Beta Patch Notes for 11/04/2024Apr 11, 2024 - Community Announcementsversion: v3.3.27.37496-public-beta Hello players! Following the previous changes, this new patch adds some more changes going in the same general direction and iterations on those previous changes to ensure everything is balanced. Balancing Clans After the previous patch's changes to collaborative actions among allies, now being rewarded with positive relations gains, we're also adding those gains to some specific collaborative actions, like the rat clan healing its allies or the bear clan using its production bonuses in their zones. Rat When healing ally units, the rat clan improves their relations with this clan. Last Stand Shaman ability (Weapon Forge) effect is now capped to a maximum +300% Dmg increase. Burning a Sheep as Rat clan now provides 60 days of Purification Pyre (instead of 90 previously). Bear When Kaija and/or Borgild provide an ally zone with the Kindred Spirit production bonus (fame 200), they improve their relations with this clan. Winter Festival now reduces the clan units’ food consumption during winter by -30% instead of boosting food production. Eagle Feeding a Sheep to the Hawks now calls a maximum of 3 Hawks on the Boneyard (limiting the max amount of resources possible to obtain in this way). Raven Following the nerfs made to the Raven raids, and especially the potential relic harass made with the previous patch, we're pretty happy with how tuned down the raid toxicity can now feel, but we're a bit worried about those changes we've also reduced a lot of the appeal, not necessarily of the raids themselves, but of the relic. With this patch, we're trying to balance those things by making the relic more of an assured return on investment for the Raven without making it at the detriment of the targeted clan. Relic - new additional effect: Raids now collect resources from the zone when they arrive rather than when they leave (making sure to obtain the resources of the raid even if the whole raid dies). Raids Silos now also count as a source of Food when the zone is raided. Each mercenary killed during the raid increases the raid cooldown of the zone by +20 seconds (previously +30). Other Some of the Dwarf faction units now attack at distance. Conquest With this patch, the new Conquest Battles of the Owl Clan are now available to play in the beta!! New Conquest Battles Titanomachy All clans start with a Guardian of Realms. If two guardians meet, they have to fight to the death. When a guardian dies, its clan is eliminated. Make yours the best and defeat the others before they become too strong. Age of Vampires Your warchief and the Erlking are the two last remaining nightwalkers. There can only be one left. Kill it before he gets to you. Battle for Midgard Yggdrasil is under attack from many realms. Portals are awakening and armies are coming to destroy it. Resist the assaults and close the portals to end this. Bugfix Kingdom - Fixed Town Hall tile with 4 slot instead of 5 Squirrel - Fixed Mongering-Rumor not increasing meal ...Beta Patch Notes for 04/04/2024Apr 4, 2024 - Community Announcementsv3.3.25.37385-public-beta Hello players! Following your feedback, we’ve made a few new adjustments to the new foes and map generation. We also want to take this beta to introduce new balancing changes and tweaks to some clans and to the way you gain positive relations with ally clans. Foes We’ve noticed many of you expressing disappointment at the fact that the Bear and Boar units are more or less equivalent, with the same overall power and behavior. We’ll try to address that by making the Boar a stronger and more aggressive unit than the Bear, so both represent different challenges. With those new changes, the bear becomes the more resistant tanky unit, requiring lots of damage to go down, while the Boar is the more aggressive unit, dealing heavy blows your units must tank long enough to kill the creature. Boar stats 15 Atk (12 previously) 110 Hp (100 previously) 8 Def (8.5 previously) 5 Moves Speed (3.5 previously) Map generation After the previous changes we made to the wild units spawned in the zones around the clan Town Halls, some of you have (rightfully) pointed out that having the same power spread across 3 zones or 4-5 zones did not result in equivalent starts in terms of difficulty. So, we adjusted the way the foes are spawned to take the number of zones available to the clan into account. Spawn hostility The overall number of hostile units close to a clan’s Town Hall will now also depend on the number of zones in contact with the clan's starting zone. Balancing Diplomacy Those changes are based on feedback made during the previous balancing patch we discussed with players on Discord. However, we didn’t have the time to implement and test them properly before the previous patch's release, so we’re pushing them now. The idea behind those changes is to reward actions that benefit ally clans with a gain of relations with them, especially for actions taken by support clans like Squirrel and Stoat. General When