Cosplay Club - Early Access Dec 14th!Dec 11, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsHey all! We're happy to annouce that this next Dec 14th we'll be launching our game Cosplay Club on Early Access, here on Steam. A couple of weeks ago, our Kickstarter backers received access to the first chapter of the game and have been enjoying it so far. Because of that immediate good response, we decided to let you all be envolved with its development through the Early Access program. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1172180/Cosplay_Club/ Why Early Access? We've chosen to release Cosplay Club through Early Access to involve our community in the game's development journey. We aim to gather valuable feedback, insights, and suggestions that will help us refine and enhance the gaming experience. This collaborative approach allows us to build a game that resonates with the preferences and expectations of you all. It all started during the Kickstarter in 2022, and we want to continue exploring this path. The duration of the Early Access phase will depend on the feedback and input we receive from you all. We are committed to delivering a polished and engaging experience, and the Early Access period will continue until we feel that the game has reached a level of quality and completeness that aligns with our vision. It will be mostly around 9 to 12 months, and even after that, we plan to continue to integrate new content. The Early Access version serves as a foundation, offering players the core mechanics and features of Cosplay Club. Throughout the Early Access phase, we plan to introduce new content, refine gameplay elements based on player feedback, and address any identified issues. New game's name From now on, we'll be refering to our game as Cosplay Club. We wanted a more friendly and catchy name, and funny enough everyone was already calling it by this name. So it makes even more sense to change it permanentely. But we all know how important the Mahou Senshi part is to us and to the game's theme, so it will be forever on our history. We're here because of you! Let's not forget how important is your collaboration in this project. Because of you we manage to get where we are, and we are finally able to make this game available to everyone else. Thank you very much for being part of our community! Join our Discord More than ever, our discord server will serve as a hub for everyone in the community. We'll be talking about the early access builds, patch updates, the content milestones, and everything else. Let's share some costumes over there! See you soon on Dec 14th! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1172180/Cosplay_Club/Last 6 hours of the Kickstarter campaign! 350% funded!Dec 8, 2022 - Community Announcementshttps://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/4653571/b6f56ea6f6fa3562ba475e81f7be0478572a620a.png Come be part of the last hours of the Kickstarter campaign. We just revealed our new crowdfunding project and we're hoping to have the same success that we had in 2013 with Chroma Squad. Do you remember the manager RPG about Power Rangers and TV Show? “Getting back to the Kickstarter once again is not for the faint-hearted. Chroma Squad in 2013 was a huge undertaken, but it was a very successful one.” said Saulo Camarotti, the lead creator of the studio. “Today we’re getting back to crowdfunding, but we want to bring more experience and maturity to the project” he completes. The new project is called Mahou Senshi Cosplay Club, where the studio is focusing in creating a story driven RPG with their very well-known twist of mixing realities of imagination and meta reference. This time a Magical Girl gets her power from starting a journey in becoming a Cosplayer, and the game will allow you to create costumes and fight in turn-based battles using the costumes you create. The game features a complete RPG set in a cosplaying world. You’ll have the opportunity to explore events and exhibitions to participate in cosplaying contests. Through exploration, you will expand your inventory with new materials and design parts so you can be more creative on crafting new costumes. We're looking for support to complete the game on Kickstarter and we've put some interesting options in the pledge list, such as buying access to an early playable build of the game, or even becoming an NPC cosplayer inside the game that looks just like you and would be wearing a nice cosplay of your choice. Mahou Senshi Cosplay Club will be heading first to PC and Major Consoles, and it is expected to release in 2023 upon the success of the Kickstarter. If you want to check out their crowdfunding page, please go to http://www.playcosplayclub.com. https://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/4653571/29be6f5339c2fbadb914e6789e9e39d621db5815.gif Behold Studios was founded in 2009 and is known for games like Knights of Pen & Paper, Chroma Squad and Out of Space. Here are the patch notes for the version v0.8.01b4! The online multiplayer mode is now available for everyone who owns the game! As usual, items tagged as were changed based on community feedback. https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/4653571/defa9ba2595c836dba88eb930b6ffc459d583b73.png ONLINE MULTIPLAYER (LIVE!) Well, it took long enough, but we finally managed to get the online