Updating Login ScreenSep 6, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsWe just did a update to the Login screen to reflect the current status of the game, as we move closer to our goal to release early next year this login screen will show current news and server status.Arcfall Unreal Engine Migration UpdateJun 25, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsThis is an update on the current status of Arcfall. As you know, we have been working on migrating Arcfall from the Unity Engine to the Unreal Engine. As we wanted to wait for certain software options to be developed before we could start the transition process, it has taken us a bit longer than expected. We are happy to announce that we have all the needed software updates required to fully start the production process now. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/28537114/57d1ebae61fe8e7f69723fe765336218c2764fc3.jpg Unreal Engine 5.2 has been released which brings a multitude of options for developing a MMO in Unreal Engine. We have also decided which back-end software setup we intend to use for the MMO server setup which will allow thousands of players to play the game. With all of these updates, we finally have a solid direction developing Arcfall to the MMO game we intend it to be. In the next few months we will start with small progress updates to keep you informed; ramping up to a test version released early next year. The first test version will only include the starter area with one or two extra zones and will max players at level 20. This will mostly be open test runs over a weekend, after which the servers will be closed till the next test run. We want to test combat and basic crafting alongside Server stability compared to population in the first few tests. As most of the tech used will still be in early stages, expect many bugs during this time frame. First Live servers which are continuously open will commence mid next year if all goes well. At that stage, most basic tests would have been concluded and more in-depth testing of systems will be commencing. A new road map outlining the time frames mentioned above will be posted shortly. Discord Link Arcfall Upgrade to Unreal EngineNov 28, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsArcfall Upgrade to Unreal Engine Arcfall will be changing the front-end engine used from Unity to Unreal Engine. This gives better performance and allows further development of the combat system, moving to a action based combat system. This change will take some time, during which the current version will still be live on Steam. The first demo using Unreal Engine will be released for closed testing to players who have purchased the 500 Arcfall coin pack or higher. When the new version of Arcfall goes live, all accounts will be wiped. Any Arcfall coin purchased and used will be returned, allowing players to purchase new items with the fresh start. More information about this major transition will be released in the upcoming weeks and months.Pre-Alpha 6.5Feb 12, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsWe are currently very busy with some backend changes in our development. New websites will be launched soon as well as we are busy with a major upgrade to the server and client scripts which will be a big milestone. In todays release we have made some changes to certain things players have been asking. For those wondering about skinning, we are busy looking into how we can fix it as well as balance it further. Changed Quest "The Dead Rises" to require Rotten Rib rather than Rotten Meat for completion. Balance: Fire strike and frost strike now allows you to move while casting. Removed teleport effect from Sword Bash. Lowered Weight on 30 items. Crafting Glass Vial will now yield 20 instead of 10 items. New: Added new crafting recipes to lumberjack which allows players to convert different wood logs into sticks. Seasonal: 2 Valentine mounts are available to purchase from our in-game store. Pre-Alpha 6.4 Flying MountJan 3, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsThis is a small update. Christmas event is done and will be back next year. New resources added to drop from mobs we missed on last update. We also added first Flying Mount in our store. More flying mounts will also be available as drops from mobs in our next update. New: 15 new resources added you purchase from a vendor to craft with. 8 new resources drop from Ghoul and Tree Ent mobs. Fist Flying mount added to in-game store. (Be sure to logoff when on the ground or you will drop to your death when you are flying and logout) Fix: New tool recipes added last update can now stack. This year is going to be a big year for us, many changes, new content and combat system is planned for the year. Pre-Alpha 6.3 Christmas PatchDec 20, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsMerry Christmas to everyone and your families. Santa will be doing his rounds from now till Christmas, every day handing out presents in the game. With this update we changed how our Loot tables work and how loot is assigned to mobs. We realized to balance loot the easiest way would be to have a set value per mob and thus we can scale that value up dependent on what level the mob is. This does mean for now that some mobs will drop a lot of one type of item but as we now have this new setup we can add a bigger variety of items to drop. At the very least a player will receive a certain value of loot from a mob according to the mobs level. We fixed some bugs as well as added back in for Christmas some special items in the store. New: Added 12 new tools to drop from mobs. Added 23 new resources that drop from mobs. Added auto-self target