feasting for their team, a clan improves its relationship with all the affected ally clans. (Relation is passively enhanced for the entire length of the Feast) Squirel Meals prepared by the Squirrel for their allies improve their relationship with the affected clans. (Passively increases while the Meal is ongoing) Rumor-Mongering now also increases all relation gains by +100%. (Offering Well, Trade-Routes, Gift-Routes, Rumor-Mongering passive effects, and Meals). Rumor-Mongering passive relation gains have been readjusted to remain identical to the previous value even when multiplied with this new effect. Stoat When collecting a Levy for their team, the Stoat clan improves their relationship with all the affected clans. (Passively increases while the Levy is ongoing) Horse Yes, we’re making changes to the Horse clan. I know we said repeatedly we wouldn’t, but here we are. Do not expect anything too crazy, though. Our goal with those changes is mainly to reduce the gap between a good and a bad Horse start. We want to ensure the clan ge...Patch notes for 26/03/2024Mar 26, 2024 - Community Announcementsv3.4.20.37201 Added log for 4v2 lobby Dragon - Fixed Dragonkin captured with negative life in conquest mission Fixed camera zoom after cinematics in campaign Fixed leave pop up premade spawning after leaving a premade Fixed skins in coop conquest Known Issues Crash in coop conquest (P2P/Server) if players use pause Some localization missingClaws & Jaws preview - Wild foesMar 26, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsHello Vikings! See you soon for more info on the update and what could come next! Beta Patch Notes for 26/03/2024Mar 26, 2024 - Community Announcementsv3.3.21.37220-beta Hello players! Big changes are coming to the ecosystem of Northgard; new animals are appearing, and this is changing the world for everyone. Here are the details: New contents Foxes and Boars Foxes For some time, foxes have been confined to a Conquest battle. We’re finally adding them as a general animal of the base game that can be encountered in any game. Foxes are new animals. They have the same aggressive behavior as wolves, but they are less powerful, way faster, and attack in numerous groups. So keep an eye on them. Fox Burrow is a new building equivalent to the Wolf Den. It spawns new foxes that will attack the adjacent zones if left unchecked. Closing it will grant 25 Fame and 100 Kröwns. Boars To join foxes, we’re also adding boars as a new animal you can encounter in any game. Boar is a new animal in Northgard. It has passive behavior similar to that of a bear but will defend itself and its territory fiercely if you attack it. Sheep Sheeps are NOT a new animal, but we’ve changed their spawn rules and reworked them to make them more useful, especially in later games, and to create new specific interactions with some clans. The idea is to make the sacrifice for food no longer the automatic and only use for sheep it is currently. We also want sheep to spawn in further zones as an attractive later reward. Sheep Sheep now grants a 50% wood consumption reduction during winter in the zone it is in (-30% previously). When several sheep are in the same zone, this bonus increases, but multiplicatively. 1 sheep will reduce the consumption in the zone by 50%. 2 sheep will reduce it by 75%. 3 sheep by 87,5%. And so on… Sheep can now spawn in almost any zone of the map. Lynx clan The clan can choose to sacrifice a sheep to get 60 Trophies (but no Food). Wolf Clan When sacrificing a sheep for food, the clan will get 100 food out of it instead of 80. Dragon Clan The clan can send a sheep to the Sacrificial Pyre to gain 4 dragon essences (but no food). Eagle Clan The clan can sacrifice a sheep to trigger a boneyard in the zone, calling all its hawks (but granting no food). Rat Clan The clan can choose to sacrifice a sheep to light up the Purification Pyres for 90 days (but granting no food). Owl Clan Sheep reduce the food consumption in the zone by 35% (25% previously). This bonus also increases for each additional sheep in the same zone. Also multiplicatively. Map Generation Following those changes, we’ve reworked the map generation more globally to account for the addition of those new animals and rules. We’ve also taken this opportunity to ensure more fair hostile foes repartition between clans and to adjust the difficulty. Spawn Hostility Until now, it was possible for different clans to face huge differences in hostility at spawn. For example, one clan could start with 1 wolf in zones around its town hall, while another starts with 3 wolves. All clans on a map will now start with the same level of hostility on adjacent zones (Mea...Patch notes for 20/03/2024Mar 20, 2024 - Community Announcementsv3.4.16.37124 Bugfixes Added new logs to understand the 4v2 issue Owl - Fixed a crash in conquest when selecting a root Fixed some crash when loading a save Thor Wrath - Fixed Barricade construction near the center Known Issues Performance issues Some localization missingPatch Notes for 19/03/2024Mar 19, 2024 - Community