We’re experimenting with a fun new feature today: You can now watch Vreal videos in a web browser by visiting https://vreal.net/watch! Here’s how it works: After you watch and/or publish a recording in the Vreal app, you’ll notice some share buttons for Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit. Clicking those buttons will generate a post with a custom URL so that people can watch it in their browser on their PCs. And just like in the app, viewers can use their mouse and WASD keys to move around inside the video. This feature is a work-in-progress; here are the current known issues: Some older recordings do not support web streaming. You’ll be able to tell if a recording is supported by whether or not the share icons are visible on the content page. We currently support web streaming for the following titles: GORN, Tilt Brush, Blocks, Fantastic Contraption, Eleven: Table Tennis, Catch and Release, PlanTechtor, Jet Island, Virtual Virtual Reality, Cat Sorter VR, Cloudlands, and Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. Social features (friends and parties) are not currently available in the Web version. While most browsers are supported, we highly recommend using Chrome for the best experience. Mobile browsers are not supported. We recommend at least a 20 megabit Internet connection for the best performance. Extreme Makeover: Vreal EditionMay 31, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsToday’s update includes a huge visual overhaul of the Vreal app, as well as major improvements. https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/32932156/b20e46718d46b8ee4b19d39640444eaf079bfe90.png Here’s the latest: The app is now resizable and works with a wider range of monitor resolutions and zoom levels. Finally you can soak up all of those 4k pixels with Vreal! Performance improvements: Vreal now takes up significantly less of the CPU. You can now toggle between watching in VR or desktop mode in the settings panel. Click on the gear icon at the top right to set a default for your preferred method of watching content. Publishing progress is now displayed on the content page so creators can see how long it will take (HOORAY!) There is now a countdown to record timer to inform when the recording will start. Known issue: social features such as friends and parties are taking a vacation while we give them a new coat of paint. Check back for future updates where their super-powered offspring will return. It may seem like we’re just pun robots, but we promise this isn’t a SIMULATOR. Okay okay, enough of that. Big news today! Vreal has added our first ever non-VR game: Totally Accurate Battle Simulator (TABS) from developers Landfall. TABS is currently in Early Access on Steam. This game is incredibly fun to play, from the campaigns to the units to the maps, it’s full of character that is unforgettable. Before you alt-tab away, there’s a couple things you should know. TABS content is only available to watch in desktop mode, as it’s not a VR game. Updates: Support for our first non-VR title, Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, is now live! You can now switch between VR and Desktop mode without ever closing the Vreal app. We now highlight popular content, based on when it was posted, views and hearts the content has received. We have two big updates for you today! First, we’ve added support for Valve’s Moondust demo, which is set in the Portal universe consisting of four minigames. Moondust introduces new VR game mechanics that take advantage of the new Index (aka Knuckles) controller inputs, like crushing moon rocks with your hands, or driving a moon buggy with the joystick. We've also added a new feature: the ability to leave comments on content. Now you can let your favorite Vreal creators know how much you like their content and what you want to see more of in the future. Selecting recordings will open up a new content page, where you'll see the number of likes and dislikes. Spectators in Jet Island recordings now have the option to be tethered to the player. To untether, spectators can either move (when watching in desktop mode) or teleport onto a surface (when watching in VR mode). Using "Teleport to Player" in either mode will re-tether the spectator to the player. Attempting to record in Desktop mode will launch Steam VR so that you can actually record content in VR. We’re pleased to announce that we’ve added support for TWO more games. HOORAY! The first is the blissful and oh-so-relaxing fishing game Catch & Release. We’ve added a new VR game for you! Since Mosh Pit Simulator launched in late January, we got a lot of requests to add this beautifully bizarre and weirdly wonderful VR game to Vreal. We can’t wait to see what you do with this one! You'll need to own Mosh Pit Simulator on Steam, then mod it in Vreal in order to make content. Comment below if you've made a recording and we'll check it out! :D Additional updates & bug fixes: The bangles signifying party member status (leader or otherwise) are now rendering at the expected size. In desktop mode, the recording button was briefly interactable after initially launching the app. We’ve fixed this since recording content is only available in VR mode. Updates to volume controls + Gunheart fixesFeb 20, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsHowdy folks! Today's Vreal update includes bug fixes for Gunheart and for our recently released volume sliders. If you have any questions, or if you want to suggest a new feature, join our Discord and/or head over to http://support.vreal.net. Gunheart bug fixes Hitting Esc now pulls up the controls menu instead of exiting the recording. Recordings can now be paused in parties. Hooray! Party members can now see your laser pointers. UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ The party leader now has a yellow bracelet indicating they are, in fact, the party leader. The in-VR menu and selfie cameras no longer collide with in-game objects. Volume slider bug fixes Pressing the "Muted" speaker icon from the volume tab now returns the volume level to the previous value. Setting the volume slider to a particular value and reopening the volume tab no longer causes it to be displayed with a fraction. All volume sliders are now active by default. We’ve made a few improvements to the Vreal app today; see below for the latest updates. Updates: Volume controls got a total makeover and is now easily accessible in VR from the app itself. After picking a recording to watch, you can change the volume level of the player’s voice and the game’s audio independently. If you’re watching a recording in a party, you can adjust the volume of your party members. Stream thumbnails now feature the name of the game featured as well as the relative time of creation just below the thumbnail. Bug Fixes: Thumbnail changes are now applied when first publishing a recording.
