My Early Access price was USD 10, and then gradually increased over time. At first, I thought the right price of a completed game must be higher than that. So I did some research on other titles as well and eventually decided to set the release price at USD 25 (I wanted it to be USD 30 at first!). Of course, there are many well-polished games from AAA studios selling at equally the same price but offering something of higher quality, and they are indie games that have lesser content but are higher priced. It is always hard to strike a balance in terms of pricing. Eventually, the feedback after a few days of launch is telling me that my price could be wrong, so I decided to adjust the price accordingly. I hope this won't cause too much trouble to those who purchased, if you are unhappy please do a refund and purchase at a lower price if you would like to keep the game. All I want is to hear some feedback or comment. Even if the feedback is bad I would still prefer it over no feedback at all. Bug: Missing Sword (As mentioned in one of the reviews) Solved a bug where the sword will disappear due to the skill "Teleport Sword" has been interrupted when activating another skill immediately (i.e. Pressing "1" to activate the Teleport Sword skill and then pressing "2" to activate another skill immediately). This causes the logic to respawn the sword has been skipped. This patch will solve this bug. 2. In the "New Game" in the Main Menu, the "Main Story" button is now above the "Prologue" button. This is to encourage players to play the "Main Story" first before trying the "Prologue". The FULL Release is Available now!May 6, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsWe are glad to announce that the game has been fully released today! This has been a really long journey. Until now, I still remember the day (back in 2018) when I started this project as a solo developer, everything was exciting and fresh. I started the project in the low poly art style because I am not an artist. Low Poly version of the game at the beginning: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36230662/b08db0e70a4f32f6a286e6d7f60d48fd84da5b83.jpg I even created a playable demo in just 3 months, the project had been progressing well. Then I showed the gameplay video to a friend and he was very keen to work together. I rejected him a few times as I prefer to go on my own and I don't really like to partner with someone I know. However, he insisted and even showed me some of his works. So I thought why not? Then things started to escalate very quickly and I scraped everything I worked alone to start a new project, even changing the story and gameplay. We participated and showcased in a few events like Armageddon in Christchurch and Auckland. I hired a team with my own saving to progress faster, everything looks like it was a real business now. I hired a writer who is supposed to write the story and my friend did not like it. He started to create trouble and even distrust me by excusing me of siding with the writer instead of him during our discussion about the story development. As I see this as a business but for him as a hobby project, I decided to stop the partnership and return to being a solo developer. Upon taking over the art and game world design again, I realize the current game world was very demanding in terms of hardware, and the FPS dropped dramatically when I try to add more content to it. So I made a bold move to scrap everything AGAIN and created COG v2.0, which is the game world that you see right now. Then I hit another issue - my saving was depleting to almost zero. We were forced to move to a smaller house, and I was lucky enough to have a supportive wife who decided to go out and work to feed our family (she has not been working for a while). At the same time, I was REALLY lucky and blessed to be awarded the Epic MegaGrants, a fund that saved the project. Instead of utilizing the fund as my salary, I spent it to hire a new writer from Australia to keep the project alive. (Well, I hope I had heard about ChatGPT earlier lol). However, the fund I received was not a big sum and to finish the project I need more fund. Hence, I decided to launch a Kickstarter project. It takes a long way to get here so I am grateful that finally, I can announce that the game is completed. For those of you who had played the earlier versions previously, and saved the game, you may continue to load the previous save games. It will not cause any issues, other than some items might be missing as I have reorganized some codes. However, I do encourage you to start fresh again because I have added some new content at the beginning of the games as well, so it’s good to explore Azerdore again. I have a few testers who have done between 15hrs to 17hrs of playtime, as compared to the 3-4 hrs game time in the previous update, this update includes significantly larger content. That being said, although we have done a fair bit of testing internally, before releasing it to you, we believe there are still glitches to be uncovered. Hence, if you do come across any funny or suspicious behavior, or login, please do not hesitate to report it to us in the Discussion Board or simply chat with us in Discord (Link: https://discord.gg/JA4hrYR). Going forward, I will spend time on debugging and work on any improvement if I received any suggestions. Now that the game has been fully developed, I will set a deadline to leave Early Access and make it an officially released game. I know this is an overdue update (it was supposed to be 31 July), I apologize for the delay. It's more complicated than I thought to release an update I feel satisfied with. So I had to spend extra time working on it. Nevertheless, we are here now - a major update with more content! Let's dive straight into this update and see what's new: Main Story in Arnstone: this leads to collecting the next sacred stone, and opens up the next part of the main quests to collect the remaining 3 stones. Previously done areas are now explorable again: Evermore Woods, Upper Grove, Cave of Darkness (with a side quest in it), etc. You can return to Azerdore now after obtaining the dragon. Weapon Upgrade System: Now you can upgrade weapons with the blacksmith Polished environment: mainly grass and ground foliage The large landscape is now separated into a few islands: this is done so with the purpose to make it more fun to explore and navigate, and this helps to improve in terms of performance too. Organized all items: Now if you load from previous save files, you will notice all items are gone (including arrows and potions), these are not unique items and can be acquired again, I hope this won't trouble you too much to recollect them. The update ends at the part where you are free to explore the world and ready to collect the remaining 3 sacred stones. Although you can load from the previous save files, I would encourage you to try a new game instead, this time, spend some time exploring the Hulshire area before you finish off the quests in the area, places such as Cave of Darkness, Southern Grove and Blacksmith Hut in particular. I hope what I had prepared for you in these places would add fun to your experience, in both exploration and fighting. The next update is scheduled to be done within 2 months - where you collect the remaining 3 sacred stones and get ready for the final challenge that awaits you. Thanks a lot and appreciate all your support so far.Quick Development UpdateAug 27, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsDear players, I hope all of you are well and staying healthy. I just wanted to give a quick update regarding the development and what's going on. I initially planned an update at the end of July, but I have scrapped that and decided to combine it with the next update to make it a more significant update, so you don't have to update multiple times. In the next update, you will be able to ride on the dragon to explore the world, go to more places, and figure your way out to collect the gemstones. This update will be released before the end of September. Then in a few months' time, perhaps, by the end of the year, I can release a final version of the game. That's basically the plan I have for COG, a lot of things happened in the past, and I am glad I could persist through this journey. The idea of COG started back in May 2018, and the first demo has been released in Dec 2018. This demo was in low poly art style which I am comfortable working with. Going into semi-realistic actually takes a lot more work than low poly art. Especially for a programmer like me who has no artistic skill at all, I can only rely on Unreal's marketplace to supply me with whatever model or artwork that I need, sometimes I get what I want, but most of the time I don't. Anyway, this update is not about my development story, so I will stop here and show you some screenshots of what you could expect from the next updates. What this update is about: Improved control and animations of Amelia Improved the overall performance of the game, now we can have more stuff going on without killing the performance. Changes to the main story to allow dragon mount to be obtained earlier in the game. Adjusted the game world to allow players to move around the world freely without annoying constraints such as the invisible walls. Reworked all cinematics, now we are using static image style with camera movement. This decision is to make sure I can complete the remaining cutscenes alone.
