Project Rebalance: Combat Changes You know all about Project Rebalance by now, so we shan’t repeat ourselves. If you’d like to catch up, you can check out the top-level NPC Defence Changes and Other Combat/Item Adjustment blogs, the dedicated Q&A, or this video which summarises the Defence changes. Just like our last Project Rebalance update, today’s newspost covers a lot of ground and highlights some pretty big alterations to the status quo. With that in mind, we want to reiterate that we love Old School’s combat system exactly as it is. The aim of these changes is not to fundamentally change Combat, but to further improve the parts of the system which make it so satisfying to play. These changes open up new space for rewards that don’t contribute to bloat and powercreep, while leaning into the ‘right tool for the job’ element that makes getting gear upgrades feel like progress. Over the coming weeks, we’ll no doubt find small tweaks we can make to ensure Combat is running smoothly. While we’ve run betas and worked with the community to make sure we’re on the right track, no amount of testing can compare to thousands of you getting stuck in and letting us know how these changes actually feel. If something doesn’t seem right, you can let us know, and we’ll do our best to sort it out – even if that means rolling changes back. If this sounds a bit scary, don’t panic! Most of these changes won’t impact current gameplay at all, and simply pave the way for future activities, bosses and rewards. All your existing gear setups will still work just fine, although you may want to make one or two adjustments to squeeze a little extra power out of your equipment. If that sounds exciting, keep reading to learn more! NPC Defence Changes This video guide will tell you all you need to know about the two primary components of this segment: Elemental Weaknesses and split Ranged Defence types. Have a watch – we’ll wait. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdwTV89Ykfo If this video doesn’t load on your browser, click here to watch! Time to put your popcorn down and learn more about Elemental Weaknesses! Elemental Weaknesses Elemental Weaknesses have always been present in a complex, roundabout way. Perhaps the most well-known example is the Ice Demon's weakness to Fire spells. These changes standardise the existing system, roll it out to more NPCs, and make it more readily accessible in-game via Monster Examine. In short, for every point of Elemental Weakness an NPC has, spells of that element will gain +1% Accuracy and +1% Damage. For example, if you cast Fire Surge on an NPC who’s got a 50% Fire Weakness, you’ll gain 50% bonus Accuracy and Damage. When you factor in your base Magic Damage, the formula looks like this: Base Damage x (Magic Damage % + Elemental Weakness %) This additive appro...Further Project Rebalance: Skilling Tweaks & Minigame Improvements | May 23rdMay 23, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsThis week’s update brings minigame improvements and some tweaks to recent Skilling changes from Project Rebalance. Changelog Project Rebalance: Skilling Tweaks Expert Mining Gloves now work with Sandstone and allow players to mine one extra unit before the rock depletes. HOTFIX: Increased the minimum contribution required for loot eligibility at Zalcano to 75, up from 50. Minigame Improvements Adjusted XP drops from various activities in Trouble Brewing. Converted Pieces of Eight from tangible items to account variables, in-line with other minigame currencies. Added a ‘Classic Free-to-Play- option to the ‘Magic’ dropdown in Clan Wars set-up. This setting makes Bind the only ‘freeze’ spell available. Fully-grown plants in Tithe Farm no longer decay. Tears of Guthix now shows your Personal Best while collecting tears. Visually updated the entry barrier in Guardians of the Rift. Other Changes Players may now set their own +x% and -x% buttons in the Grand Exchange. Right-click the button to alter the value. Changed how Verzik scales in Theatre of Blood. The left-click option on Elven Teleport Crystals can now be toggled between Lletya and Prifddinas. Adjusted animations on wyrms to make them more accessible for players at risk of seizures. Fixed a bug which allowed players to skip Vet’ion’s second phase. Project Rebalance: Skilling Tweaks {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39707052/07a9c6a0ad4331b95797ee2042112dacf2b7c1d9.jpg It’s been a couple of weeks since the first part of Project Rebalance went live, and we’re happy with where most of the changes are at. Even so, we have a few more tweaks for you this week. First, an update on Expert Mining Gloves, which have been re-enabled for Sandstone with some minor balancing changes. Initially, players were able to mine a whopping three extra Sandstone before the rock depleted, which was a little stronger than we intended. As of today’s change, they’ll be able to mine one