Lost Ark

End of 2022 RoadmapOct 3, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsHeroes of Arkesia, The Rage with the Machinist Update recently released a ton of new content in Arkesia with the Machinist Advanced Class, Kakul-Saydon Legion Raid, and new progression events— but we know players are eager to learn what’s arriving in the coming months, so let’s dive in. There are two main stories being told over the next three months as we look to close out 2022: The next few months mark the road to the Brelshaza Legion Raid— one of the most challenging, unique, and beautifully dangerous raids in all of Lost Ark. As we head toward the climactic battle against the Phantom Legion Commander, new raids will be added in October for the heroes in Arkesia to hone their teamwork, skills, and ability to overcome unique mechanics, and new progression events to provide upgrade materials and progression opportunities. December will bring Brelshaza alongside a host of other content to end the year with a bang! The release of both the Reaper and Summoner Advanced Classes over the next three months conclude our plan of releasing the first 21 Advanced Classes before other new (or future) classes are added and give new opportunities for players to fill out their rosters with their favorite playstyles. The content and updates found below are some of the highlights we know players are eagerly awaiting, and is not a comprehensive list of every change arriving in Arkesia over the next few months. Stay tuned to our website and social channels for future release notes including the full list of new content, cosmetics, balance changes, events, bug-fixes, and more included in these updates. During the Abyss Raid event, 'Scale of Harmony' is applied, changing character stats to match the Guardian's level. Item Level 1302 or higher is required to battle Mystic, and an abundance of weekly rewards await those who rise to the challenge. Rather than chasing the normal rewards of gear, materials, and everything else you’d receive in a Legion Raid, Inferno rewards instead showcase your victory with titles, achievements, Stronghold structures, and more! ‘Scale of Balance’ is applied, and the raid requires use of the Book of Coordination, so everyone’s gear is normalized against the level of your Legion Commander opponent. Downtime for the update will begin on September 28 at 12AM PT (7AM UTC) and is expected to last 4 hours. Downtime for regions with server merges is expected to take longer, estimated up to 16 hours. The Machinist arrives in Arkesia armed to the teeth with highest-tech machine guns, laser weapons, and drones found in Arthentine— ready to blast, burn, and neutralize any threat with surgical precision. An old threat also resurfaces in the next Legion Raid; Mayhem Demon Legion Commander Kakul-Saydon and his dangerously alluring Midnight Circus. When standard weapons and drone strikes aren’t enough to take down a target, the Machinist can activate their identity skill and suit up in cutting-edge technology with the Hypersync ability. Energy cores for the high-tech Hypersync suit can be charged by landing attacks, and once entered, Hypersync core energy will be expended by abilities until the Machinist runs out. In this raid, you’ll face the insanity of the Midnight Circus as you battle members of the Mayhem Legion and Legion Commander Kakul-Saydon. No revives are available mid-battle, so be ready to fight for your life. Differing from Valtan & Vykas, Kakul-Saydon is a four-player Legion raid. This Legion Raid has 3 gates, and is complete with a swathe of new unique characteristics, abilities, and mechanics. While players will need to be Item Level 1475 to attempt the Normal difficulty of the raid, an easier version of the raid called Midnight Circus: Rehearsal can be entered by players at Item Level 1385 to practice the difficult mechanics and teamwork required to vanquish the Mayhem Legion. Rehearsal and Normal Modes share a weekly lockout per character. A character that clears Rehearsal Mode first will not be able to do Normal Mode that week. Once a player has completed Normal Mode Kakul-Saydon in a given week they can no longer clear Rehearsal Mode that week on any character. The Machinist’s skills are split into four categories; Normal, Drone, Combo, and Sync. Normal skills are centered around the high-tech arsenal of guns, grenades, packed by the Machinist, which all charge the Hypersync Battery. Drone skills are focused on utilizing the Drone in unique ways— firing missiles, lasers, and even baby Drones out in precise, remote strikes. Joint skills are focused on the Machinist and Drone working together in harmony to unleash powerful joint attacks. Lastly, Sync