when targeting a enemy and activating a ability that requires a friendly target. Added 10% durability loss for equipped items upon death, this includes tools. Be warned that items will be destroyed when their durability runs out so keep your gear in good condition. Balance: Added new Loot System which allows for better balancing of Loot. Mobs will no longer drop harvest / gather related resources. More Coin Value drops from mobs. Some crafting recipes will require reagents you can only purchase from a vendor. Bandages will no longer scale of Healing skill and reduced stacking from 20 to 2 Roasted Chicken will now properly heal 100 health over 10 seconds, increased cooldown to 15 seconds. Notes: Loot balance changes are not final, the new loot system will require more fine tuning. Pre-Alpha 6.2 Halloween PatchOct 18, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsHalloween update brings a seasonal dungeon, Mansion Hill. Gather Halloween candy and buy a ticket to visit this level 30 dungeon alone or with a group! New: New Mobs Added New Leather Armor added 2 new arrow types added to craft. Old Spellbook added to starter characters. Halloween Dungeon Mansion Hill added Can collect Halloween Candy from Pumpkins in trees. UI: Added display amount for items currently placed on a players instanced island. Added sort options for Crafting Stations for Name / XP / Level, Sorts by default on level Animation: Tweaked Mount and Player Animators to transition between swimming and land states more smoother. Balance: Spellbook damage increased, make sure to re-equip item to see changes. Server Changes: Added Claim Object tracking to keep track of how many objects are placed on a claim. Changed Movement System back end for Mounts, this first iteration will lay the foundation for Flying / Swimming Mounts. Added variable speeds for Mounts based on their current movement states, example is: Ground mounts entering water will reduce their speeds to 3. Flying mounts landing on land will switch to ground speed instead of flying speeds. Changed Group Dungeons code to allow for either single or multiple people to enter the instance. Depending on the instance settings. Changed AOE Targeting code, will require testing for abilities that use AOE. Created Ban Mount Effect, will dismount and prevent players from using their mounts. Client Fixes: Fixed Recipes showing for Crafting Stations if they aren't able to be crafted for that station. Fixed Camera rotation when first entering a level, this will now face the same direction as the character. Server Fixes: Fixed Players getting kicked for having learned too many recipes, learning new recipes should not kick any longer. Fixed incorrect primary stat being given out by skills Mount Sea and Mount Air, changed from ground to swimming / flying. This will result in a 2 speed decrease for the Mount Ground skill. Fixed region areas not working correctly. Pre-Alpha 6.1 PatchAug 29, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsAs we are still in per-alpha it allows us to make major changes as we see fit to improve the game further. With this update we have removed all non-instanced housing and moved towards instanced player housing only. This allows players to place down more object thus giving more freedom on designing their homestead. Each player will have access to different biom kingdoms where they can settle down and build. This opens up new possibilities like adding in player owned dungeons. We have also improved graphics quality on some zones and increase view distance to Oceano Zone. As we continue to move towards Alpha release more systems will get polished and more content will be added. Below is a list of current fixes and new content that was added to this patch: Settings Changes - Graphic Option settings are now loaded and re-applied upon starting the game - Added Inverse Mouse look option under Camera - Added Hardware Cursor option (Experimental: because moving items still uses the old system of rendering) - Added Lock Cursor to window option - Added new graphic options - Display Mode options (Exclusive Fullscreen / Windowed Fullscreen / Windowed) - Refresh Rate option - Frame Rate Cap (Requires Vsync off) New: - Current Armour crafted will now have a chance to drop better quality versions. Those items will bind on Equip. - Added new building system which allows players to build walls , foundations and so forth instead of just a full pre-made building allowing more customized designs. - New Player Kingdom Oceano Biom island added. - Skinning Knifes added, players will now require to have a Skinning Knife Equipped to skin a dead mob. - New Build Objects which is linked to a category, A claim can only have a set amount of each Category on it so plan carefully. - Some build objects will require additional stages to be build, when picking the object up it will refund 50% of the resources which was used to build it past the first stage. - New low level Crab mob added to Oceano Beaches. - Rapid Transport NPC added to Player Kingdom Islands so a player can freely travel back to main world using the anchor or use Rapid Transport NPC to travel to a specific zone. Balance: - Fixed Oils crafted in Alchemy to use lower level Potion Mixture. - Removed all world plots and added points of interest to the places they use to be. With these new points of interest new mobs has been placed as well as new quests added. - Increase Item Count text size which will display the amount of items on a stack better. - Increased most UI elements Text size for better reading. - Upgraded Oceano look and feel with more environment items added, new ambient sounds added for areas like hearing the ocean when