extra. Sticking with the Mining theme, we also hotfixed a couple of Zalcano changes. To deter leeching, all players must now deal at least 5 armour damage to Zalcano, regardless of how much health damage they deal over the course of the fight. Additionally, the minimum contribution required...Project Rebalance: Skilling & Varlamore Tweaks | May 15thMay 15, 2024 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39707052/9581ffab2aa5a0013b680adffce5de76f2d9f0a9.png This week’s update brings further changes from Project Rebalance! Changelog Project Rebalance Slayer Players no longer need to cancel their current Task to do one they have stored. Players can now swap existing Tasks with ones in Storage. This action can be performed for free but must be unlocked for 1,000 Slayer Points. Thieving Improved Clue Scroll drop rates from gnomes, paladins and heroes. Reduced failure rates when pickpocketing these NPCs. Agility Improvements to Brimhaven Agility Arena. Removed fail points from some Agility obstacles. Improved accessibility for a shortcut in Taverley. Fixed a bug where the Shilo Village shortcut wasn’t asking for the correct quest requirements. Mining Mining Gloves no longer work with Sandstone and Granite. We’re discussing balancing in this area and will let you know if anything changes. Added a sound effect when Amethyst depletes. Added a warning when your Sack is full in Motherlode Mine. Varlamore Rebalanced Adept and Expert Hunter Rumours. The bonus effect descriptions of the Kyatt and Guild Hunter outfits are now listed in the Set Bonus tab while wearing at least one piece of either outfit. Prevented certain tiles in the Fortis Colosseum from blocking players who tried to walk on them. Updated the Easy Hunter Guild Clue to direct players to the food barrel on top of the Guild, as it has no level requirement to access. Fixed various graphical and sound-related bugs. Fixed a bug where the "Nothing interesting happens" text pops up when trying to fill Fur and Meat Pouches manually. Other Players who have completed the Hard Wilderness Achievement Diary can now sell unwanted Ecumenical Keys to the Lesser Fanatic, in Edgeville, for 61,500 GP each. References to padded spoons have been removed from the Crafting Skill Guide and level-up messages. When Eyatlalli's voice speaks to you after leaving the moon fight, it now does so without creating disruptive Chat Boxes. The Fancy Dress Shop in Varrock now prioritises Tatty Furs when making Hunter Outfits. Revenant imps, goblins and hobgoblins can now drop their respective Champion Scrolls. The revenant demon is Greater rather than Lesser, due to having wings, so it does not drop the Lesser Demon Challenge Scroll. The brightness sliders in the Settings menu and Side Settings menu are now in sync. Adjusted the drag handles for the Activity Advisor and new-style Skill Guide so they don’t overlap with the Close button. Fixed a bug where the giant sea snake’s model was not displayed during Royal Trouble. Hotfixes Reverted an accidental nerf to loot gained by certain group sizes at Zalcano. Fixed a bug where Collection Log items were incorrectly counted or discounted. Project Rebalance: Skilling We’re back with further Project Rebalance changes this week, starting with our favourite skill – Slayer! If you'd like to learn more about what we worked on during our Game Jam, you can check out this Wiki page or take a look at #OSRSGameJam on X. Project Rebalance: Skilling Changes As you may have gathered from the massive list of patch notes above, this week’s update marks the first set of Project Rebalance updates. We shan’t repeat the massive list of patch notes or our previous blogs on the topic, which can be found here and here. We would, however, like to make it clear that we’ll be closely monitoring your feedback for this update, and will be making further adjustments as necessary. As always, please do reach out if you think there’s anything we’ve missed, or if something doesn’t feel right. Your feedback is invaluable! This week marks the start of our fifth bi-annual Game Jam – and so today’s update is rather on the small side. Tune in next week to see what we’ve been up to! Varlamore Feedback Tweaks Last week’s fresh batch of Combat Achievements saw you taking on Perilous Moons and the Fortis Colosseum in droves! Notably absent from the festivities were ‘Zerker’ builds, who are limited to 45 Defence and are therefore extra challenged when completing Combat Achievements. Obtaining the prestigious ‘Zuk Helm’ on these accounts is no small feat! Unfortunately, two of last week’s Achievements are inaccessible for these players, so we’ve made some tweaks: 'Betrayal' now only requires you to use a Perilous Moons weapon for the fight instead of a full set. This still heavily incentivises the use of a full set but lets everybody have a go if they don't mind making things harder on themselves. 