Patch 1.9: Nightfall UpdateApr 4, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsRunners, it's finally time: Today we’re rolling out the long awaited 1.9 update for After The Fall. We’ve managed to fix the most frequently reported issues, added in brand new content and reworked some of our biggest systems for this one! Check out the full patch notes below - free for all players and live on all platforms NOW! Nightfall Update (All Platforms) 3 Horde Maps Be ready to survive against the unrelenting waves of Snowbreed in three exciting Horde maps! Converted from our PVP content, these maps will put your co-operative skills to the ultimate test whilst also providing you with a lot more space to maneuver and strategize. Highrise: Run around in circles at the top of this skyscraper whilst shooting Snowbreed. Warehouse: Survive in this abandoned warehouse full of weapon caches & crates. Market: Defend yourself against hordes of Snowies in the lit-up streets of Chinatown. Hunting Rifle Pierce through hordes of Snowbreed with this lever-action Rifle! The Hunting Rifle has armor-piercing rounds that go straight through Ice Armor - allowing a single well-placed shot to kill multiple Snowbreed, even on higher difficulties! Uses Green Ammo, which was previously only used for Heavy Pistols! Upgraded barrels increase your Bullet Penetration by +1, starting from 0. Comes with a total of 18 attachments & 37 new skins to unlock! Can be unlocked by decrypting Prototype Floppies (Red). Harvest Rank Runners can now level up by gathering Harvest. The more Harvest you bring in to support the Hub, the higher your rank! Rank up to show off your skill and loyalty to the Hub. All Runners start at Rank 0 and can level up all the way to Rank 100. Every 10 Ranks you unlock a new Border & Title to showcase to your fellow Runners. The Harvest you’ve gathered can still be spent freely without ever going down in Rank. Note, you do not rank up from decrypting duplicate floppies or recycling attachments! UI Pass Added many different UI screens that should make the Social & Matchmaking experience much more seamless. We’ve furthermore improved a few existing screens, making them easier to navigate. Added a Lobby Browser to the Hub, allowing you to quickly look through all available matches. After crafting your Service Pistol you can now join and select any Harvest Run or other mode, but you still need to follow the Campaign path to unlock items that are linked to your Campaign progress. Added invite previews, allowing you to see which mode, difficulty and level you’ve been invited to before you accept. Added a recent players screen, allowing you to open the profiles of those you were recently in a match with. Added a Score Screen that shows during Horde, allowing you to check your kills & Wave reached without having to open the menu. Added haptic feedback to all UI interactions, making it easier to go through the menus. Reworked the End Screen UI, making it more fun to gather & decrypt Floppies. Come to our Discord channel for access and more details: discord.gg/afterthefall BETA DETAILS This build contains all current content (no new maps or weapons) and will only connect you to other beta players, but any progress you make, we'll make sure will carry over into the February 22nd update. In this build, we're looking for your feedback on the following matters: -Horde Mode We've addressed the issue where an enemy does not make it to the battleground and is not able to be killed, thus halting your progress with no way to end the Horde Mode run, usually between wave 30-40 previously. Please confirm if this now works as we intend. Further suggestions will be considered after our February 22nd update. -Chipset calibration The chipsets for various weapons have been readjusted to the intended values, please let us know if the intended workings for it feel balanced. Further balancing will be considered after our February 22nd update. -Quick Play Quick Play is now an option from the Harvest-o-mat. This should allow players who are looking for a party to get up and running. For those players that set up a party, people should automatically be joined up. KNOWN ISSUES IN THIS BUILD: - It is not possible to select Nightmare or Horror modes (this is a UI bug) - When going in the Private Match menu, it is possible to open the quick play menu (UI bug) - Sometimes playing Quick Play causes players to not be able to progress past the first door when opened - Quick play sometimes causes a matchmaking error message - A new player can get into a horror match when doing Quick play for the first time Some known issues we are looking at but are not yet sure how reproduceable: - An invisible wall at the beginning of Quarantine Centre - If players form a party and then use Quick Play, we've seen a matchmaking error code 0 - We've had one