It was the first, and last, pure strategy game in the series to venture away from the home computer market. However, another platform was intended for this list, Nintendo's Game Boy Advance, and an unfinished version of the unreleased port has now surfaced online. A rom of the would-be handheld war game has been made available by Nintendo preservationist Forest of Illusion, for which you'll need a GBA emulator. Not much is known about the project, other than the morsel in question was developed by Toyonaka Studios, an outfit with little-to-no record online. What's here is bare-bones, an obvious tech demo of sorts that was perhaps used to pitch the project to developer Pyro Studios, and publisher Eidos Interactive. An old gameplay video shows the extent of it, you're a soldier running around an otherwise empty military sandbox. It's kind of creepy, to be honest, like this character is waiting for the rest of the game to arrive. The design choices do leave it feeling like quite a different game to the original. The graphics are much brighter and more stylised, to make everything easier to see on Game Boy Advance's tiny screen, and it seems to lean into being more of an action-adventure game than a point-and-click, given the characters controlled by the D-pad with no cursor. Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines, the first game in the series, launched a slightly frightening 20 years ago, back in 1998 - and, as I'm sure you're all fascinated to hear, was the third game I ever bought for my first PC, a beastly 486DX2, with 8MB of RAM, and a positively cavernous 280MB hard-drive. Commandos challenges players to perform the likes of sabotage and assassination missions, directing their six-strong commando team across a variety of pre-rendered isometric locations - using stealth where possible and only breaking out the guns when absolutely necessary. It's very good, very tough, and my overriding memory is that it made me swear an awful lot. Hopefully this addresses most, if not all problems that have been raised. Please let us know if you still experience issues on the Community Hub threads. Changelog: The shark in savo island is bugged, its reef is stuck out side of water and does not move you can see this in the entry scene and during gameplay Corocodiles are bugged, they are completely avoiding to come out of water just like the patrol units they are bugged as long as you do not dive into water you will not make them move. Any units inside the houses and other locations which has entry element (doors + ladders + etc) is bugged, they do not interact with the world at all until you go inside the house. for example go inside shoot them before you kill them come out and they should chase you outside but they remain inside and dont come out and in other words game is paused for them until you go back to the house and it exactly starts from the moment you left last time. Any interaction with houses + windows + ladders is bugged and not working, such as sniper cannot snipe from windows anymore (when he is outside and you want to snipe the enemy inside a house by targeting the window) this does not work anymore his scope is not shown. white death mission theme is changed to C3 train mission theme some ladders are bugged, your character can not drop himself down when you tap on right click the old school cheats "gonzoandjan" are no longer working on both legacy and new edition – New Cheat is PYROFOREVER Update - Huge bug fixes, Cheats enabled!Apr 28, 2016 - Community AnnouncementsHi Everyone, We have been reading all of your comments on the Community Hub and have another update for you all.