'I Brought Mine Too' has been updated to include all spears and hastae, as well as halberds. Spears/hastae grant Defence XP on every combat style, so we've included halberds in the mix to keep on theme and provide a more Strength-focused alternative. Note that the fight feels even trickier with a halberd, and you might have to unlearn a little bit of muscle memory to tick this one off! Beyond the bloodshed and brutality of Combat Achievements, we've got more changes in and around the Shining Kingdom this week: Adjusted the weight of various Moons of Peril rewards: Eclipse Moon Helm - 0.907kg Eclipse Moon Chestplate - 3kg Eclipse Moon Tassets - 1kg Blue Moon Helm - 0.453kg Blue Moon Chestplate - 3.175kg Blue Moon Tassets - 1.360kg Blood Moon Helm - 0.907kg Blood Moon Chestplate - 5.443kg Blood Moon Tassets - 4.083kg Unbuilt Quetzal landing sites now stand out better among Varlamore’s beautiful scenery. Updated the names of various speed-related Colosseum Combat Achievements in line with the others. Players who run out of Membership are now able to freely reclaim Quetzin and Smol Heredit upon regaining Membership status. The 'Mantimayhem' modifier will no longer be offered as an option going into Wave 12, since it doesn't do anything during the Sol Heredit fight. We could add a Manticore into the mix here, but we're not sure it would be a welcome addition... Sol Heredit will no longer damage players with his 'grab' attack after he runs out of hitpoints. Apologies to anybody who's missed out on juicy rewards as a result of this nasty bug. Kebbity Tufts from Hunter rumours can now only be handed in if they were obtained from the same kebbit that you've been assigned. Razor-backed kebbit footprints have been made darker so that they don't blend in with the environment quite as much. While not strictly Varlamore-related, Hunter rumours have led to these prickly fellas seeing a little engagement than they're used to! Bees inside the Colosse...Undead Pirates Tweaks, Varlamore CAs & More | April 17thApr 17, 2024 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39707052/23cdee1fc4ac670d5ed72c9e3ffa4a9785dbb0e9.png We're stepping up the challenge this week with Varlamore Combat Achievements! Changelog April 17th Wilderness and Undead Pirates Hotfixes from last week: The Elder Chaos Druids’ teleblock is now correctly removed upon leaving the Wilderness. We've also stopped those pesky Druids from closing your bank if you'd recently been in combat. Drop rate of the Teleport Anchoring Scroll from the Zombie Pirate's Locker has been made 1 in 275. The Teleport Anchoring Scroll is no longer doubled when obtained from the Locker. Zombie Pirate Keys now drop at a rate of 1 in 24. On average, assuming you use up all of the keys you obtain, this makes the Teleport Anchoring Scroll around 4 times more common. Reduced the wander range of Elder Chaos Druids. Artio, Callisto, Calvar'ion, Spindel, Vet'ion and Venenatis won't attack for a short period after respawn, giving you the chance to manage your supplies and Inventory if needed. Increased the despawn timer of consumables dropped in the Wilderness to 15 seconds. Fixed an issue stopping you picking up loot on a particular tile at the Chaos Temple. Wilderness Agility Course Hotfixes: The rope swing can now be used by more than one player at a time. The dispenser now provides Blighted Super Restores. Moved the location of Clue Steps inside the Wilderness Agility Course to a slightly quieter spot. Players can now take a pause between Wilderness Agility Course laps by logging out, although they will lose 25 laps for doing so. Leaving the arena or dying will still end the streak. The skeletons on the surface of the Wilderness Agility Course now deal less damage. Watch out though, underground Skeletons still hit for a max of 4. Damage now correctly applies through the ladder animation in the Wilderness Agility Course. The Wilderness Agility Course lap streak and loot now display while Game Chat is set to 'Filtered'. When paying the 150,000 GP fee to use the Agility Course, you'll now receive a looting bag if you don't currently own one. The Ring of Wealth(i) now interacts properly with Medium Clue Scrolls at the Wilderness Agility Course. The spikes underneath the Wilderness Agility arena no longer stop projectiles from travelling over them. Varlamore Added Combat Achievements for the Colosseum and Perilous Moons. Removed a tree blocking the path in Fortis Park. Soar Leader Pitri now gives instructions about charging the Quetzal Whistle. The Fortis Crop circle will now spawn correctly, letting you teleport to Puro Puro. Colosseum Colosseum acid pools no longer deal damage between waves. When using Dizana's Quiver alongside a Twisted Bow, the correct Ranged Strength stats will be used when firing Dragon Arrows. Updated the Manticore’s examine text. The Serpent Shaman's Water Surge now looks even more impressive! Updated the Quiver's appearance for both the standard variants