Announcementsv3.4.14.37059 Bugfix Multiplayer Season will end the 27/03 Added security to avoid the join pop up while in a lobby Added security to avoid full lobby occurence Fixed crash when creating/joining a conquest lobby with special characters in player names Fixed lobby not starting if players wasn't ready Fixed spectator choosing lore for players Joining a premade while looking for a game will stop the search Owl Owl - Fixed Parasitic Vegetable working for military units Known Issues Performance issues Thor Wrath - Can't place a Barricade near the center Some localization missing Conquest Owl - Crash when selecting a root if you have special character in Player name Victory animations may not appearSteam Spring Sale has begunMar 14, 2024 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/25920479/742bc846710e7b6ec6dc661fa39fd67aeb22b3cf.png Spring is upon us warchiefs, drop your fur coats and find new faces in Northgard Northgard is now on sale at 75% off! After the open beta period, we are now ready to release all the changes and new additions we wanted to bring to the game with this new release! The main focus of this update is to make playing Ranked Multiplayer more fair and balanced, and playing Conquest with your friends easier and more enjoyable. As well as to bring shiny new animations, UI improvements and more. This patch contains new features for the Ranked Multiplayer, Conquest, the UI, Clans balancing, and many bug fixes. v3.4.3.36866 Ranked Multiplayer Since we’ve reworked the Ranked Multiplayer with the addition of the lobby finder, we’ve seen a lot of feedback and requests for improvements and new possibilities to be added. Although we cannot do everything and not all at once, we still want to develop and grow the feature in the long term, and with this update comes the first batch of improvements we wanted to add based on your feedback: Gains and Loss of GPs have been adjusted to be more fair. Multi-queue (looking for different types of games) is now possible. A Join pop-up now appears when finding a lobby to ensure players joining are not AFK. Ranks - New players no longer start at 300 GPs and in Stone league, but as unranked until they play 5 Ranked multiplayer games. Ready Button has been added to the lobby. (The game will launch when all players are ready or when the timer ends) Disconnection - In team games, if a player fails to connect or loses connection during the game, their teammates will be allowed to concede without losing GPs after some time. Conquest We’ve reworked the Conquest menu to make it easier to play co-op with your friends, and we’ve buffed the general bonuses to make them more interesting. Also to avoid, especially on extreme difficulty having only some bonuses being chosen above all others. Bonus All general conquest bonus values have been buffed to be more impactful. Some Conquest bonuses have been reworked to be more useful: Bonus allowing a specific building to take no building slot now functions for all buildings producing a specific resource. Bonus allowing for free updates of a specific building now functions for all buildings producing a specific resource. Co-op Co-op bonuses - When playing Co-op Conquest, each player now has their own pool of bonuses to choose from. Conquest Co-op flow has been reworked for more simplicity. Conquest Map - When playing Co-op Conquest, a new visual indication has been added to highlight what Battle is selected by each player. UI Whenever we can, we keep on improving the visuals and UI of the game to make them as clear and as shiny as we can. Improvements Menus Background Illustrations - Perspective effect added on illustration animations. Clan Selection - It is now possible to open the Lore-Tree of each clan from the selection screen. Clan Selection - You can collapse start-with descriptions of clans. Known Issues Close button in Hunting Path window sometimes does not appear Some texts translations might be missing Some texts might display missing values Lynx - Mythical Lure doesn’t cost Food to build Public beta patch notes for 22/02/2024Feb 22, 2024 - Community Announcementsv3.3.30.36663-beta Balancing Based on your feedback and our own observations, we’ve made a few adjustments to previous changes of balancing, and introduced some new changes to other clans. The clans are the Lynx, the Bear and the Raven. Lynx It appeared that even with the previous changes to the Lynx we’ve made, the clan still wasn’t as free to move and clear how it wanted because of the weaknesses on Mieliki especially, so we’ve made a few new adjustments. Start-with Mieliki recruitment cost has been reduced from 150 to 100 Kröwns. Fame Fame 200 Waves of the mythical lure now spawn +25% faster Path of the hunter Caring Sibling Mielikki is now healed as well when she is with at least one of the Lynx. Bear Based on feedback and internal tests we’ve made, we agree that Winter Festival isn’t as useful as it could have been, the delay before recruiting Kaija at the start of the game is outdated when faced with other clans like Lynx, and the