multiplayer in the same state as the local play. That is not to say it is perfect or totally free of bugs, but it is totally playable and it should be a great opportunity for those who never played Out of Space as it was intended to be played: cooperatively. Friend invites on Steam are right around the corner, but not yet available. That means that if you want to play with friends, you must all be in the same region (settings) and try to go online at the same time. Having “best region” selected is not currently working for matchmaking. It should not be too tough now that not many of you will be playing at the same time, but we are sorry for this temporary inconvenience nonetheless. ACHIEVEMENTS AND PROGRESSION As said in our community server, this was one of those features we always knew the game needed, but we only just got to a point in which it is possible to implement it. It’s supposed to be something pretty simple to understand: at the start, part of the content that was available in the game until the last update will be unavailable. It will all become available again once the players unlock achievements like playing some matches, recycling a given number of items or even winning a match without cooking anything. We believe this will greatly improve the learning curve of the game, allowing players to be introduced to new items as they get more experienced with the game. Not to say some of the more challenging achievements that will encourage players to try to win matches using very odd and interesting strategies. CHANGES AND ENHANCEMENTS - Aliens AI reworked to behave more like it is trying to protect itself from the players and to have less predictable movements. They are also more responsive and active, to be more of a threat when left by themselves in rooms. - Changes on how the music gets compressed, reducing the size of the game and optimizing the loading time for sound effects and music in general. - The Recycler now has a queue of items and allow one player to throw items at it while another activates it at the turn handle. BALANCE Dog Its AI got reworked to make him more efficient and more responsive: - It no longer waits until getting into a room to start barking at aliens, meaning it will promptly stun any alien it finds along the way; - It spends more energy while barking, but lasts twice as long while idly following the players; - It will now prioritize barking at unstunned aliens instead of stun-locking the same alien until it runs out of energy; - The Dog will always get its energy full when fed, regardless of...From the same creators of Chroma Squad and Knights of Pen & Paper...Apr 24, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsOut of Space is now available in Early Access! https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/4653571/f6d158700858e9ee8291055e33d7d1f21bdc7cb1.jpg Our game is currently purchasable through Steam! Important to state that the game is fully playable, but still in development. This means that those who choose to get the game now will be joining us while we learn what the community likes and expects from the game and use that to make it better for everyone. It's going to be great to have the game accessible for players outside our Discord Community as well! Open development has been our thing for a while and we can't wait to open it even more. Talking about the community, big thanks to all of the members who helped us so far! You rock, honestly. If you are interested in joining us along this Early Access journey, you can get the game with 15% OFF on the link below: https://store.steampowered.com/app/400080/Out_of_Space/ What is Out of Space? Strategy co-op multiplayer game about living on a spaceship with your roommates. You'll need to generate resources, take care of a deadly alien infestation, upgrade your appliances and build your own sustainable space home. Living together is never easy, especially when you are in outer space! Why Early Access? Our process of developing games has always been very open to the community in the past. We usually show our games under development in more than 10 events throughout the year and we find that to be the best approach to making games. We want to make the game for the community, and instead of us trying to guess what you want, why not making it an open process? Our project Out of Space has already benefited from the feedback of the community during its first versions. Since 2018 we're doing livestreams on Twitch/Youtube and keeping everyone engaged in our official Discord Server. By releasing this game in Early Access, we hope to continue to grow our community and get more people involved in its development. Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access? We plan to have it on Early Access throughout 2019, but we're open to extend it depending on the community feedback.” How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version? We want that the final version of the game to give a sense of completion to the player, with missions, achievements and unlockables, a complete tutorial and the ability to play with your friends or anyone online. The main goal is to make a game interesting enough to keep you going back for more for every match. Right now, we have a fun and almost feature complete match, but we lack persistence and progression to enhance the game’s replayability. What is the current state of the Early Access version? Out of Space contains the most important features of the in-game match: The ability to buy and build new technology, the need for taking care of your stamina/fatigue and your hunger, the procedural level generation, the basic resources, batteries ...Free Episode Creator and Steam Workshop support for Chroma SquadFeb 23, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsThe indie superhero TV show studio simulator is now more meta than ever! Remember when, way back in 2013, Chroma Squad almost reached our Kickstarter stretch goal for an Episode Editor? Back then I was just a backer like you. A few months later, I was brought on board to help the Behold Studios team in making this dream come true! Slowly, throughout the years, we kept improving the game, surprised and motivated by how much love it got from you, our fans. You never forgot about Chroma Squad, so neither did we! Last year we saw the “Director’s Cut” free update, with lots of much-requested features such as the New Game+ and controller support. And today we are officially releasing the Beta version of our Episode Editor! http://cdn.edgecast.steamstatic.com/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/7040097/37dd95c635a3a0008363a25e3cd67495b4ec2063.jpg What can you do? With the Episode Editor you can create episodes as complex (or even more!) as the ones in the game. You can create your own stories, dialogue, fights, giant robot battles, surprising twists and “funny” puns. Oh boy, I wish we had this tool back in the day - it would have made development so much easier! But it is here now, and it is yours. It is still rough around the edges, and we need your help to test it and to tell us what we can do to improve it. http://cdn.edgecast.steamstatic.com/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/7040097/f1179ef50d81b43a38ae15b6e8e56789ab2f214d.jpg The only major limitation is that you cannot add your own media such as sprites and sounds (yet!), and you also cannot add or manipulate special objects in the environment (such as the bombs from Season 5 or Monster Portals). Apart from that, the sky is the limit - you have access to all maps, bosses, enemies, characters, sound, music, and special effects from the official Chroma Squad campaign! You can create adventures that slot in the regular campaign, or create stand-alone stories or even campaigns - it’s up to you! How do I use it? If you want to create episodes or simply play the creations of other people, you just need to follow these simple steps: http://cdn.edgecast.steamstatic.com/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/7040097/482a250ef4466e131bd167d0bde7be1568f3da6f.png 1. On the “Select the beta you would like to opt into” drop-down menu, select “public-beta” 7. Click on “CLOSE” to close the Properties window 8. Wait for the download and play the game! After launching the game, the Episode Editor BETA can be accessed from the Main Menu on the bottom-left corner of the screen. Documentation & Tutorials These are under development! We will share them with you as soon as they are done. In the meantime feel free to ask questions here in the comments, in the Steam Forums, or tweet directly to me @markventurelli or @beholdstudios. Also, thanks for the patience - we know there are still bugs to be fixed, and we are working on it. We've seen your reports in our bug report system, as well as on the forums, reddit and even Twitter. Thank you for helping in making this game better! :) Today we are addressing most of the things you've reported, but there's still work left to do. Especially, I'd like to talk about two things. 1) If you are on Mac or Linux and have been having problems launching the game, we figured out why - it's actually a Steam patch problem related to us renaming the executable. That's why we were having it work for some people but not work for others. **TO FIX THIS ISSUE** - Go to your Library, and right-click "Chroma Squad"; - Select "Properties"; - Select the "Local Files" tab; - Select the option "Browse Local Files"; - Now, on the game folder, right click "chromasquad"; - Select the "Get Info" option; - Open the folder Contents\MacOS; - Rename the file "mac2" to "chromasquad"; Please let us know if this solves the issue for you. 2) If you are experiencing a freeze on the final boss (please avoid spoilers and don't mention the name of the boss on the comments), we have fixed an issue on that fight, but we have failed to reproduce some of the cases that you have reported - we've played this fight over 20 times and it seems perfectly stable on our machines now. Please let us know if the freeze still occurs for you. If it does, send us a report with your email through the in-game system. We might ask you for your save game file to try and catch this elusive issue. That's it for today :) Cheers, ~Mark **Patch Notes** Fixed an issue where multiple pop-ups would stack on top of each other; Fixed an issue where changing resolution in-game would freeze the game; Fixed an issue where NG++ Bosses had more health and damage than intended; Fixed an issue with Cloud Saving on MacOS; Fixed an issue with camera movement not working properly with the mouse; Fixed an issue where the game would rarely crash when launching the last episode of Season 5; Fixed an issue where some gamepad labels