and the Max Cape version. Perilous Moons During the Eclipse Moon Orb special att...Undead Pirates & More! | April 10thApr 10, 2024 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39707052/8354314b9af39f2e6f1a19f2bc38c1ec70a5376c.png This week we've got a little something for everybody, from the Colosseum to a brand-new Wilderness hotspot! Undead Pirates {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39707052/a27099050e8424f6a0b849a0e0107cd1a12d700d.jpg Today marks the beginning of an epic battle between Undead Pirates and Elder Chaos Druids, conveniently localised entirely within the Chaos Temple between Levels 9 and 14 Wilderness. The pesky pirates have run aground on the Wilderness’ eastern shore and they’re itching to get their bony hands on some Wilderness booty. The Elder Chaos Druids are fending them off, but the battle is quickly reaching a stalemate. Seems like a great time for some bold adventurers to nip in and start looting! We’ve spoken about this update already at the Winter Summit and the poll blog, so we’ll keep it brief. The goal here is to breathe a little life into low-level Wilderness, in the hope that ‘specialised’ PvP builds like Pures and Zerks will carve out a space of their own, and lower-level players will be able to enjoy PvP without being at the mercy of PKers far more experienced than they are. In the past, the problem has been that content below Level 30 Wilderness is difficult to make risky since players are always one click away from teleporting to safety. To up the ante, we’ve slipped the Elder Chaos Druids some forbidden knowledge, and they’re now capable of Teleblocking. Now, they’re unlikely to fire off the Teleblocks if you remain a safe distance away. If you are unfortunate enough to be hit by one, you can quickly re-log to clear it. Note that they’ll also re-up your Teleblock if it’s close to expiring, so you’ll need to get your Run on if you plan to escape! Meanwhile, we’ve opened up the southern side of the Chaos Temple to allow for two entry points – which means you and your friends can pincer opponents from each point or meet an opposing group in the middle! As per our poll, the Hard Clue step that directed players to the Chaos Temple has been moved to a safer location, near the Obelisk just northwards. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39707052/5c8d3151f5bd45fe6bd806f30793e5f3683e1a0a.png On the rewards front, the Pirates' provide reasonable consistent loot, so you’ll constantly be accumulating rewards and weighing up whether or not to make a quick exit. It's worth noting (pun intended) that the Amulet of Avarice will note your drops here, so feel free to bring one if you're comfortable with the added risk! Pirates also have an uncommon chance to drop Adamant Seeds or the Teleport Anchoring Scroll, both of which are tradeable. Adamant Seeds work almost exactly like Mithril Seeds except they'll move you to the east when planting, as opposed to west, which might lead to some interesting escapes... or at least some funky dance moves. The Teleport Anchoring Scroll (formerly known as the ‘Blipblock Scroll’, for which we express our sincere apologies) is a one-time consumable item which will makes you impervi...Varlamore: Part One Tweaks | April 3rdApr 3, 2024 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39707052/ada4fa457f7d6604005653258388301fc9ac24fb.png Those much-anticipated drop rates for Perilous Moons and the Colosseum are here! Along with more Varlamore tweaks and a peek at next week's update. Changelog - April 3rd Varlamore Updates Colosseum The Ranged Warbanders have been given a little buff, so their ranged level more accurately reflects the rest of their stats. Watch out though, as this means they will hit a little harder now! We've reduced the Warband Melee's maxhit to give you a little more of a fighting chance up against those fellas. Those taking on the Colosseum will now receive the correct number of Glory for stacked modifiers. We've upped the Colosseum security so you'll no longer find NPCs wandering the arena if they aren't supposed to be there. All of the Fortis Colosseum NPCs now have their full and correct attack style information when using Monster Examine. You can now trade the Dizana's Quiver for a total of 4,000 Sunfire Splinters by talking to Minimus. We have slightly reduced the number of Sunfire Splinters obtainable in Wave 1, and increased the number gathered from waves 9-12. So while you'll receive 20% less Splinters on your first wave, if you make it through those later rounds, you'll see a lot more! Perilous Moons We've taken a look at the Eclipse Boss and how much damage she's taking when at low hp, so you should no longer hit so many 1s! Sulphur Nagua's special attack will no longer bump them out of combat (which removes the window of opportunity for other pesky enemies getting a turn in when they shouldn't!) When fighting Moon bosses, the Ring