Fame 500 could be more interesting. Start-With Delay on Kaija recruitment has been removed. Fame Fame 500 Attack Power gain bonus has been increased from 1 to 1.5%. Blessings Winter Festival Winter Festival now replaces Freya’s Blessing, as a Blessing exclusive to Bear. Raven We’ve seen interesting discussions about possible tweaks on Raven, we’re not sure how impactful or needed these changes might be, but we think beta is a good environment to test them to see if they lead to more interesting options for the clan. Start-With Lore produced when scouting has been buffed from +1.5 to +2. Fame Fame 200 Trade-routes with Homeland prices have been reduced from 1.5 to 1 Kröwns. Conquest When playing Co-op Conquest, each player will now have their own pool of bonuses to choose from. When playing Co-op Conquest, a new visual indication has been added to highlight what Battle is selected by each player. Some Conquest bonuses have been reworked to be more interesting: requires no building slot > Now works not just with a specific building, but with all buildings producing a specific . (Food, Happiness, Kröwns…) can be upgraded freely X times > Now works not just with a specific building, but with all buildings producing a specific . UI Units now have icons next to their stats highlighting the categories they belong to (Military unit, Specialized worker, Animal, Draconic unit, etc…) From your Multiplayer Ranked screen, or the Leaderboard screen there is now a new tab highlighting the Cosmetic Rewards that can be obtained at the end of the season. The Problem Report button is now a more discreet, and looks like this: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/25920479/9bf0089ddbcdd88782d7c847403c0850e828a2ce.png Bugfix Snake - Stolen Lore works as intended. Snake - Rapacious Exploitation colonization cost reduction now displays the correct value. Owl - After Clan relic is forged, zones can be upgraded correctly without warning messages saying the maximum number of buildings has not been reached yet. Lore/Faith menu - The exit button on the top righ...Public Beta patch notes for 15/02/2024Feb 15, 2024 - Community Announcementsv3.3.27.36556-beta Balancing Following the first changes we’ve introduced regarding Ox and Lynx, we kept working on the part we wanted to tweak on those two clans specifically. Ox Since our rework of military unit camp bonuses, Ox was weakened by the change on the Warriors, so we want to give it this strength back. We also globally want to reward a more aggressive playstyle, making earnings like Warcraft stronger, but only rewarding fighting and no longer passive XP production. Military Training (in addition to existing bonus) Each camp upgrade provides an additional +5% Attack Power to the associated unit Ferocious Charge Has been changed to only focus on Warriors but make their weapon forge entirely free. Warcraft Lore and Fame is now only gained on kills, but the values have been increased. 50% of Military XP converted into Lore - instead of 30% previously. 20% of Military XP converted into Fame - instead of 10% previously. Lynx With those new changes we tried to make Lynx start a bit more comfortable, especially its early clearing, giving it more ways to remain outside its territory without being penalized for it. We also wanted to reaffirm Mielikki’s role as master huntress, making her less related to managing the clan economy and being inside your territory, and giving her instead more reasons to be outside in the wild hunting with her lynxes. Start-with Hunters have a native +10% production bonus. Lore Spoils of Plenty The lures can now be placed from the building menu and no longer require Mielikki to do it. (The +10% production bonus to Hunters on Lures is removed because it is now a global start-with) Fame Fame 200 - Mythical lure The mythical lure can now be placed from the building menu and no longer requires Mielikki to do it. Each animal kill decreases the next Feast cost by -7.5% - instead of -5% previously. Path of the hunter Caring Sibling The heal on Brundr and Kaelinn now triggers outside your territory if Mielikki is in the zone with them. Sibling Rivalry Brundr food production now works everywhere and no longer just inside your territory. The Wise One Mielikki lore production is no longer restricted to your territory only. Bugfix This includes issues fixed now as well as some hotfixes that might have happened in between patches. Removed watermark in game No need to have named a custom lobby to research a game with lobby finder Known Issues Red cross not showing up on lore/faith UI sometimes Lynx lure can be placed on a tile with natural Deer If you have a bug you would like to report, use the "report a problem" button in-game! With this new beta you will get access to the latest changes and additions we’ve been working on regarding Ranked Multiplayer, Conquest, UI, Balancing, and more! Join the beta, test those features and let us know what you think! The more players join the beta, and the more tests and reports we have, the sooner we can detect and anticipate eventual problems and adjustments needed that might arise from those new changes. 