Fire Escape is a narrative game inspired by Hitchcock’s anxiety driven storytelling. Set in Crown Heights, Brooklyn - when the night strikes eight o’clock, a suspenseful muder-mystery begins to unfold in real time. It’s best described as what happens when “Immersive theatre meets game design.” Players have free roam to choose which apartment to spy on, but for every story beat you see, you miss many more. In Fire Escape, the details truly matter. With over five hours of motion capture performances, Fire Escape’s story is told in three replayable episodes of twenty minutes each. Launching with support for both Steam VR (Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift) and Non-VR (Windows, no headset required), Fire Escape is also compatible with Steam Achievements. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1224480/Fire_Escape/ With the tragic impact of Covid-19 on New York City, our home, we are also pledging to give 25% of all proceeds from Fire Escape to Covid Relief Funds that will help support, feed, and shelter the very people Fire Escape’s story features, and are at risk of being left behind during these extraordinary times. Changelist: The Unity project has been upgraded from Unity 5.2.2 to Unity 5.3.4! This should resolve issues on older graphics cards crashing at scene 1 due to post-processing effects. Fixed issues relating to stories and photos being unlockable at the wrong sections of the game. Fixed an issue where the player could take a photo in the Black Friday scene before they were intended to, which would make progression behave strangely. Fixed an issue where gameplay would continue behind UI if the user entered the stories book from the photo review screen in certain situations. Fixed multiple issues regarding users being unable to unlock progress achievements or track stat progress. Fixed multiple issues regarding blank or mis-firing subtitles. Fixed an issue relating to two Steam accounts on the same computer preventing achievement unlocking. All rapid tap prompts and the pressure mini-game for a specific character's trauma mini-game can now be performed using the Spacebar key. Rapid Tap QTE can now be performed with the spacebar key. Adjusted certain UI elements to prevent buttons or menu items to disappear at 2k+ resolutions due to UI scaling. Added UI to inspection camera buttons to better indicate when a object was interactive or not. Fixed a variety of minor gameplay bugs.