skills are the uniquely powerful attacks unleashed by the high-tech suit that can only be accessed while Hypersync is active. https://images.ctfassets.net/umhrp0op95v1/2dVCMAV4408uUWYiPXirTd/fd9fb4b43b62be4c6270b404f0033cf6/LA_Machinist_Screens__4__1080.jpeg Class Engravings & Skills Like other Advanced Classes, the Machinist has two unique Class Engravings that enhance different aspects of the class. The Evolutionary Legacy Class Engraving is focused on the Hypersync Mode, adding damage, reducing cooldowns, and granting Core Energy back to maximize time spent in the high-tech suit. Enhancing another key aspect of the class, the Arthentinean Skill Class Engraving is centered around the Machinist’s teamwork with the Drone, by increasing Drone and Joint skills and movement speed while the Drone is attached to the Machinist. Class Engravings Evolutionary Legacy Level 1 - During Hypersync Mode, on hit, Sync skills inflict Damage +2% (Max 3 stacks) and Cooldown -0.5s. Also, Hypersync Mode returns 40% of its Core Energy cost when canceled. The August “Under the Arkesian Sun” Update arrives next week on August 24 after the weekly maintenance and reset, bringing with it the Pet Ranch and Legendary Pets. The Pet Ranch is a new location in the Stronghold where Pets can play, grow into more helpful companions, and help you earn valuable rewards. Pets earn Pet Expertise to level up, while producing Jam Cookies you can exchange for rewards. But Pets can’t continue to earn Expertise and produce Jam Cookies without some well-deserved breaks. To balance your Pet’s morale, the Pet Ranch is separated into two sections; the Cookie Workshop and the Ranch. Ranch & Cookie Workshop In the Ranch, Pets regain Morale while they relax and play with other Pets. Pets can either be placed in the Ranch or the Cookie Workshop as they regain morale or spend it while creating Jam cookies, but not both at the same time. Working in the Cookie Workshop will decrease a Pet’s morale, and a Pet without morale can no longer produce Jam Cookies. Pets earn both Expertise and Jam Cookies simultaneously in the Cookie Workshop, and when the Pet’s Expertise reaches max it can be upgraded. You can unlock additional Cookie Workshop slots through Stronghold research to place more Pets and increase your output. The amount of Jam Cookies produced depends on the Pet’s grade, increasing as the Pet is upgraded from Rare to Epic to Legendary. Before we dive into the items and rewards you can exchange Jam Cookies for, let’s dive into why you want to earn Pet Expertise— upgrading your Pets to Legendary. https://images.ctfassets.net/umhrp0op95v1/2BdfPY2X7dtpxtKFUtNmC8/3f96c2575fc1dab68552a69b9c3d08f2/Pet_Ranch_CookieMachine_2_740.jpeg Legendary Pets Pets can be upgraded to Legendary by reaching max Pet Expertise and spending Pet Growth Tokens, which can be earned by exchanging Jam Cookies. While Legion Raid Normal and Hard modes prove to be a challenging experience for many— Inferno takes it to the next level. It’s all about proving you’re the among the best of the best in Arkesia, and earning the accompanying prestige. We partnered with veteran Lost Ark raiders Saintone, ATK, and EndieM8 to provide tips, tricks, and other advice for groups looking to rise to the challenge. Inferno Legion Raids Overview Before we dive in, here’s a quick refresher on how Inferno mode varies from Normal and Hard. Rather than chasing the normal rewards of gear, honing materials, and everything else you’d receive in a Legion Raid, Inferno rewards instead showcase your victory with titles, achievements, and Stronghold structures! On top of differing rewards, there are a few key changes between Normal/Hard and Inferno difficulties: ‘Scale of Balance’ is applied, and the raid requires use of the Book of Coordination, so everyone’s gear is normalized against the level of your Legion Commander opponent. The gate progression system will not be active - you can’t make it half-way and come back later in the week. Inferno mode will not count against your weekly attempt limit for Legion Raids, so you can battle a Legion Raid Commander on Normal/Hard and Inferno in the same week, and try Inferno as many times as you’d like. https://images.ctfassets.net/umhrp0op95v1/6KUmrFBzpeSHx9Aodx0RXX/1a75f8aa47ad889aaf709e6439dd45cd/LA_Valtan_Inferno_Cine_1_1080.jpeg Getting Started From team composition, to Battle Items, to mental approach, there’s a lot that goes into clearing a tough, team-based activity. For each of these sections we’ll provide advice from our veterans, and end with some specific tips for the Valtan Legion Raid. Before we dive in, a word of encouragement from Saintone, ATK, and EndieM8: “So you’re thinking about challenging