Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered

Modern Warfare 3 remaster "does not exist", Activision insistsAug 7, 2021 - EurogamerA Modern Warfare 3 remaster "does not exist", Activision has insisted. Activision issued a statement to CharlieIntel denying recent rumours the publisher was set to release a remaster of Infinity Ward's 2011 shooter. "A remaster of Modern Warfare 3, campaign or multiplayer, does not exist. Any reports otherwise are incorrect," reads the statement. Read more Yes, there's another big new Call of Duty game due out Q4 2021Feb 5, 2021 - EurogamerActivision has confirmed plans to release a new Call of Duty game during the fourth quarter of 2021. "We will benefit from a full year of Warzone driving upgrades to our premium content and incremental in-game player investment, and we have a substantial opportunity to continue migrating the community to Black Ops Cold War as well as another strong premium release planned for Q4 in 2021," said Activision's chief financial officer Dennis Durkin in a financial call last night. "In our outlook, we are conservatively assuming Call of Duty premium units are lower year-over-year. However, with opportunities in-game across all platforms including the ramp up of Call of Duty Mobile in China we do expect growth in net bookings overall for the Call of Duty franchise." Most of the maps available to play at the back end of October 2019 were too big for their own good, resulting in boring play. Some of the maps were downright dirty. Piccadilly remains a blot on the Call of Duty multiplayer landscape, and I still have nightmares over sniper rifle glints peeking out from the safety of Euphrates Bridge. Add to this cluttered map design, a largely useless mini-map and upper-level windows all over the shop, and you got a camper's paradise right there. A year later, I am craving more Modern Warfare, and I feel bitterly disappointed that the game feels like it's being left behind as Activision shifts focus to Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. It's interesting to look back at Modern Warfare's first year of life. As new maps were added to the game, I found myself playing it more and more. I had a blast with the chaotic Shipment. I love the flow of Rust. And Shoot House is one of the best FPS maps around. Modern Warfare's close quarters maps are brilliant, and it remains my favourite 6v6 game installed on my console hard-drive. Yep, I think Modern Warfare is a better 6v6 game right now than Black Ops Cold War. Read more The legacy of fy_iceworld, Counter-Strike's divisive and hugely popular custom mapApr 22, 2020 - Rock, Paper, Shotgun I remember playing a Counter-Strike map in 2001 called fy_iceworld. It was a small simple grey killbox of a map that virtually anyone could’ve made within the first few hours of downloading the editor tools. fy_iceworld quickly became one of the most popular and divisive CS maps at my school. I was, of course, one of the haters. I tried to convince my friends to vote against fy_iceworld on our local internet cafe’s CS server, but they argued that I was just salty about being bad at it (which was partly true) and they forced the mapchange anyway. Similar conversations played out across countless clan servers, cyber cafes, PC bangs, and LAN parties around the entire world. To properly gauge fy_iceworld’s influence and legacy, I asked several working level designers for their takes. Should we love it or bury it? Note that it is just the singleplayer campaign we’re getting a remaster of – if you were expecting to be able to drop on some of your old favourite multiplayer maps like in 2016’s MW Remastered, well, think again, as multiplayer and Spec-Ops missions aren’t included. (more…) The best FPS games on PCNov 1, 2019 - Rock, Paper, Shotgun The best shooters endure. While other genres warp beyond recognition, there is something solid about the first-person shooter that makes it as dependable as a nice big AK-47. Maybe it s the gung-ho simplicity – look down a barrel and pull the trigger. It’s as fun to fire a double-barrelled shotgun from an early 90s FPS as the slick shotties of today. For that reason, this list runs the gamut from genre classics to those released in the last year. There’s bound to be something for you in this, our list of the best 50 FPS games on PC. Let s lock and/or load. Fortunately, from what we played of the open beta in September, the gunplay is not only as fantastic as ever but also as diverse as ever thanks to the new Gunsmith system, which offers a wealth of customisation options that affect the base stats of each weapon. We’ll walk you through how the Gunsmith system works in this here Call of Duty: Modern Warfare guns & weapons guide – as well as detailed numeric stats on all 37 guns we were able to take a look at during the Modern Warfare open beta. It's not to be confused with the first Modern Warfare, aka Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, released in 2007. Or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, released in 2016. Despite the name, it's very much a new game. Twitter user LongSensation spilled the beans on the Modern Warfare moniker this afternoon. I've heard this name previously. Kotaku's Jason Schreier has also tweeted to say this is legit. Read more This year's Call of Duty hasn't been announced, but some footballers have played itApr 24, 2019 - EurogamerModern marketing techniques require hype for big budget games well before their official reveal - and so here's a group of American footballers who say they've played the still-unannounced Call of Duty 2019 at a private event (thanks, AGB). War, shooting, killstreaks - all things we expect from this year's entry. If publisher Activision follows tradition, the game will be revealed via an event in the next month or so. Infinity Ward is on development duties this time around. Fair enough. In July 2017, we reported that on 6th July Valve banned over 40K Steam accounts for cheating, making it the single largest banhammer the company had ever deployed. Emphasis on "had", though. AM General claim that these Humvee-lookin’ vehicles violate their trademark and Activision don’t have permission, so they want CoD to knock it off and pay them damages. Their case pivots on several Call of Duty games, including Modern Warfare and Ghosts, featuring warcars which allegedly look close enough to Humvees to fall under their ‘trade dress’ — a type of intellectual property covering what a product looks like — and are sometimes called Humvees by name. AM General LLC said Activision incorporated its Humvee trademark without permission in the Call of Duty games, toys and strategy guides, Reuters reports. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered standalone release comingJun 23, 2017 - Rock, Paper, ShotgunLove a duck and stone the crows, Activision are finally going to sell Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered seperately. Because they’re a gaggle of silly sausages, they originally launched the revamped version of 2007’s wildly popular Call of Duty 4 only as a bonus included in expensive editions of the wildly unpopular Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Seven months later, Activision have announced they’re putting an end to this foolishness and releasing Modern Warfare Remastered separately. Oh, but it’s never that simple. The June 27th release date announced today is only for PlayStation 4, with other platforms to follow. What are you like! The silliest sausages. …
