Euro Truck Simulator 2

Black Sea: RomaniaMay 24, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsSince you already know what our next map expansion will be, it's time to take a closer look at the countries found on the Road to the Black Sea. This time, Romania. Romania is a large (238,397 square kilometres) and wonderful country with a unique spirit and cultural tradition. A reason for this lies in the fact that the country is at the crossroad of Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe. Many different influences met in Romania during its rich history, and marks of these can be seen even today - for example in the number of architectural landmarks. From a driver's point of view, you'll find everything you might desire - high mountains, deep forests, rivers, coastal roads and more! For now, here's a fresh batch of heavily work-in-progress screenshots, but you may look forward to more blog posts about the country's specifics - there's a lot to write about. One example would be the infamous castle which many of you might be interested to see... of the #IDriveDAF! competitionMay 20, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsYou may have noticed that we have recently added a new paint-job scheme into Euro Truck Simulator 2. The Pure Excellence paint-job for the DAF XF Euro 6 truck and trailer is now available in both versions of Euro Truck Simulator 2 (1.34 and the 1.35 Open Beta) as free additional content for every owner of the base game. Here is why! We have been discussing an idea to do a cross-promotional campaign with DAF for a while, and finally, we are ready. We are excited to start a new screenshot competition in cooperation with the wonderful people at DAF trucks! As a lucky coincidence for this week, we are also participating in the Steam Weekly Sale on a large selection of our content; we are throwing in a special DAF Bundle temporarily with an additional discount on the DAF tuning pack. The competition starts today (20.5.2019) and will end on the 3rd of June 2019 at 23:59 UTC, with 5 lucky winners taking home some fantastic prizes. There will also be prizes given for Honorable Mentions. So how can you enter? The conditions are simple: Watch the DAF Trucks video carefully Take an in-game screenshot of your DAF truck (XF 105 or XF Euro 6) at a location similar to that in the video. Post your screenshot and make sure to follow and tag DAF Trucks and SCS Software on Twitter or DAF Trucks and SCS Software on Instagram, plus using the hashtag #IDriveDAF If you want to enter through Facebook, make sure to like the following pages: DAF and Euro Truck Simulator 2. Post your screenshot under the announcement post on both these pages with the hashtag #IDriveDAF Multiple entries are permitted, but each must contain a unique screenshot (on Facebook, you need to post each entry to both the ETS2 and DAF pages). Posting the same screenshot multiple times on Twitter/Instagram will disqualify you from the contest. Cross-posting is allowed. Mods are allowed - as long as they are of DAF content or generic branding. Editing/post-processing of the photo entry is not allowed. What makes this competition unique, is that all 5 winners will receive prizes from e-shops of both DAF Trucks and SCS Software. Take a look at what prizes you could win! DAF miniature truck (large) + SCS hoodie, T-shirt and hat DAF jacket + SCS hoodie and T-shirt DAF travel bag + SCS T-shirt set and hat DAF polo shirt + SCS mug set de Luxe or travel mug set (to be shown in tomorrows stream) and lunchbox DAF miniature truck (small) + SCS bag and lanyard Additionally, on Tuesday the 21st of May, at 15:00 UTC we will be hosting another live stream (on both Twitch and Steam) with Alex (LondonLad), Carthoo and Nemiro live from the SCS Studio! They will be driving DAF trucks, hosting giveaways, talking with you in the chats and much...ETS2 Update 1.35 Open BetaMay 14, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsWith the number of blog posts featuring news from the upcoming update, you could see how big it's probably going to be. And now you can experience it for yourself - in the 1.35 Open Beta! There's hardly a single part of our game that hasn't received a new addition or feature in this update, so let's go through them, starting with map developments. Sardinia is one of two big map additions that 1.35 brings. Most of those who helped us by entering the Experimental Beta were thrilled with how much our map designers were able to squeeze into such a small island. Sardinia is, however, the second biggest island of the Mediterranean, so there's enough room for impressive landscapes and coastal roads. Another huge region that has received a massive overhaul comes as part of our Germany refresh. There are over 2,000 in-game kilometres of new and reconstructed roads, two completely new highways, updated service stations, new landmarks and much more - see our dedicated article! Furthermore, we have added two more roads in France (one in the base game and one in the Vive La France map expansion), an improved sign system in Scandinavia and a number of Special Transport jobs all over the map, including regions within Beyond the Baltic Sea! St. Petersburg to St. Petersburg (Beyond the Baltic Sea) Pori to Helsinki (Beyond the Baltic Sea) Toulouse to Montpellier (Viva la France!) Verona to Parma (Italia) Odense to Hirtshals (Scandinavia) Krakow to Banska Bystrica (Going East!) Plymouth to Dover (base game) Trailers alone would be sufficient content to make a standalone update, but they are also coming to 1.35. The Krone extendable Box Liner, Schwarzmüller trailers (reefer, curtain and log variants), SCS Container and Logging trailers are now ready to become a part of your fleet! You'll also see Schwarzmüller trailers on AI trucks. As in American Truck Simulator, new features include ...Euro Truck Simulator 2 is getting more roads to runMay 10, 2019 - PC GamerEuro Truck Simulator 2 is one of those very niche games that's really only possible on PC, but it's also a genuine hit. Years after its release, thousands of people still play it daily—nearly 19,000 are big-rigging it right now, according to SteamDB—and so developer SCS Software continues to expand its map with more roads to run, places to go, and things to see.  