Story ModeMay 11, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsThis update adds a whole new "story mode" (which is actually just a fancy way of saying "easy difficulty setting") to the game. It's for all the people who want to experience Beyond a Total Loss for the story/humor/sexy dialogues/stellar graphics/god knows what, but don't want the hassle of actually PLAYING THE GAME. Well, that's not entirely true. You still have suffer the gameplay to some extent and you can still die in all kinds of horrible ways, but staying alive & murdering your enemies will be a lot, a lot, a lot easier. And that's it and that's all (except for a few superficial improvements).April 2020 patchApr 21, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsThis patch fixes the following things: Not being able to pick something up when it's dropped in front of store owner Game crashes to desktop when choosing "Nevermind" after asking Warden to retrieve item Default clothing when upside down in meditation room Character Customization UpdateMar 23, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsThis update introduces the feature to dress up John Harry any way you want! Yes, the same precious booze you also drink to get your health back. So now it's a choice between survival and looking pretty. This is all the stuff you can buy: 6 beards, moustaches and a clean shaven face 5 hairstyles (if you count a bald head as a hairstyle) 6 completely new clothes (although some may have been worn before) 2 never seen before glasses 4 hats (HATS!) And also thanks to myself for creating these problems. Good job!November 2019 patchNov 24, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsSome stuff that was broken is now less broken or even NOT BROKEN AT ALL! How about that! I also wanted to let you guys now that the person responsible for all these bugs and mistakes has been given a raise and has also been promoted, because I think imcompetence is severely underrated in todays society and should be rewarded at every opportunity. But what makes this update special? Let's see: The prologue has been added as an extra to the main game* A major performance update has been implemented, meaning performance has increased about two to three times Minor bugfixing and stuff (not so special) About the Prologue In the prologue you play as Randy (the car mechanic who has disappeared in the main game). Randy has a bad dream, there is someone in his bedroom and on top of that they want him to make more moonshine. What a day! * The prologue was already available as the demo, but seeing as you can't play the demo on Steam once you've bought the game it seemed like a good idea to add it to the main game. (Which somehow wasn't as easy as it sounds!) So there!Patch 1.0.0.4: new achievementsJul 2, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsPatch 1.0.0.4 Aside from fixing a few bugs and spelling mistakes, there are a few other changes of things that people suggested/requested, namely: The addition of two achievements ("Now that's a workout!" and "Footsteps on the ceiling" - both for ordeals in the old hotel) A few extra cues relating to the choices which will decide which ending you get It is now possible to complete the meditation ordeal in the old hotel (initially it wasn't supposed to be solvable) Beyond a Total Loss is now available!Jun 18, 2019 - Community Announcementshttps://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/34907587/8560e858bfc78f08441c988f9f357e66d906f2ea.png There will be a 10% discount for the first week.Demo is now live!May 20, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsThe Beyond a Total Loss Demo has just been released! https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/34907587/1a97e56647b5f073a5a3d04c6b3902911c60e909.png In this demo (that also serves as a prologue to the main game) you play as Randy, a bad-tempered car mechanic and part time bootlegger.