would show up when playing with the mouse; Fixed an issue where the mouse cursor would disappear if you used a touch-screen-enabled PC; Fixed an issue where some Achievements were not working on Steam; Fixed an issue where the Chromatize button label would disappear after failing an episode; Fixed an issue where the final boss would freeze on its second transformation; Fixed an issue where trying to Resume a paused Mecha Fight would result in the game freezing; Fixed an issue where the Options menu would not close on the Studio screen; Fixed the "Save My Telly" and "Episodes Hero" achievements; Fixed an issue where the game would rarely crash on the final Mecha Fight; Fixed an issue where you could skip an episode in Season 5; Fixed several other minor bugs;First patch for "Director's Cut" version is live!Jul 26, 2017 - Community AnnouncementsHi everyone, Thank you for all the love and support you've given us since we released the "Director's Cut" super-patch! We’d like to thank you for your patience and support through all these years. To all the fans and backers: this game is not ours, it is yours! The "Director's Cut" free update to Chroma Squad brings long-awaited new features and improvements to the game. Let's go through each one of them! The adventure no longer ends after the credits roll - with the "New Game+" and "New Game++" features you can keep playing with your current party, facing randomized enemies and goals on the episodes, crafting new items, and perhaps making different story choices that could lead you to unexplored paths! The Mecha Fights have been completely revamped to be faster and more fun, and the random chances were replaced by new reflex mini-games! Difficulty levels have been completely rebalanced to offer a more customizable experience, including a new super-hard mode called "Heroic Difficulty"! We have also tweaked a few encounters in the game that were famously unfair or long (*cough cough* Mini-Kaiju Squad *cough cough*)! And that's not all - we also fixed some bugs and the game should be running smoother and faster overall! **IMPORTANT: If you don't like the changes, the previous version of Chroma Squad will be forever available in the "Legacy" branch on Steam.** And that's it! Oh, and if you like Chroma Squad, maybe you'll be happy to know that Behold Studio's new game, "Galaxy of Pen and Paper" is releasing this month, on July 27th. It already has a Steam Page: http://store.steampowered.com/app/349790/ Cheers, ~Mark and the Chroma Squad team === **Full patch notes:** *Interface/Combat* - Full Controller support; - Drastically improved performance on combat, removed lag spikes that would occur in large maps; *Mecha Fights* - Random chance removed, replaced with reflex-based mini-game; - “Hit Chance %” now represented as the difficulty of the mini-game (as Hit Chance gets smaller, click area diminishes and cursor speed increases); - Old Defense mini-game replaced with a different one with new "Shield" art; - Buff/heal skills now have a unique mini-game involving holding down and releasing the button; - All animation times and intervals between actions reduced by 50%; - “Defense” mini-game is now played only once per turn, instead of 3 times; - Director’s Instructions have been implementend for Mecha Fights; - New surprise features on Mecha Fights depending on the story branch you take (wink, wink); *New Difficulty: Heroic* - Enemies have slightly increased Health and Damage over previous Challenging difficulty; - Enemies no longer try to “spread” their attacks across multiple Actors; - Enemies focus their attacks on the weakest Actors; *NewGame+* - After completing Season 6, players can Load the save file to start over with the same party; - It is possible to play the whole game 3 times (Regular, New Game+ and New Game++); - All Studio Upgrades and access to Marketing agencies go back to Season 1 status; - Studio Upgrades have increased acquisition an...Free “Director’s Cut” Update Now AvailableJul 7, 2017 - Community AnnouncementsIt’s finally here! PC update is coming soon!May 19, 2017 - Community AnnouncementsIt all starts with a dream... we gather a group of friends and start working hard everyday. This is not just the story in Chroma Squad, it is our story as well. We know that you all expect so much from us, to fix all the bugs, to read all the comments, to release every possible feature and content... We're actually doing everything we can. We're are a small team of indie devs from Brazil, living the dream of creating our own games. Everyday we struggle with our laws, taxes, burocracy, prejudice and lack of opportunities. But today we achieved part of that dream. We're releasing a game on consoles! And we want to share this with you. The console version has some long-awaited features such as New Game+ and major changes for the Mecha fights. These changes are coming to PC as well in our "Director's Cut" edition. We originally planned to release it today alongside the console and mobile versions, but porting to consoles turned out to be way more challenging than we expected. There is no exclusivity deal or any hidden motive or agenda behind this delay. We are trying our best to release these console changes on PC, and will do so as soon as it is done. Someday we'll be as good as you deserve, but today, we can offer you this: a game made from the heart!