Inferno mode! Inferno mode is significantly harder than non-Inferno content, but you are more than good enough to clear it. Inferno mode grants you prestigious titles and other vanity that you can show off with, but by far the best thing about doing Inferno mode is that you’ll learn things about the raids and your class that you didn’t know before. It will help you get better as a player and you can enjoy utilizing that mastery in even your weekly non-Inferno runs.” -Saintone “I’ve personally increased my performance in raids by a lot after trying out Inferno mode with my friends. If you desire to increase your mechanical skills, playing Inferno mode will definitely boost your performance for regular raids.” - ATK “The hardest part can often be starting. We all have to start somewhere, be prepared for a few sessions of progression with many wipes. Don't psyche yourself out! It's as challenging as ...August 3 Weekly UpdateAug 2, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsHeroes of Arkesia, All Lost Ark servers and regions will be coming offline on Wednesday, August 3rd at 12 AM PT / 7 AM UTC / 9 AM CEST for our weekly maintenance. Earlier this week (July 29), Smilegate outlined the content roadmap across August and September for Lost Ark. Starting things off in August, the Pet Ranch will be joining as a new way to spend some time in the game. "The Pet Ranch is the perfect place to play, grow, and earn rewards with your pet," reads the roadmap. "Recover your pet’s morale, manage pet functions, and earn Jelly Cookies that can be exchanged for valuable rewards!" Also coming in August are some new activities for the ongoing Maharaka festival. In the upcoming update, you'll be tasked with collecting as many leaves from the Maharaka Tree in Maharaka Paradise as you can, which you can then exchange for mounts, animal skins, and more. Read more August & September RoadmapJul 29, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsHeroes of Arkesia, The July Spells in Spades update released a vast amount of content into Arkesia last week, with the Arcanist Advanced Class, Valtan Inferno Raid, the Maharaka Summer Festival, Challenge Abyssal Raids, new progression events, and more! Despite the flurry of new content, we know players are excited to know what’s arriving in Arkesia over the remaining summer months. In August and September, things will work a little differently. Rather than having a single major update for each month, we’ll be splitting up the changes, updates, and new content into three updates— a smaller content update in August, a quality of life and back-end tech update in early September, and a final major content update near the end of September. The content and updates found below are some of the highlights we know players are looking forward to, and similar to the previous roadmaps, isn’t a comprehensive list of everything releasing in these updates. Downtime is estimated to last up to 4 hours, and this update will include the following fixes and changes: The Jukebox Song “Consolation” has been added for all players to use in their Strongholds! This special song was previously gifted to players across the globe in March as a part of the launch gift to celebrate Lost Ark’s global launch. Now that the Jukebox feature is available in the Western version, we’re excited to share it with all of you, too! Thank you for your continued support of Lost Ark and the world of Arkesia. The Alarm Settings menu has been fixed and will now function as intended. Fixed an issue where the current channel was not displayed in the channel selector. The Arcanist’s Emperor Gem is now obtainable. Updated the text for various Steam achievements to better reflect how they can be obtained. Jukebox soundtracks will now play correctly while using the Korean VO Pack DLC. Gold granted when using a purchased Powerpass will now be subject to the 3-day withholding period before it is usable. Thanks for your patience, and we’ll see you back in Arkesia soon!Lost Ark Academy - Alternate Characters Featuring ATKJul 20, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsHeroes of Arkesia, The Spells in Spades Update brings a new Advanced Class— the Arcanist— along with a variety of new progression events for new and existing players alike. With new alternate characters available to level-up easily with tools like the Punika Powerpass, Hyper Express Event, and more, we thought it would be the perfect time to sit down with the Lost Ark legend ATK and share some tips and tricks with players interested in expanding their roster. With his own stacked roster of over 20 characters, not to mention the skill needed to play them, few know more about managing a roster and