The roadmap content discussed are highlights we know players are eagerly awaiting, but the roadmap is not a comprehensive list of every change arriving in Arkesia over the next few months, and could change. As we approach each month, more details will be shared. New quality of life (QoL) updates, balance tuning, adjustments to support new and returning players, and unique events may appear in the upcoming months. But with extreme challenge comes prestige, and we have a variety of prestigious rewards planned for those who can vanquish Thaemine in his most powerful form. The race for Thaemine The First will begin on April 20 at 10AM PT (5PM UTC) for parties who have cleared Hard Mode. Checkout the Thaemine The First Leaderboard, where the first teams to successfully clear in each region will live in Arkesian history. Thaemine The First Highlight Submission We want to highlight the most memorable community moments from your journey to first clear. Share your highlights for a chance to appear in our community spotlight video. When you have a clip or highlight you’d like to share with us, please Submit Here. Upon clicking the link you’ll see an option to upload a file. When you choose the clip you want to upload, you will be prompted to enter a description and an author. The description can be a summary of the clip, or something you’d like us to watch out for. The author is your in-game name so that you can get credit in the video. Our team will review your clips and put the best of the best in a highlight video commemorating the Lost Ark community’s epic quest to clear Thaemine The First. Not everyone who submits a clip will be included, but we welcome everyone to participate. As for which clips to submit, they can be whatever you want to share with the community. Obviously if you’re one of the players who clears Thaemine The First, we’d love to see it! But it doesn’t all have to be triumphs. If you are unable to access the Gift Inventory, you are not eligible for this Quest or reward. All quests can be found at the top of the Gift Inventory section of Discord on both Desktop and the App. There should be a ‘New’ badge indicating a new Quest is available. This year, the theme will be ‘Lost Ark Characters’ to allow players a wide variety of creative freedom. Emotes should be based around fan-favorite Lost Ark NPCs (including Sidereals, Legion Commanders, rapport characters, Mokokos, or other notable characters from Arkesia). If you're looking for inspiration, you can think about these characters emotions when seeing or facing Thaemine. In Korea, player-centric emotes were added to the game when the first group proved victorious over Thaemine. While we have plenty planned to celebrate the first groups to clear in the West (learn more in the Thaemine The First Details Article), we wanted to open up the emote section after the wildly successful competition last year that resulted in many of the most popular emotes being added to the game. At the end of the week, the top 5 will be selected as winners and added into the game for all players to use! Adding the final emotes to the game will take several months, and a final date will be announced after the competition. The prizes? The five winners will have their emotes uploaded into Lost Ark for the community to use! To help interested adventurers prepare to master this new martial artist's arsenal and relentlessly bash the biggest and baddest enemies in Arkesia, we partnered with none other than Breaker expert and Lost Ark Creator Program member Saintone. Find the full breakdown below a few class identity descriptions for players looking to learn about the basics. Class Identity Stamina Energy/Shock Energy/Tenacious Power Just like the Scrapper martial artist class, Stamina and Shock resource energy fuel one another as you use your skills. When using Stamina skills, your Stamina gauge decreases while the Shock gauge increases - and vice versa. When any skill successfully hits enemy, Tenacious Power is gained. When using your Tenacious Power meter is full, you can activate Brawl King Stance for more speedy combat. Brawl King Stance is enhanced when using the Brawl King Storm engraving and replaced with Asura State when using the Asura's Path engraving. Brawl King Stance When Tenacious Power reaches 100%, you can switch into Brawl King Stance by pressing the Z key. When entering Brawl King Stance, Movement Skill cooldown is reset and Atk. Speed +10%. In Brawl King Stance, Basic Attack is enhanced. Upon landing the last basic attack, Stamina Skill and Shock Skill's cooldown -5%. When entering Brawl King Stance, for 10s, outgoing damage from you and your party members +6%. When using Basic Attacks while using Stamina Skill in Brawl King Stance, the final hit of the Basic Attack occurs immediately. Asura State When Asura Energy reaches 100%, you can enter 'Asura State' by pressing the Z key. When entering Asura State, Fighting Spirit effect changes into Sura Destruction effect, and for 10s, outgoing damage from you and your party members +6%. In Asura State, basic attacks are enhanced and damage increases based on Crit Rate. When Sura Destruction is activated, Skill Damage including Awakening and Basic Attack skills increases. When Sura Destruction is activated, Movement Skill changes and Move Speed +15% Press X to activate Defensive Speculation. When Defensive Speculation is used, gain Push Immunity for 2s, gain Shield 40% of Max HP, and Incoming Damage -20%. When Defensive Speculation is used, when hit by a boss of a specific rank or higher, Penalty Meter -50%. After using Defensive Speculation, if you are attacked within 2s, the duration of Defensive Speculation increases by 3s 1 time. Server merges will be straightforward for players who have a roster of characters on one of the servers (they’ll just need to log-in to the new server), but players who have a roster on both servers will have their rosters combined. Our teams at Smilegate RPG and Amazon Games are working to optimize the merge process and shorten the amount of downtime, but the process is complex and will take additional time. While many of our past actions have been focused on reducing the efficacy and number of bots to improve the player experience of every adventurer in Arkesia, we have also been developing measures to better identify and action against RMT at scale. Our team conducted a major ban wave targeting accounts that transacted large amounts of RMT Gold earlier this week. To accompany this ban wave, we wanted to take a moment to reiterate our stance on RMT and correct some misconceptions we’ve seen circulating in the community. While we can’t share all of the measures that our team is taking (as that would grant those attempting to break the rules an upper-hand), we can share a general look into those policies. Infractions will be punished on an escalating basis, taking into account the severity of the RMT and the number of previous infractions, all the way up to permanent bans. If a player RMTs Gold, we will take it away. Spending the Gold after receiving it will not prevent disciplinary action. If the player spends the Gold and it can't be taken away, that increases the severity of the infraction, leading back to the point above. We track RMT Gold through multiple accounts, so washing the Gold through secondary accounts will not protect an account from action. Every account involved in the chain will face punishment. There is a false perception that spending money in the game prevents significant disciplinary action when RMT-ing. The recent ban wave included users that monetarily invested in Lost Ark. We know that RMT is a top player concern and negatively impacts the in-game economy for all players. While we can’t always share a look into our plans, we are persistently combating bots and RMT. This is no small amount of content, as we had 4 new continents and 4 new classes in a relatively fast pace. Our goal for 2024 is to balance the speed of the adventurers’ contents progression and gap between KR contents update. As announced by the Roadmap, Breaker will be released in March and Thaemine will release in April. As Thaemine will be challenging to try, we have prepared various events starting in February. As for the latest Echidna (Ladon) Raid and Kurzan continent released in Korea, we are collaborating with Amazon Games to find the optimal update timing. There are two versions of Valtan Extreme - Normal at Item Level 1580, and Hard at Item Level 1620. With greater challenge comes greater rewards. There are first-time-clear rewards that will be given upon clearing 2 Gates, along with rewards as you reclear. Each roster can enter the raid once every 2 weeks, with gate progress bound to the character that cleared the first gate. Gold can be obtained regardless of the character being designated to earn Gold or not upon clearing. The Adventurers’ journey of finding the Ark ends in Elgacia. After that, adventurers visit Voldis for the pursuit of a new objective, opening up a whole new phase different from the past. In a nutshell, Voldis is where the past and the present encounter each other, leading to the future— making this region a crucial bifurcation revealing deeper concepts of the lore in Lost Ark.
