As displayed by the Roadmap, this update comes with a host of new features and content, let's talk about that! Moving on to the exciting stuff, High Altitude Bombing: This bombing mission adds a 6th random mission type to the Air Superiority Campaign! Featuring a flight of Marauder bombers, escorted by Thunderbolts attacking an Ork convoy with high altitude bombing runs! Skirmish Mode: The Skirmish mode allows players to make their own squadrons to a set point limit (providing for short, medium, and long gameplay encounters). Players can now name their aircraft, rename their pilots, equip upgrades, weapons loadouts, and increase the skill of their pilots! Players are now able to pre-build and save their squadrons before searching for an opponent! pssst.... Check out the livery options :) For those wondering about terrain selection, the areas of engagement are randomly picked by the game engine! The rules for victory are that of standard play, Victory points will determine the victor! Leaderboards: The Outcomes of battle- wins and losses are the key metric that is tracked for our leaderboards. While in the game, the top 10 are shown for each leaderboard, a full list of the leaderboards will be available on Steam. More exciting information will be coming soon! Keeping up with Warhammer 40K releases feels like it could be a full-time job, and I was surprised to learn that we've already had an aerial combat game in Games Workshop universe this year courtesy of Warhammer 40K: Dakka Squadron. Both releases come hot on the heels of the release of a new edition of Games Workshop's Aeronautica Imperialis tabletop game, and Flight Command offers a more strategic take with a simultaneous turn system. You can see a bit more of how it works in the launch trailer. It's out now on Steam, and is part of the Skulls for the Skull Throne sale that's running on Steam until June 1st. Reviews are mixed at the moment, so proceed with caution - though I admit I remain intrigued by the concept.