close to it or underwater effects when swimming underwater. - Build Objects will not have a weight to allow the player to carry many. - Inventory Items will now display their quality with a edge coloured according to what quality. Bug Fixes: - Modified Tooltips for Inventory / Character ...Pre-Alpha 6.0 Patch NotesMay 3, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsThis has some more fixes, this is also the end of this years Easter event. We added a new test run on tools crafting where you have a small chance of crafting a better quality tool which has more xp and better durability. New: Added in Leather Junk Drops for dismantling All Tier Tools will now have a small chance of crafting a better Quality Tool. New Cave Zone Added to Oceano map which will have more Resource drops from mining nodes. Fixed: Fixed Royal Bed so it will allow you to pick it up. Fixed Deer collider causing issues with mob behaviour. Fixed nail Weights. Fixed Higher tier Potions, they will now activate. Increased stack limit on some Blueprints that drops . Server Fixes: Harvesting a Node on the last stage from a Claim plot will no longer return the original item,this resulted in players receiving double the amount of seeds previously. Fixed a issue where if a player was offline but had a node currently Growing/Upgrading it would fail to upgrade to the next stage. Made a change to Resource Nodes where they should now send a update to the player about their state when they are in range, this should fix the issue with resource nodes appearing spawned when they were despawned server side. Made a change for skinning so that skinning is now interruptable when harvesting a mob corpse. Attached Mail items were not loading in properly after a server restart, these items should now be available again at their respective mail Missing Starter Skills are now added upon login for Older Characters this should fix the issue where Mount Land appeared to start at level 0. Server Changes: Remaining Time for Nodes on Claim plots is now saved allowing it to resume Growing/Upgrading when the server has been restarted. Made changes to mob pathfind behaviour, mobs should now reset combat and return when a proper path is not found to the player. Pre-Alpha 5.9 Patch NotesApr 19, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsThis is mostly again a bug fix update. We have fixed many bugs on our way to get the server stable. Cave system is moved to next update. Fixes: - Fixed resource nodes not despawning correctly when logging in. - Fixed a exploit where picking up a resource from a plot could be duplicated. - Fixed a issue where a player could accidentally trigger a instance teleport twice causing them to be stuck in a empty instance and no way out. - Applied a new Fix for players getting kicked due to the Quest Bug. Will have to monitor if it has the desired effect. - Fixed a issue where crafting stations would briefly trigger the crafting UI when interacted with at a distance. Build Mode Changes: - Objects can no longer be interacted with while in build mode - Attempting to use a build object outside of a plot will trigger a error message - Using a build object item within a plot while build mode is inactive will set build mode active. - Attempting to place a build object down out of range will turn the highlight red now as well as display a error message. - Build Objects should now properly align with the plot base. - Status text for Edit Panels will now correctly display "Completed" instead of "Under Construction 0/0" - Modified the Confirmation text when attempting to pickup or remove a Build / Growth Object. - Placing down a Growth Object and picking it back up without it being complete will now also return the original seed / item. - Pick up button is now changed to a Harvest Button for Completed Growth Objects, which will act similar to how u would pick up a resource node outside of build mode. - Save Button is removed from the Edit Panel as it only closed the panel. General Changes: - Crafting stations will only trigger now while right clicking. - Low Durability will now display a warning in chat at 15 durability left and another at 5 durability. Pre-Alpha 5.8 Patch NotesApr 12, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsThis is a small Easter Event update, as we have been running late with the bigger update we decided to do this release now and the bigger one later this coming week. We did a big change to how housing is handled in this update and now you will see a Box around a object placed on plots which will show you the bounding box. As we changed some plot items if you placed it before it might require you to pick up the item and place it down again. Balance: Reduced the weight of nails. New: Added 9 new Junk items which can be sold or dismantled for Repair currencies. Housing system changed to better show snap points. Easter event is starting, you can collect Easter Egg currencies and use them at the Easter merchant. You will see Easter eggs all around Tauranga. Fix: Fixed all crafting stations that's placed down on plots to work now. Known Issues: If you are placing a item on your claim and right click to cancel it, it wont work after that. As a temporary workaround, you can move the item around in your inventory for it to work again. Pre-Alpha 5.7 Patch NotesMar 23, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsWe have added a few things into this update. More Quests so if your character suddenly has a problem with login into the game where he will login and get kicked right away please let us know right away as we have had a Bug related to Quests doing that before.You will also note we have added our first test range mob, Bandit Archer which might break and not play his attack animation. Most wanted update is our new tool belt with tools auto switching. New: 7 New Recipe Item added. 