Working here has been a fantastic learning experience and I am thankful for the skills I've acquired. I feel as if being here with you all each day has made me a more complete and well-rounded person. I've learned how to take direction, criticism, and compliments. These are three things I wasn't so great at taking before, and now I feel as though I can apply that in many different situations. I've also learned to be open-minded, to value other people's opinions and to consider other ideas along with mine, to end up with a great final result. Being part of a team has taught me skills that I can use in more than just the professional area of my life. My relationships on a personal level are in a better place than they were, thanks to some of the things I've learned from many of you. I've come to realize that being a part of a team is a lot more than just sharing credit. A team effort takes compromise. When you are on a team you have to at times lead, follow, and more often than not, meet in the middle. My wish for everyone here is that you all continue to experience success, to feel fulfilled in all you do, and to have nothing but pleasant results with each completed project! While that may be an overly optimistic wish, it is sincere. It's been a pleasure working here and I will truly miss it. I take with me fond memories, valuable skills, and I hope to one day leave an impression on others similar to the one you have left on me. Thank you for this farewell party and I look forward to hearing of your future successes.Officer ResignationNov 10, 2016 - Community AnnouncementsI am leaving here today with a wealth of knowledge I will always treasure. The largest seaborne invasion in history, the operation began the liberation of German-occupied northwestern Europe from Nazi control, and contributed to the Allied victory on the Western Front. The amphibious landings were preceded by extensive aerial and naval bombardment and an airborne assault—the landing of 24,000 American, British, and Canadian airborne troops shortly after midnight. Allied infantry and armoured divisions began landing on the coast of France at 06:30. The target 50-mile (80 km) stretch of the Normandy coast was divided into five sectors: Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword Beach. Strong winds blew the landing craft east of their intended positions, particularly at Utah and Omaha. The men landed under heavy fire from gun emplacements overlooking the beaches, and the shore was mined and covered with obstacles such as wooden stakes, metal tripods, and barbed wire, making the work of the beach-clearing teams difficult and dangerous. Casualties were heaviest at Omaha, with its high cliffs. At Gold, Juno, and Sword, several fortified towns were cleared in house-to-house fighting, and two major gun emplacements at Gold were disabled using specialised tanks. The Allies failed to achieve all of their goals on the first day. Carentan, St. Lô, and Bayeux remained in German hands, and Caen, a major objective, was not captured until 21 July. Only two of the beaches (Juno and Gold) were linked on the first day, and all five beachheads were not connected until 12 June; however, the operation gained a foothold which the Allies gradually expanded over the coming months. German casualties on D-Day were around 1,000 men. Allied casualties were at least 10,000, with 4,414 confirmed dead. Museums, memorials, and war cemeteries in the area host many visitors each year. A moment of silence would be greatly appreciated anytime during this day. I'll turn this into a forum thread in the Technical Issues Forum later today. Go to My Documents > My Games > COH Relaunch > Playback and delete the file called TEMP.REC. Also create a shortcut on your desktop to the playback folder because temp.rec will recreate itself. - Sariah In the event that the above suggestion does not work, you can also try the following. Go to COH NSV (New Steam Version) in the Steam Library and click properties > set launch options, and add this line exactly as it is written here. -mod Europe_At_war. Apply and save the changes. Then launch COH NSV to run EAW. - Dartborne
