To access the "Ricochet Rumble" dungeon, you will need to go to the Challenges menu and have defeated the second boss in the game. This mini dungeon is not connected to the main game and focuses more on puzzles and precision throwing. It also features new art and a new mechanic. Why this update? Removed analytics reporting from the game, and the relevant game setting option to enable it (now that the game has been out for a while our updates are small and infrequent enough that this isn't really needed anymore). Today we're releasing a new mode we've been working on for the last several months, which should be a neat bit of additional content for experienced players! We've added a "Challenges" menu, located on the main menu in game, which contains unique standalone levels to play through. Currently there is a (quite difficult) Boss Rush challenge, unlocked after beating the game with ending A or B, and a Gallery "challenge" in which all the amazing art made by our poster artists for Batbarian can be viewed. Today, to coincide with our console releases, we've got a bit of an update for you PC players as well! Most noticeable thing will be a slick new animation that can be viewed on game startup! In addition to that we have a number of adjustments that should make a couple parts of the end game go a bit smoother, as well as a retroactive fix for some people who might have not unlocked some achievements properly. Hearts spawned during the final boss should no longer fall into inaccessible places. Adjusted the flow of the cutscene after defeating the final boss. This fixes a couple ways to get soft lock and the Trilich finally fixed the light at the end of his magic wand! If you played and experienced poor framerate we now default a performance setting to enabled on low end on machines. If you had problems in the past and didn't know about this option make sure you take a look at the Lock Gameplay Resolution option! Cheers and hoping 2021 is going alright for everybody so far! 1.1.17 Patch Notes: Fixed a case where a gate could push the player into the wall. Added check for more boss achievements when loading a save file in case they were not unlocked properly when they should have been. Fixed selection indicator sometimes moving to HUD items after dismissing the keybinding screen. Further measures to prevent cheese in an optional challenge room. Biggest thing people might be happy to see is a buff to how quickly Awareness scales some of the properties it affects :) Full patch notes can be found below! 1.1.14 Patch Notes: Buffed the rate at which Awareness affects player stun time, recovery invincibility, and health drop rate. (Vision, throw trajectory distance, and general loot drop rate were not changed and still scale at the same rate they did before.) Fixed enemies sometimes appearing frozen in the Palace. Fixed Gold amount not popping up on the HUD sometimes when standing on a Purchasable. Changed color of Ogre Leader dialog text so that it stands out from sprites in the scene more. Fixed first cutscene looking odd when ambient light assist is enabled. Removed old Russian subtitle from main menu, to align with Russian storefronts, which display the title in English. Fixed enemy type swaps that occur in some early game rooms after a point in the story visually popping in too late. Tweaks on Boss 5 to prevent it from arbitrarily attending to its wounds at odd times. Added max lifespan duration to thrown items to prevent situations where they could be spawned potentially infinitely. Tweaked a room in Forgotten Roots to make it harder to cheese. Now's the time to get it for 20% off! And last but not least, we're also bringing a big batch of improvements and fixes to the dungeon for all you barbarians. Here's a complete list of update changes: - Skip most boss intro dialog on repeat attempts on bosses. - Opened permanent path to a few rooms and a chest that were previously only accessible once. - Improved teleportation UI to make it more clear how you select destinations. - Fixed PS4 and Switch controller icon display when using Steam Configuration Support. - Fixed critical strike not working on big/small fire/ice elementals, and fire bouncers. - Can now one shot small fire elementals with ice aura pip strike. - Fixed the Goddess getting all hitboxes hit simultaneously (good luck). - Fix for big fire elementals sometimes leaving upside down ground fires after having gone though an area with upside down ground fires. The dungeon gets weird at times but that was a bit too much. - Removed some confusing switches that were there for "realism" of the place in the ogre fortress but never usable. - Double/half current hp when changing boosted defense assist (so that you don't get a bunch of empty hearts when activating it). - Fixed some map areas not displaying the appropriate names on the map. - Fixed a bug with the regenerating shield of one of the final bosses. - Fixes for elements of Friffle's shop and kids not maintaining state or getting reset properly when leaving 1 room away and coming back. - Fixed a lava collider in a late game Mournsalt room. - Improved exit game and reload confirmation windows fading out when confirming selection. - Improved some checkpoint positions. - Improved position of a lever in Darkcross. - Fixed missing audio source on lethal spikes with switches. - Fix for some parts of the endgame credits not completely fading out when they should. - Grammar fixes. Batbarian: Testament of the Primordials 1.1.12 Patch NotesNov 6, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsGot another small update today! Biggest change is a fix for the game not opening properly for some people who had enabled Exclusive Fullscreen mode. This change does mean that players who want to use Exclusive Fullscreen mode (as opposed to Borderless Window Fullscreen, the default), will need to re-enable this setting every session for the time being. 1.1.12 Patch Notes: Prevent launching the game in exclusive fullscreen mode (launch in borderless windowed fullscreen instead, which has always been the default). This was permanently breaking some people's ability to play the game after enabling that setting. People who want to run the game in exclusive fullscreen mode will have to adjust that setting every session for the time being, though it was inconsistent whether it was maintained between sessions anyways. Fixed publisher splash video not rendering. Fixed a certain upgrade respawning upon repeat visits to its room. Improved experience for a late game timing-based platforming puzzle. Adjusted timing, added health refills to allow for more repeat attempts, and removed the need to make a tricky throw after the main puzzle is solved just to unlock a shortcut and way out. Improved readablity on the intended way to activate a switch in a late game room. Made spider eye hint indicators in the environment in the late game more visible. Give a more clear indication of where to go after defeating a late game boss. Increased deterrent to attempt entering the fortress through a locked door. Fixed one branch of dialog missing a dialog option in the conversation when meeting the imps. Fixed a missing animation for a player character in one possible step of the meeting the imps cutscene. Batbarian: Testament of the Primordials 1.1.9 Hotfix PatchOct 30, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsHey there, we just pushed a small hotfix update 1.1.9 to address a bug with a checkpoint added to the game as part of the big 1.1.8 quality of life update earlier today. There is also a small change to ogre knife behavior we're including in this patch as well :) 1.1.9 Patch Notes Fixed a late game checkpoint that was added in 1.1.8 that was spawning players in an invalid position. Ogre knives no longer collide with other ogres, and can be thrown through metal gates.