15 New Crafting Items added. 4 New Armor Items added New Mineral Crafting Station allowing you to craft Infused Stone and other excavating items. 3 New Mob Types added. 5 New equipment slots 1 for each tool type (Axe,Pickaxe,Hammer,Knife,Fishing Rod)\n Characters that still have their tool equipped in their main hand will need to unequip it. Be sure to buy some flowers from the Valentine Merchant and buff your Valentine !! Balance: The mana penalty has been removed from all gear. Fix: Mount speed stat has been fixed to increase now according to your mount skill level. You can buy tier scrolls to learn the next level in mount skill from any stable merchant. New: New Valentine Mustang and Valentine Tiger mount has been added to the in-game store. These are limited season event mounts that will be available till Friday 21 February. New Valentine Merchant selling flowers. These flowers will allow a player to buff another player for 30 Minutes. Pre-ALpha 5.4 UpdateJan 29, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsThis is another update with many fixes and many changes to help with balancing the game. As we have received allot of feedback on gathering resource timer being a bit to long we have changed it to 3 seconds instead of 5 seconds. Will monitor how the flow of the game is with this change. Fix: Skeleton mobs would not play their death animation if they get killed when they cast their abilities , that is now fixed. Swamp Crock will now give skinning XP. Fungus Sheep will now give skinning XP as well as has a greater chance to drop the Sheep Mount than a normal Sheep. Fixed issue where moving a item from bank to inventory was throwing "Taken Item isn't in the bank" error Fixed issue where deleting a item directly from the bank would bug out Fixed issue where looting items one by one and emptying a mob corpse would not set it skinnable. Balance: All crafted bags now will not have durability on them, you will have a level requirement to equip them. If you currently have a bag equipped you will need to un-equip the bag and re-equip it to get the new changes. Dismantle and repair amounts have been changed and balanced more to make it more viable now to repair items on the fly. Removed Skinning of Green Warden. All mobs will now do a minimum of 30% damage of their set damage against resistances to prevent mobs from doing only 1 damage. All furniture items you craft will now Stack in your inventory. Harvesting times for resources has been reduced to 3 seconds instead of 5 seconds. Chipstone's loot has been increase, Brown Chicken will now drop more feathers. New: New rare dropping Gems and Sap resources has been added to mining, Excavating and lumberjack resource nodes. These recourse drops has a very low chance of dropping when harvesting those nodes. Gems are used in crafting Jewellery and crafting magical equipment due to their magical powers. Mounts Land Skill level can now be increased by buying a Skill scroll from a Stable Master and learning it. Each scroll will state what skill level it will teach you. As your skill increases your base mount stats will increase like mount speed for now. Stacked Items can now be Dismantled, make sure you keep a eye out on the stack size before dismantling. New single player dungeon introduced so we can start testing our dungeon system. 3 New Quests added which you can receive once you are level 12 or higher in Tauranga. These are quests for the new mini single player dungeon we introducing in this patch. Pre-Alpha 5.3Jan 19, 2020 - Community Announcements19/01/2020 Pre-Alpha 5.3 We concentrated on fixings a few major bugs in this patch which we hope has the quest bug fixed where a players character would get broken and be disconnected on login. If your character was broken like that please let us know if its still broken. As we have had some problems with recovering your body after you died, we have removed inventory drop on death. This is just a temporary setting as we role out our new death system. Fix: Deactivated auto attack when you cast the sleep ability as it use to then stop the effect right after its cast. Changed Primary stat gain for magery to potential as that's whats used to increase mage spell damage and removed willpower increase. increase Player starter stat for potential to 10 instead of 5. Removed dismantling of Used Spell book as you can also purchase it from merchant and some players was converting their gold by buying the book and dismantling it for crafting currency. Combined World map and Minimap, so pressing M now will increase the Minimap size and allow you to pan the world while still seeing your position. We also revamped the Oceano map to show all crafting station/merchant locations on the map. Other zones will be following later. Fixed some abilities like Mind Eye, Fire Ring, Ice Shield, Frost Shield, War Cry which was not requiring a weapon to activate to now require a weapon to activate. If your character was broken and you where immediately disconnected or could not interact with NPC's , we might have fixed it as it was linked to Quests. Please let us know if your character is still broken. Weapon Experience is no longer granted by using skills, players cannot spam buffs any longer to easy level their skills. Added a fix for players getting kicked upon login related to questing, let us know if this still happens for you. New: Added 4 craft chests which players can craft for extra storage on their plot of land. Added 5 new storage chests to the shop to purchase. Added