instance of a new player always starting via Quick Play on Horror Mode - we have a log for this but we've only had it reported once We'd like to thank you for your patience in the meantime; we ran into various issues internally that caused delays in pushing out these highly requested fixes and it was important for us to make sure we hit certain milestones first that would allow us to run this beta build for you. Unlocks after completing ‘Relay Tower’ (same condition as the ‘Boulevard’ Harvest Map). If you don’t have it unlocked yet, you can still join the party of a Runner that does in order to play through it! Horde Mode - Twin Palm Mall Watch the ceilings, hold the stairs and cover the storefronts to survive as long as you can in this abandoned shopping center; Twin Palms ‘Mall’ is now available as a brand-new Horde Site! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/35214627/2ddb4066be3b47e86ec3f8804ca973f1e1b4b3dc.png Largest Horde Site so far with multiple height levels, giving you plenty of space to roam around! Waves can spawn from multiple locations at once so be sure to cover your back! Significantly more difficult at the start, allowing you to get into the action from the get-go. Mutators Added in an entirely new game mode: ‘Mutated Runs’. These spice up the existing Harvest Runs by modifying 3 rules at a time, whilst making your run significantly more difficult, it in turn rewards you with the best loot there is! Only one Mutated Run is active at any given time, for the span of 8 hours. All players queue up for the same Harvest Run, with the same Mutations. Mutated Runs can be played on any difficulty level, with increasingly better rewards! ‘Chipsets’ are awarded from all the Floppy Disks you decrypt in Mutated Runs! Chipsets There are a whopping 100+ new attachments to unlock, coming in the form of Chipsets! Patch 1.6.38399 is here and a persistence rework, quality of life changes, a new difficulty, and one balancing pass is what awaits you today before we dive deeper back to what the studio is working on for future content. This is a smaller, but important update, but there are still some challenging things for the most hardcore Runners to pursue! Without further ado, let’s have a look at the patch notes for version 1.6 of After the Fall. Persistence Rework We completely overhauled the Persistence systems to fix several issues where players were losing either weapon attachments, weapons or Harvest. Please let us know if you still experience any irregularities! Fixed the issue(s) where weapons would be stripped of its skin and/or attachments. Fixed all exploits where weapons could be duplicated by joining / leaving repeatedly. Fixed all exploits where Harvest could be awarded incorrectly during crafting. Fixed an issue where Combat Devices would be wiped from the players hands. Fixed a bug where you could receive a wiped loadout after returning from PvP. Fixed Harvest duplication bug when recycling Combat Device with Power Tool. Horror Difficulty We added a new difficulty level meant for the best of the best. Complete all Harvest Runs on Nightmare difficulty in order to unlock ‘Horror’! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/35214627/cfcda4710230fc63e3e6563a692f966eebadbea5.png Gain double the Harvest amount compared to Nightmare. Pay double the Harvest for Items compared to Nightmare. 4 Prototype Floppies are guaranteed to spawn in each Run. Common Snowbreed no longer stagger. Massive increase in Snowbreed Spawn Rates. Up to 20 Specials can spawn per Run. Snowbreed have triple the health & ice armor. Most Snowbreed can kill you in 2 hits. Players no longer regenerate health. Double the Max Ammo to go on a frenzy! Balancing Increased Tommy Gun damage from 55 to 60 to make it more viable at higher difficulties. Lowered Missile Device Rocket Amount from 10 to 8 to make it in line w/ Shockwave. Increased Shockwave Device Explosion damage from 525 to 600 to slightly buff it. Increased Shockwave Device Range in Meters from 10 to 11.5 to further buff it. Fixed the LMG vertical foregrip calculation to now properly apply all its stats. Double the view distance when you are under the effect of a Rage Booster. Increased the duration of ‘Rage’ from 10 to 20 seconds to make it more versatile. Increased cost of Device Ammo from 250 to 1000 to reflect its strength. Increased Healing Fraction for Rage Booster from 20% to 50% Max HP. Increased Rage Booster cost from 500 to 750 to reflect its new strength. Made the Companion AI stronger across lower difficulties, making it easier for new solo players. Items & Progression Fixed an issue where you could accidentally drop the revolver with Advanced Reload. Fixed clipping issue in the LMG which caused flickering issues when applying a skin. Improved the Tommy Gun advanced reloading to make it easier to insert magazines. ...