of Recoil now correctly loses charges. Sipping tea from camps in the ruins will no longer be delayed during Perilous Moons. We've removed the forced camera movement when traversing Perilous Moons to make the journey more comfortable. To make it easier to escape the Perilous Moons bosses, we've made quick-escape the default option for the stairs. To reflect the lore around the Perilous Moons dungeon being newly discovered, you'll no longer find the diary entries detailing the dungeon's potions during the quest, only when you revisit the area. It's now consistently possible to kill Eclipse Moon during the Clone phase - even with single hitting weapons! We've now made it easier to tell when you've succeeded with the Fishing minigame during the Neypotzli dungeon, so now, when you have your net in the right place, you're guaranteed 1 fish, when you have it in the right place and succeed the roll, you'll receive 2 fish plus XP. You can now use a Stab attack style with the Dual Macuahuitl. General You can now cover all of your Falconry fun with a one-time fee, and it's easier than ever - we've added the ability to right-click pay option on Matthias! Changelog March 27th Easter 2024 Easter has arrived with a good old-fashioned mystery to unscramble. Catch up with the Easter Bunny outside the Grand Exchange to start the egg hunt. Added new Easter rewards, including fetching FashionScape and a new Book… Varlamore: Part One Feedback Changes Tweaked the look of the World Map around the moonlight antelopes. Corrected the blocking of one tile on Ralos' Rise. The Hunter Skill Cape and Max Cape menus now refer to their teleport options as ‘Hunter Areas’ rather than ‘Chinchompa Teleports’. Rebalanced the bosses from Perilous Moons: The Eclipse Moon boss now has slightly higher Defence. The Blue Moon boss builds Cold twice as fast. The Blue Moon boss heals more consistently during the Tornado phase. The Blood Moon boss’ healing from its third attack has been reduced. The Blood Moon boss’ healing from the Jaguar attacks has increased slightly. Removed a bush from the Sunlight Antelope area that prevented them from following players. The Fishing activity in the Perilous Moons dungeon now interrupts repeatable actions like Fletching. Corrected the description for Doom to state that it applies on any damage taken, rather than any damage taken 'off-Prayer'. Players can now toggle receiving duplicate Hunter Rumours. This toggle is ‘ON’ by default but can be changed using the ‘Rumour-Settings’ option on Verity. The naming of Rumours, Loot Sacks and Skill Guide references are now consistent and should reference Basic, Adept, Expert and Master tiers. Rotated the north and east traps to face the Pyre Foxes and increased the number of Pyre Foxes in the area. Improved the appearance of all Pitfall Trap creatures. Hunting for Red Chinchompas now correctly tells you to retrieve Fur. Razor-Backed Kebbit meat can now be stored in Meat Pouches. Obtaining Sunfire Splinters from Sunlight Antelopes will now correctly add them to the Collection Log. Reduced the respawn timer for Sunlight and Moonlight Antelopes. Players world hopping while Thieving in the Bazaar will now be able to do so faster. Fixed an issue where a Medium Anagram Clue behaved like a Challenge Scroll instead of a Clue Scroll. Made more trees across the Avium Savannah choppable. Fixed an issue where players couldn’t permanently disable the warnings inside Perilous Moons. Increased the buy limit of Atlatl Darts at the Grand Exchange. The Eclipse Atlatl’s requirements are now 50 Attack and Strength. The Master Clue that required the Fortis Salute now requires a normal Salute instead. One fish is now guaranteed when Fishing in Perilous Moons, although two fish can be obtained with a skill check. Previous Hotfixes Extended the range of Sol Heredit's Spear Strike and Shield Slam attacks. Restored Yew Trees to their usual spots. Players can no longer walk inside the walls of the Varlamore Crypt. For me, it feels akin to Final Fantasy 14 or World of Warcraft Classic: the players are at the core of the experience. But, when I ask senior narrative designer Ed Pilkington how the team balances enacting feedback with safeguarding the game's health, he says that, sometimes, "tough" choices need to be made. Collection Log {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39707052/2375c04963f16ec596af5c4a0d4aed22c6945985.png This week’s first batch of changes improve the Collection Log. You can now use the 'Search’ option within your Collection Log to click on results and view more information. You can also click on category names to navigate, and easily return to the main page, which should vastly improve the Collection Log experience! Last Man Standing Next, we’re heading to Ferox Enclave for some Last Man Standing changes! Firstly, we’ve increased the damage from standing in the fog for too long. We’re also introducing greater fog, which