Azusa Re-Opening v2.9.0Jan 29, 2024 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/34184204/a0c479bf6f3ff43302d50bec601760ed005f1ccb.png Hello guys! Hope you are excited for the new wipe 2024 of Azusa! The main focus and changes in this versions will be an attempt to fix two major problems show in the previous one, based on amount of words typed, and grind time spent training (limited by food/nutrition) the old method worked 8 years ago, but nowdays this just promotes people/veterans that uses macros (and now chatgpt) that do nothing and just accumulate massive powers, while people who spend their time roleplaying for real and building their chars life and story ends up falling behind massively without real chances to catching up. Roleplay Points will now be used differently, we will have two separate, total RPP and Current RPP as before, but they will work differently, while they are still going to be able to be spent, they are meant to be used as some sort of "training fuel", as you train, you will relatively quickly/easily convert those points into stats/whatever your building. Before we go on, I have to re-explain the catch ups and caps etc of Azusa, as they will play major role in this new version: Instead of using PL as a base like before, the caps and catch ups will be using the total RPP as a base, but with some minor changes : - The game will just update the cap if there are over 10 players online. (this is to prevent reboot abuses, or night time abuses for better caps, or late game 3 players skyrocketing the cap then logging in alts to prevent new players to catch up etc) This means that now the gains ratios of the RPP itself will be based off the cap/catch up. This overall simplify everything, also letting people who been away to actually catch up properly etc. OK now you might be wondering, HOW WE GET RPP NOW IF ITS NOT BASED ON WORDS TYPED? ok. ok. I strongly believe that rewarding lengthy texts is a big mistake on rp games, and it ends up killing the good will on writing quality long rps, turning all rps posted into big spams to grind points, I miss legit long quality rps on a epic scene, that the person is writing alot because ALOT must be described, and not just because they want to collect the points, know what I mean? With that in mind I am aiming to return to the organic natural RP flow we used to have, while still rewarding the good rpers that is really living their chars: So to distribute the BASE RPPs, it will basically be off 4 main groups: Active played time of char life. Inactive time of char life. Rewards from Admins/ranked. Milestones. (I say base RPP because its modified by the cap/catch up, more total rpp you have compared to the active playerbase, less you will gain) All those groups have daily/chars limits of rpp(base) you can get from, and some requires recent RPs and players interaction to count/be considered. Justice in your haand~~ Well who else is feeling super nostalgic? Well, I bring good news: Azusa is coming back today! There are some slight gameplay changes, but main changes went toward making the game playable in recent byond versions Also one big note is: We are under new administration, the game will be headed by @Hadex and the team, events and story ideas, ranks and other things will be remade/organized by him and his team. Lets talk about the new changes: -The God's Path, this is a dimension that links the Underworld to Olympo! However only spiritual beings or people with 8th sense can survive there, the entrace in the underworld to the god´s path is behind Hades throne, through the wall. and to get through it from olympo simply go down the entire mountain and dive down, and you will reach the god´s path. There are a bunch of afterlife gameplay changes, to promote a more exciting gameplay for Angels/Demons and ofc to undead people, being able to create spiritual wars etc. -to keep this line the Judge of Underworld also have the power to judge someone (that is unjudged) as a Hero, and this will send them to Olympo alive. (then there they can try to become immortal as it will be easier to meet some gods there) -Spiritual Teleport will now depend on someone with Sekishiki power in a Sekishiki map to perform a ritual to work, this nerf on spiritual teleport promotes angels/demons to have a longer afterlife gameplay before just sitting on earth, and creates some interesting RP ideas of asking spiritual help with Sekishiki rituals! -Olympo Arenas, there will be "Original Instance" of the elemental arenas in Olympo, letting Heroes and Angels obtain their ordinary armors. -Armors will break more. I increased significantly the damage rates of the armors, this is to promote more of the armor rest-time dramas and real armor death/upgrades! So be a good guardian and take care of your armors! -Attack and Defence nerfs These status now need nutrients like all others, these status have been an issue on the last wipes due to them being way easier to train (and benefited some macroers with atk/def builds) that spar/pbag spammed, well, now it will be similar to the other stats so no excuses! -Harder Caps! Now we have a new setting to control the game overall progression, being able to set the game in a hard cap style, where the team can set up some hard caps making it easier to control the amount of grind needed to catch up and how difficult it becomes to go over the cap! Azusa has been through a downtime after the latest core changes and engine update, creating some bugs and leaving the game in an unplayable state, during this last period we have been working hard to fix and review every issue we could. New Interface Due to the engine's latest changes, Azusa's classic interface quickly became old and heavy, so I had to change to use some native elements of the engine, resulting into a faster experience. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/34184204/3affd705337c5ec2784abdff718650c6dbe45f48.png The most noticeable changes are the amount of elements that used to cover the play-scene now being docked, this makes rendering faster, and results in less amount of visual bugs. However the 4 new elements on the screen can be resized/dragged to fit the player's preferences; I will explain each of these elements: Top square is the Profile Display, here you will be able to see the other player's characters' profile information, this is also where the event window will appear when an event occurs nearby! Under the Profile Display you will find your chat, the most important element in a RP game. Far left is where your skills will be shown. Next to your skills is your inventory, and here is also where will display listed elements, such as contacts, and admin commands. Travel Changes Now that the screen range has been adjusted to fit any monitor, this long wanted feature is finally doable. We can now travel using the mouse, clicking in the destination will make your character walk there through pathfinding, letting you tab away or chat while you travel, but since you will always need to come back and click on the next destination, going full afk is still inefficient. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/34184204/dbe660b4826c9ab66410867bed375142c949ac80.png The required vigor per step is also increased to fit the new system, keeping travel the challenge that it should be. An important note is also that every "dead end" common zones have now changed. Every common zone now has sources of food, and some even have slightly more dangerous mobs. (so no more dead ends for your gameplay) Capricorn and a new Nature! Also would like to introduce our 10th Zodiac, Capricorn is finally here! At 4-5 tags you have a chance to cause the bleed effect. And at the 6th tag, you will be able to reach the Legendary Slash, a cut wave that deals the highest real damage ratio among all other tags: (4-60) in a ratio of 30%. You will notice a lot of Gods related mechanic changes, they will improve significantly the politics meta between gods and mortals, as they will depend on each other, Main Changes Lore Simplified (Olympian gods fighting for destiny on earth gets mortal body to interact directly with mortals in wars called Azusa) Karma Bound Removed (Evil and Good are now wider concepts, shouldn't be enforced by rules and every race and god is up to change their alignment as their roleplay seems fit.) Reapers can choose if they will kill their Good Side entirely or partially. (So keep in mind the direct result here may not be the final result!) I will try to explain our options; starting with the main change that will be in every option is the change on ARMOR RATING, the game have some settings that affect globally, for example year speed, catch up rate, etc but, this new one will define how much of potential every armors will give, so, if everyone is too strong in the server, we can increase the armor rating and this way keep them on the center lore of the story, regardless of the grind, a god armor will always be scary now, and a golden armor will always be relevant. Credits/Patreon perks for the game will be reviewed for an overall balancement and everyone's (patreons included) benefit, so we can really have a way better experience. All old lore will be scratched out, the lore was cool for reading and extra content but they didnt really helped the real rp to move, actually ended up acting more like a weight, so the reviewed lore should be VERY simple, as "Olympian gods fighting for destiny on earth gets mortal body to interact directly with mortals in wars called Azusa". With that said what we know as Karma bounds are also nearly removed, and gods only obligation with the lore is to fit each other's basic rank duty/god will (explained at character picking); Reapers will be able to kill off PART of their good side, or their good side entirely, it's up to the player. When a reaper is on earth or in Olympo, their power will be weakened kind of like how someone without 8th is weakened in the underworld. Karma changes also imply that Angels/demons/reapers/gods are able to march their own path. Hades and Athena could ally with one another in a war. Zeus and Hades could partner up to take down Athena or Poseidon, it's entirely up to the players. Keep in mind the Gods of that generation are representation on that specific Azusa; they are up to adapt to the situations going on as long as they dont break their rank duty. What does this mean for the normal player? This means that if the normal player who doesn't hold a god rank doesn't like what their patron god is doing, they are able to turn against their gods and even declare war against them. Persephone, queen of underworld, the goddess of seasons, brought the summer to our real world; but in Azusa she also have a lore-reference! And its time to meet her story within our roleplay universe! Ages ago, before the creation of Earth, and before the wars started; the creation used to live in Olympo, ruled by the Almighty Zeus. Back then, Hades was the Seraphin (Highest Angel position), and was known for his pure heart and perfect wisdom. However there was another very powerful Angel, Persephone; The God Will Persephone was so powerful that she have awakened the 9th sense and had what we recognize as a perfectly developed God Will, as the places she visited in Olympo, the sun shine brighter, flowers bloom, the fields were filled with life and even humans rejoiced her presence; and where she wasn’t, eventually ended up being colder and less exciting, and for this reason, everyone waited patiently for her visit; She was powerful enough to be recognized as the Seraphin, but she always hide her true powers, because she was in love for the actual Seraph, admiring his wisdom, she didn’t want him to lose his position. About Event Specific Admins will be playing key characters, while other players will be able to create Angels or Humans in the PAST OLYMPO map, and the interactions and how the story goes will be the definition of the backlore of these gods in each specific server; Keep in mind that KEY EVENTS will -happen- as these are headed events, only way to real stop a key event from happening, is by being a real time traveler. Congratulations for keeping a wipe for an entire year! We reached the second millennium IC for the first time in Azusa RP and we are heading toward the third! Alot of stories and generation went through the continent of Azusa, but we have also passed through alot of