spellbooks up to level 60 Blueprints. Damage Type indicators is added corresponding to what type of damage is dealt and what type of resistance will relieve that damage done. Balance: All current armors stats has been increase and revamped to balance better in combat and make wearing them worth it. Sword Attack speed has been increased so swords attack now faster than before. Buffs of the same ranks will no longer stack, trying to apply a lower rank buff while a higher rank buff is active will result in a error. Weapon Damage is no longer used in the damage formula for most abilities and is only applied for auto-attacks. Changes: Auction house is no longer available until a suitable replacement is found Player inventory is not longer dropped on death until we make changes to the death system. Looting and generating of items has been changed on the server and should result in reduced lag looting for mobs, if this issue still persists please let us know. Updated Unity client build from .NET 3.x to NET 4....Pre-Alpha 5.2 PatchDec 21, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsPatch 5.2 First we would like to say Merry Christmas to our community and your family from everyone at Neojac Entertainment.Your support has brought us to where we are now. We have made some great progress this past year and looking forward to full release of Arcfall next year. This is a small patch as we have been busy fixing and working on some bugs that poped up on our last patch. We start off our Christmas event where some Christmas items are added. Make sure to find Santa when he pops into the game as he will have some presents for all. We are still working on a bug where players are constantly disconnected, we have traced it to a problem which happens now and then with quests, so if that's whats happening to your character please let us know on our discord channel. Fixed: Item weight isn't removed properly when dismantling items. Claim cost isn't reset properly when a claim is abandoned while it is on sale. Resource nodes will still be in use when a player disconnects causing that node to be unable to be harvested. Changed way how the angle your facing at is calculated for abilities. Next update will be on the 20 December. We implemented many systems on the back-end like the new mount system which will improve game play. New: - Items New Potions - New Mount setup where mount stats are linked to Mount skill and can increase by means of upgrading the skill. Mounts will no longer be in a players inventory but will be part of the Transmog Interface. Players will be able to use any mount and still keep their skill stats boost. Skill Boost progress will start on next update, for now all mounts has 15% speed increase. - Added 12 new mounts for players to obtain from quests/loot drops/merchant or in-game store. - New Player instanced islands System added which will make sure each player will have access to a plot of land to build on or farm on. The instanced islands will have no taxes on them and can be accessed through any of the rapids transport NPC`s. - Friends can visit instanced player islands if they are friends with a player. Fix: - increased the distance at which you can see a mobs health bar and also quests. Balance: - Combat is reworked for Swordsmanship and Magery, with new abilities allowing each weapon skill to be a vital part of a group in combat.Pre-Alpha 4.0Oct 28, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsAlthough the list is small this time aroudn allot of the work went into fixes on server side as well as creating a whole new zone. In the coming weeks we will be adding in more items and mobs for the new zone as well as new quests. The Halloween event starts today and will finish on The 22 November 2019. You can collect Candy from Halloween trees when you harvest the hanging pumpkins. On Thursday we will be adding the Halloween merchant with some goodies to purchase for the Halloween event. Starting items will be aroudn 50 candy. We also added some Halloween items into our store which supports the development of the game. Fix: - Group exp was given to players more then 10 levels above mobs thus players have been levelling on low level mobs past the set level range. - Fixed lag issues related to ammo and abilities like Bleeding Strike - Fixed a issue where if u were AFK before and went afk again the counter would resume where it left off instead of resetting. - Fixed a issue where skills or stats were send while the player was still loading causing it to not display or load correctly. - Auction house is partially fixed, UI is still not working as intended gold and copper prices are in reverse but can sell / buy now again. New: - New Crazed Pumpkin Pet added to store, limited for Halloween season. - New Halloween decorations added to store to decorate your home, Limited for the Halloween season. - Kal-Da Moor zone added with resource levels to 50 now. - Character levels are now capped at level 80. - New recipes and items added for crafting up till lvl 50. - Three new mobs added: Fungus Sheep, Swamp Crock and Greenskin Warden.Pre-Alpha 3.20 Patch NotesSep 27, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsPatch: Pre-Alpha 3.2 This has been a major update for us, originally we wanted to release all the new content we have been working on but decided again it and rather release a small polished version of Oceano because we have been redoing most of the server side to improve it as well as added in Quests system for testing. We will be releasing the new content in two weeks after we have run all the testing on these systems in case something major breaks. Below you will see a list of things this update has.