takes effect from 2 minutes and 30 seconds into the game. Any player who falls more than 16 tiles behind the fog will take even more damage than usual. After 2 minutes and 30 seconds in the game, the greater fog will activate, and you’ll be warned about how far away you and the fog are from the safe zone. If you’re closer than the fog, or on the same square as the fog, you’ll take no damage. If you’re less than 16 tiles into the fog, you’ll take 1-3 damage every other tick, ramping up over 6 ticks. However, should you fall more than 16 tiles into the fog, you’ll encounter greater fog – which can stack up to 10 damage every other tick! Note that consecutive hit tracking is not reset upon entering greater fog, so if you were already in the fog for 6 ticks, you’ll instantly start taking 10 damage. Yikes! After 10 minutes in the minigame, the fog mechanics will match their current behaviour. Let this be a warning to all you sneaky folks who like to hide in the fog – it’s time to get out there and face your enemies head-on! Combat Achievement Broadcasts Good news for aspiring Rune DJs – you can now customise Clan and Group Iron broadcasts to your heart’s content! Clans We’ve added two new settings to the PvM notifications section: Combat Achievements Task Broadcasts, and Combat Achievement Task Threshold. The former will allow you to choose which ranks receive Combat Achievement broadcasts. The latter will let you choose which tiers of Combat Achievements are broadcast – so you can skip the easy stuff, and only highlight your Clan’s greatest victories! Group Ironmen The same options have been added to the Group Ironman settings. Again, they’ll let you select which tiers of Combat Achievement are broadcast in the Group. Note that these settings are disabled by default, so if you want to meddle with them, you’ll need to head to the Settings menu! Forestry First up for Forestry, all unique drops from Forestry events are now automatically placed in the Inventory, as long as you have free space for them. Secondly, the bonus from Twitcher’s Gloves now applies to Redwood Trees – although do note that these mighty trunks only drop Clue Scroll Nests, so you won’t see Rings or Eggs even if you have those settings enabled on the Gloves. Like maybe they have a wheel of fortune somewhere they spin that spits out a collection of nouns, adjectives, and spurious reasons: "Player pickpockets half a million NPCs to get nothing much of value," or "Player spends 149 hours obtaining a raccoon," or even "Player catches a million terrible fish for reasons of inner peace." Then they all agree to act like these acts of lunacy actually happened to intimidate newcomers who might ruin their favourite game... Players can now toggle off the Scurrius food pile timer individually when using the enhanced client. When facing Scurrius, items dropped in public instances will now disappear after three minutes. Players can once again hide their Vengeance animation in PvP. The effect will still apply. Bankers will now give clearer feedback when players are unable to deposit items due to having a full stack of that item in the Bank. Barbarian Farming’s plant pot smashing technique can now be used on Spirit Tree Saplings. Bottles in Zemouregal’s hideout will no longer duplicate themselves when picked up. ‘Cooked Karambwan’ is now the default Cooking option and selecting ‘Poison Karambwan’ will prompt a toggleable warning message. Vardorvis now uses different sounds for his Ranged and Magic 'gaze' attacks, to help distinguish between them. The Clan Events menu now lists more bosses, including the Desert Treasure II bosses and the Revenant Maledictus. The Chaos Elemental respawn time has been reduced from 60 seconds to around 15 seconds. The Boss Kills log now includes the Desert Treasure II bosses. Bryophyta now drops a guaranteed Ensouled Head. Defender of Varrock Concepts Last week we released the iconic RuneScape quest, Defender of Varrock! So many of you have already revisited this classic story, continuing the Mahjarrat storyline and reuniting with some familiar faces (and skulls). Congrats to those of you who have already gotten your hands on the Zombie Axe! To celebrate the launch of this classic quest we thought we’d check in with Mod Jerv to see some of the brilliant concept art that helped bring the quest to life. Arrav {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39707052/2b967839aab9a2b4a54ee3118bc5a034f6bccfe0.png I wanted to put an Old School twist on Arrav’s original 2008 design. You’ll notice that he has a big axe instead of a sword, because in Old School RuneScape his statue and the museum display both portray him with the axe. The one on his in-game model isn’t exactly the same as the one in the museum – I imagined that he found a new one over the last few centuries. I also tried to pull in some elements from his shield, like the symbol on his belt, and the blues on the axe.