3.3.26.365089-beta Ranked Multiplayer Since we’ve reworked the Ranked Multiplayer with the addition of the lobby finder, we’ve seen a lot of feedback and requests for improvements and new possibilities to be added. Although we cannot do everything and not all at once, we still want to develop and grow the feature in the long term and with this update comes the first batch of improvements we wanted to add based on your feedback It is now possible to queue for multiple types of games. Addition of a “join” pop-up to make sure players joining a lobby are not AFK. Players no longer start at 300 GPs in Stone league, but start as unranked and will get a rank and GP amount after they played 5 Ranked multiplayer games. Ready Button has been added to the lobby. (Game will launch when all players are ready or when the timer ends) Disconnect Feature If at the beginning of a team game, a player fails to connect, they have 5 minutes to still join. After this time, they are considered as defeated, and the other players from the team have a few minutes to concede as well to end the game, without losing GPs. In order to quit and look for another game. If a player disconnects during the game, they also have 5 minutes to reconnect, after that this will count as a defeat and this player loses GPs. But the other players of the team will have a few minutes to concede without losing GPs themselves. (To avoid being punished for a team-mate leaving and forced to play a 2v3) The opponent team will still gain GPs as this will still be counted as a victory on their side. If they do not concede during this time, the game considers that they chose to keep playing anyway and gains/loss of GPs will behave as usual depending on win or defeat. Conquest We’ve reworked the Conquest menu to make it easier to play co-op with your friends, and we’ve buffed the general bonuses to make them more interesting. Also to avoid, especially on extreme difficulty having only some bonuses being chosen above all others. Conquest Co-op flow has been reworked for more simplicity. All general Conquest bonuses have been buffed to be more impacting. UI Whenever we can, we keep on improving the visuals and UI of the game to make them as clear and as shiny as we can. General At the end of a game new victory animations are now played, highlighting the type of victory achieved. From the clan selection screen it is now possible to open the Lore-Tree of each clan. From this screen you can collapse start-with descriptions of clans. In-game you can now check clans Fame titles by ...Patch notes for 05/02/2024Feb 5, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsPatch notes v3.3.18.36375 Bugfix Lore production: Fixed free faith/lore when Monument of Gods were active Conquest The Cursed: Fixed infinite Draugr spawn on online coop conquest Known Issues Ranked: Uneven team in 3v3 Ranked: illogical GP repartition Cross of Vidar: Black screen when ending some missions AI: diverse issues Localisation: Some text are missing Northgard in 2024Feb 1, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsHello Everyone! After a good month working on the previous update as well as planning the incoming year, we can now present what awaits you this year in Northgard! You can expect a new way of handling the updates, and some content added thanks to the feedback and suggestion of the active players of the community. Enough talk for now, here is the plans for Northgard in 2024... THE COMING UPDATES {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/25920479/80c84aba9034a2ace014d4c7efd6b5203cd0a78e.png Rivals & Allies As stated last year, the Lobby Finder was tested in Multiplayer and we received a lot of feedback and suggestions to improve on the current system. That is why our first update will focus on this as well as other improvements on the UI that were long requested. More news will be shared soon, and you can already set yourself for an open beta incoming later this month to test it all out before it goes live! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/25920479/1c4a64ce5e15b4741ffaccc9bec11c767dedd7c5.png Claws & Jaws | Trade & Prestige Answering the feedback on the recent updates, we decided to split the DLC releases in two key moments. Those moments will be sorted in two times. At first the community update, adding new content for everyone to enjoy for free Then, nurturing on the new content of the last update, a new clan for everyone to claim and master For Claws & Jaws, expect a focus on the wild beasts of Northgard, and a new clan being as feral and aggressive as them. For Trade & Prestige, we’ll look into a way to enhance the experience of the victory of the same name. Giving it more depth and adding a new challenge on it. This will be added with several enhancements around that subject and with a new clan focused on the economy. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/25920479/cf730157e34696e43701848112c9659edfea8b4a.png The future of conquest?