gameplay changes and updates! To commemorate everything we are organizing a free period, grab a copy of Azusa and start developing characters that can change completely the flow of the game story! And we are ready to receive a more casual player-base by introducing the new Azusa Battle Arena game mode! You can read more about it here! And while we are here, to keep this nostalgic feeling lets make a quick review of main changes of the year! The release came with the introduction of Azusa's trial systems!, a group of mechanics that helps players actions change in fact the world, unlocking new areas, objects, enemies in events that can be customized in-game with many features by the admin team depending on the global story! After the first months we introduced a big game changing feature, the complete re-work in the travel system introducing a mini-map of the continent, and alot of new concepts to the world positioning, being able to visit new custom smaller maps, encounter areas for when crossing with other players in your journeys and a complete review of how food and vigor should affect these adventures! Letting now the players explore way beyond the main-maps and use better strategy to take control of the world during Great Wars! Positioning characters in strategic places to ambush enemies would now give a whole new meaning to Azusa! Not to mention the introduction of a huge package of new armors with some very interesting skill mechanics! The new travel system opened space for even more interesting features to be introduced, the custom training that uses both, custom zones with the trial system to let completely custom training adventures to be set in-game! Being able to, for example, make a volcano training event line, where the guardian would have to practice on a rock surrounded by lava pits in a life risking adventure or a weight training push ups by a cliff, or anything the roleplayers creativity can design! Each with their unique dangers and status gains! Also in this period is when we introduced the new mounts to help at the travels, horses, kraken and possible custom mounts aswell! My favorite big change the game had this year, was the Battle tags, similar to the trials and travel systems, this one opened the game for alot of cool new features to still be explored in next versions! Azusa B.A gameplay relies in controling teams of 3 characters in arenas, using Azusa chess-like battle systems to develop perfect builds and strategies to raise in Ranked Battles against other players, or going through the story events that happens in the year 0, before the begining of Yeshua's war, by helping Altair of Judicium to get rid of the reapers that controls Heracles, conspire against the evil Grand Master to declare the start of a new Great War to set free humanity from the claws of Hades! A gameplay designed to be more strategic and casual then Azusa RP, in Battle Arena you can create 12 heroes, each being captain of their own team of 3 other members, obtain the legendary Golden Armors, and climb to the highest ranks building the perfect teams and strategy! Status are based by the character's talent build and their level, that are capped at lvl 30. Recruit new characters: talk with Amelia of Amare in the temple of Zeus, and have the actual captain atleast lvl 15 (costs 10 coins) Basic Training: Talk with Altair of Judicium in the arena inside the city walls to battle Guardian Trainees, or help the Farmer John in the farms is a great training for new characters, however the last one is limited untill you get too strong. Manage Team: manage the team of this current captain talking with Milo of Verum in the college inside the city walls, or with Yeshua at the Ghetto. Ranked Battles: Progress in Ranked Battles by talking with Nero of Pax in the external arena outside of the city. Obtaining Skill Points: Join Ranked Battles and your current Captain will gain Skill Points. Learning Skills: Talk with the same NPC that manage teams. Recovering Broken Bones: Talk with the doctor by the hospital inside the city, this takes 1 hour to recover one character, this costs 1 coin, characters in hospital can't join battles. Becoming Guardian: You can obtain guardian armor boxes by winning rank battles, higher rank means higher chance to obtaining a new guardian box, you can tell the element of the armor by the armor box name. New Perk, Ultimate Tiger, useable once per character, boosts their cosmo 30x to be able to use a deadly final attack, after the effect is over, the user will be sent to the limbo. Boosted the Armor Breaking rates New Cloth Recoloring concept system added in specific items Desert Robes can be recolored in 3 diffrent color patterns. To make the game more new players friendly, removed Catch Up from RPP usage, and transfered it to Level Ups, each level up while youre under the cap, will give you a % of the actual cap as a less complicated method to catch up to stronger active players, this will stop once you reach the cap. Nature mods from elemental combination is now level 5+ instead of 20 Buffed significantly the experience gains from spars and mob spars (5x and may be buffed again) Added a new passive skill that lets players upload custom icons and creating custom items, by using a ingame base and tailor, barber, or cosmo forge skills. Custom Common Zones can be displayed only for players with certain Trial IDs Bumping another player in Minimap will make both stop in the actual Common Zone. Angel and Demon teleport now takes them back to their last Minimap position. Vigor is used as resource in order to travel in the Minimap. Running out of Vigor will make you stop in the actual Common Zone Adventurers Heart perk makes you use less Vigor while traveling in Minimaps. Some small animals drop a vegetable. The non-rp server is addressed to the players that can't communicate in english nor portuguese, and no RP rule will be enforcered there; trials wise, only basic starting trials will be set up, and rpps will be obtained equally through time. To don't unbalance the game and take people out of the RPing servers, the gains will be the same. So take this as a good place to learn about the game mechanics before roleplaying seriously.
