large, no points will be awarded or lost. This adjustment levels the playing field and fosters fair competition. Ongoing Refinements This system is a significant step forward, but it’s just the beginning. We’re actively monitoring its performance and refining it based on feedback from the community. Have ideas or suggestions? Share them with us in the feedback channels on Discord! Thank you for your patience, engagement, and feedback throughout this journey. The future of alliances is brighter than ever, and we can’t wait to see how the new ELO system shapes the competitive scene.  A Decade of StrategyJan 8, 2025 - Community Announcements++++COMM-LINK++++ Commanders, We’re excited to share an exclusive feature on Conflict of Nations with Oliver Kutnik, head of product at Dorado Games, in a Pocket Gamer interview. Read it HERE Discover how CoN has grown into a multi-platform strategy game over its decade-long journey. The interview highlights the challenges of creating a cross-platform experience, the team’s dedication to innovation, and the exciting updates ahead. This journey wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our incredible community, whose passion continues to inspire us. Elite Alliance ChallengesDec 20, 2024 - Community Announcements++++UPDATE++++ Elite Challenges! Elite challenges are competitive matchups between alliances on maps where the use of gold is not allowed, ensuring a tournament level of fairness. This provides a more skill-driven and balanced environment for alliances eager to showcase their true competitive abilities. The time has come Alliance members! It's your time to shine! Starting in January, you'll have the chance to join Elite Challenge games and compete against other alliances to climb higher on the leader board. Prepare your alliance, gather your top players, and devise winning strategies, as you'll receive your first Elite ticket to challenge rival alliances in January. Elite Tickets In celebration of the return of Elite Challenges in January, the first tickets will be distributed to everyone, not just Security Council members. To qualify for these Elite tickets, you must be at least level 25 and have been active within the past 60 days. Please note that for future Elite events, Security Council will be required to obtain the tickets. How do I use the Elite Tickets? Tickets are used to participate in Elite challenge games after the opposing alliance leader accepts the challenge. Your ticket will only be consumed once you join the game and reach the Country selection screen. It's important to coordinate with your team and the opposing alliance leader, as we cannot oversee or intervene in any disputes or disagreements between players. To avoid issues, ensure clear communication with your alliance before using a ticket as tickets will not be refunded. Keep in mind that Elite tickets are different from public event tickets. You will be able to hold both Elite tickets and Public tickets simultaneously, as they serve different purposes. Elite tickets are exclusively for elite alliance games, while Public tickets are used for public ticket events. That's the end of the briefing Commanders! Adapt to the changes, turn on “Accept Challenges”, and in January the games begin! New ELO SystemDec 18, 2024 - Community Announcements++++UPDATE++++ Commanders! The new ELO system is just round the corner! The original ELO rankings didn't quite capture the dynamic alliance scene. After listening to our community a major overhaul has arrived to ensure a more competitive and representative system for alliances worldwide starting January. Game History The new ELO system will factor in your game history, recalculating your Alliance score by applying the updated point system to your past wins and losses. This adjustment aims to provide a more accurate reflection of your position on the leader board. While the revamped ELO system will deliver notable improvements to the alliance Elo calculation, you may notice changes in your leader board ranking due to the enhanced precision of the new calculations. The old Elo system hasn't always accurately reflected the alliance skillset due to its vulnerability to abuse, but we are now dedicated to making gradual improvements to address this issue. Decay System To combat player inactivity, your Alliance ELO score will gradually decay over time. Staying active by playing challenges to maintain your rank is now crucial. Alliances inactive for over 90 days will see an even larger decline in their ELO score. This system rewards more for winning and penalizes less for defeat and was put in place to maintain a level playing field and reduce the ELO score discrepancy between Alliances. Points System The scoring system now considers the score difference between winners and losers, preventing top alliances from preying on the inexperienced. This is a bully range that prevents victories from being too easy. If the score difference is beyond the bully range, none of the Alliances earn or lose points. The new system will be continuously monitored and refined to address and prevent any attempts by alliances to exploit it. Ongoing Refinements and Community Collaboration We recognize that the system may not be flawless at launch, but it represents a significant improvement over the current one. We now have the flexibility to adjust the parameters more easily and can be fully transparent about how Elo is calculated. During the holiday season, especially around Christmas when the team is on break, we'll still be active on Discord. We encourage all proactive and dedicated alliances to engage in the feedback channels to share ideas and discussions aimed at refining the calculations. Over time, this will help make the leader board increasingly representative and accurate. The future of CON Alliances is brighter than ever! Unit Frames UpdateDec 17, 2024 - Community Announcements++++NOTICE++++ Commanders! As you may have noticed, we’ve made some visual changes to the icons when zooming in and out of the map on mobile. After reviewing your feedback, we’d like to share more details about our plans for improving the visuals and icon behaviour when using the zoom function. Our goal is to reduce clutter, improve clarity, and provide better navigation, especially when viewing multiple armies on the map. Until now, there were only 3 zoom stages, but we’ve introduced a 4th zoom stage to reduce visual clutter when zooming out. At this zoom level, only pins representing army positions are displayed for a cleaner overview. Flags have been temporarily removed in the "mid" zoom stage to improve clarity. Flags will make their return in a future update. We are currently exploring the idea of introducing unique shapes for unit types to improve visibility: Square for Ground UnitsDiamond for Naval UnitsTriangle for Air Units This feature is still in the concept stage, with plans to use different pin colours and sizes to enhance visibility and make tracking your units more effective These improvements are being implemented to give you a cleaner and more intuitive visual experience when commanding your armies. We’ll continue to listen to your feedback as we refine and expand these changes. Thank you for your continued support and dedication! See you on the battlefield. Season of Desolation is Live! Following a devastating nuclear war that has plunged Earth into a perpetual Nuclear Winter, nations are in fierce competition for scarce resources and nuclear stockpiles as governments lie in ruin. Scientists have set up global research facilities to aid planetary recovery, but these sites have quickly become contested as countries seek to control the technology that could change the face of war. In this emerging new order, power lies with those who can dominate the planet’s recovery efforts. Introducing the new Mountain infantry In this new frozen world, the terrain has shifted, and not all soldiers or units are equipped for the harsh conditions. To address this challenge, we’re introducing a first for the game: A unit variant! The Mountain Infantry, a specialized unit designed for optimal performance in mountainous and tundra terrains. However, be aware that their expertise in these environments comes at a cost, while they excel in these areas, they lose effectiveness in other terrains, such as desert or jungle environments. How do I access this infantry variant? Achieving this is straightforward! Simply research your Motorized Infantry, and you'll gain access to the Mountain Infantry, ready to be deployed in the appropriate terrain. Stims This season, we’re introducing a new feature to Conflict of Nations: Stims! Stims will be strategically airdropped shortly after Season release! This game changing addition allows you to significantly enhance your control over military power. Stims give you the ability to temporarily boost the effectiveness of your units, providing a powerful edge in strategic battles. With just a click, you can activate these buffs, giving your forces an impressive surge in strength. How Do Stims Work? To use Stims, you'll need a special resource called Pharmaceuticals. You can acquire Pharmaceuticals by constructing a Secret Weapons Lab, or by acquiring them from the in-game resource market. Once you’ve gathered enough, research the Stims and apply them to any of your units to give them a temporary attack buff. Once the buff is applied the unit will indicate the duration and the effectiveness of the buff. Stims can be researched in 3 tiers, one being more powerful than the other. Stims in 4 simple steps: Build a Secret Weapons LabResearch the StimProduce PharmaceuticalsApply to any infantry of your choice This is just the beginning for Stims.