making efficient alternate characters than ATK. If you’re interested in learning about the new progression events, you can find specific details in The Spells in Spades Release Notes. Find ATK’s advice on making alternate characters and managing a growing roster below! BENEFITS OF ALTS Before getting into how to pick an alternate character or when he recommended progressing an alt, we started off by asking ATK for his thoughts on some of the benefits of creating alternate characters. TRYING NEW PLAYSTYLES Trying out different classes can help you get better at Lost Ark in general. By experiencing different playstyles, you can better learn about back-attack classes, the different DPS positions and rotations of classes, and better understand how support plays. Knowing how the support/team-buff operates for various classes is also crucial to generally improve performance. MORE GOLD & RESOURCES ATK dives further into some specifics in the Progression section below, but simply put, having multiple characters ready for Legion Raids yields you more Gold. With the recent additions of Legion Commanders Valtan and Vykas, having a Item Level (ilvl) 1430 or 1445 character will get you a significant Gold boost— as a Normal Legion Raid clear grants 2,500, and Hard Mode clear grants 4,500. Up to 6 characters on your roster can earn Gold from weekly activities, called “raw Gold generation”. https://images.ctfassets.net/umhrp0op95v1/2SdQxFWOFYfGysupZG67Tb/1d0ed04c68c4a50d4945c5067a010009/LA_Rewards_Valtan_Raid_1080.jpeg Apart from Gold, alt characters can generate a variety of materials by doing daily Chaos Dungeons, Guardian Raids, and Silver through Una’s Tasks. Una’s Task rewards are character bound, but Silver isn’t! You can also sell many of the materials from Chaos Dungeon and Guardian Raids your alt characters generate, or transfer them to another character on your roster. For example, having a 1370 character can yield you materials from the 1370 Chaos Dungeon, Nightfox Yoho for Great Honor Leapstones and Tier 3 Guardian and Destruction stones. Characters stay in Tier 3 for a long time, so simply having another character in Tier 3 will help you gather various materials to bolster all of your roster’s characters. Unlike gold generation, you can have more than 6 characters that can generate materials, but I always want to advise don’t make too many characters or you ...Lost Ark Spells in Spades patch adds Arcanist, reduces honing costs, and moreJul 20, 2022 - VG247It’s a big day for Lost Ark players, as the Spells in Spades update is going live today! This update brings with it a new advanced class to play, a new summer-themed event, new challenging end game content and a slew of changes to make gearing up a character easier for players. The new class - the Arcanist - is likely the star of the update for those looking for a new character to level or thinking of jumping in for the first time. It’s all about casting powerful magical abilities with a collection of mystical cards, each with their own unique effects. This class comes following the Bard and Sorceress as mage advanced classes, and provides a special twist on the archetype that is sure to appeal to a vast number of Lost Ark players. To help them gear one up, honing costs across the three tiers of content have been streamlined as of this update, making the process of upgrading your equipment far less of a time, money, and resource sink than it previously was. Rather than chasing the normal rewards of gear, honing materials, and everything else you’d receive in a Legion Raid, Inferno rewards instead showcase your victory with titles, achievements, Stronghold structures, and more! A new in-game vendor will be added for players to access a variety of prestigious rewards, earned after various numbers of clears. There are a few key differences between Normal/Hard and Inferno difficulties: ‘Scale of Balance’ is applied, and the raid requires use of the Book of Coordination, so everyone’s gear is normalized against the level of your Legion Commander opponent. The gate progression system will not be active - you can’t make it half-way and come back later in the week. Inferno mode will not count against your weekly attempt limit for Legion Raids, so you can play Valtan on Normal/Hard and Inferno in the same week, and try Inferno as many times as you’d like. Valtan Inferno difficulty will require item level 1445 for players to participate. Players able to vanquish the three gates in the Vykas Legion Raid will be rewarded at each stage with increasingly desirable loot, matching the difficulty of those battles. Clearing each gate will grant Gold, Covetous Fangs and Wings, Relic Accessories and honing materials.