The next addition, Road to the Black Sea, will let players haul their loads through the Transylvanian forests and Carpathian mountains of Romania, the Black Sea coastline of Bulgaria, and the Trakya region of Turkey, the gateway to Istanbul.    "From large cities to small humble villages in the countrysides, truckers will also be able to drive on roads which lead to scenic coastlines alongside the Black Sea," SCS said. "These regions also offer a large variety of industries for players to deliver to and from; including farms, logging companies and the mining industry."  The commitment to games like Euro Truck Simulator 2 can seem odd or amusing on the surface, but it's no joke. Andy Kelly examined the game's appeal in a three-hour Odense-to-Bergen road trip in 2015, and four years later he's still truckin': "Not once in my life have I ever thought about being a truck driver, or really had an interest in them as vehicles," he wrote in an interview with SCS Software earlier this year. "Yet I find the game utterly captivating."  Road to the Black Sea is listed on Steam, but there's currently no release date. The hope, "if everything goes according to plan," is to have it out near the end of 2019.    Euro Truck Simulator 2 heads through Transylvania to the Black Sea nextMay 10, 2019 - Rock, Paper, ShotgunGive it another couple years, and Euro Truck Simulator 2 and its American cousin will have mapped most of the roads of the world. Next on SCS Software’s checklist is the Road To The Black Sea expansion, adding the route to Turkey via Romania and Bulgaria to Euro Truck Sim 2. While a night-time trip through the Carpathian mountains and an overnight stop in Transylvania may sound thrilling, those dwindling profit margins prove that the world is the only vampire that counts. The new roads will be open later this year, and you can take a peek at the scenery in the trailer below. (more…) Road to the Black SeaMay 10, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsWhere do those new roads lead to? It's the question many of you in the community have been speculating over the past few months, and today we are excited to announce our next Euro Truck Simulator 2 map expansion - Road to the Black Sea. We are happy to confirm that this new addition will bring the countries of Romania, Bulgaria, and the European part of Turkey (Thrace) to ETS2. From the small villages found in the countryside, to the large bustling city of Istanbul, these three countries are rich with history, unique architecture and landmarks such as "Dracula's"Castle found in Romania. All of these which you will see on your travels on the road to The Black Sea. Just as impressive as the man-made structures built in these countries are the surrounding natural landscapes. Many of your journeys may lead you through forests, coastal roads or mountain ranges such as the ones found in Transylvania, which create a scenic drive for any traveler. So, when will you able to explore these new roads for yourself? We expect to release this map expansion towards the end of this year. We can't wait to share more with you through upcoming blog posts and on our social media channels. In the meantime, why not add Road to the Black Sea to your Steam Wishlist? of the #OneTruckFamily eventMay 6, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsEverything that has a beginning also has an ending. And so our #OneTruckFamily event campaign, promoting a hashtag started by our friends at FIA ETRC to unite all types of truck drivers, has come to a close, too. A tremendous number of players have lent a hand - with a little bit of imagination - in transporting race trucks throughout Europe; from racing circuits to home bases, from testing circuits to workshops and so on. Thanks to you, the teams are now ready for a new season... and so are we! It's said that a picture is worth a thousand words. How many words is a video worth then? Because we've prepared one - as a memento to all the kilometres you guys and gals have spent on the roads. Chroma gets official supportMay 3, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsWe're happy to announce the upcoming arrival of the official support for Razer Chroma in both American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2. Starting with the 1.35 Update, our games will support Razer keyboards, mouses and RGB mousemats (headset will use only one colour scheme). Sure, you might think what's the big deal about some "game of lights", but take a look at our video and the list of functions below. Adds a little bit extra to the immersion, doesn't it? Everyone is invited!Revisiting Germany Vol. 2Apr 23, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsWith the recent announcement of Sardinia, many from our community thought this would be the biggest addition to come in the 1.35 update. We'd like to contest that claim, as another part of the Germany rebuild is arriving in this update as well! This time, our map design team has been focusing on east and south-east areas of Germany, and they really haven't been holding back! Check out the change list to see for yourself! Over 2000 km in-game kilometers of reconstructed roads. New Autobahns with gentle curves Two completely new Autobahns (A38 and A71) Open landscapes & panoramic views Brand new landmarks. A major rebuild in Nürnberg Typical "Autohof" service stations 18, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsWhen we first teased an image of this location, we received quite a number of accurate guesses from our community, with one person guessing within 2 kilometres of where it was taken. So where exactly are we talking about? We are excited to announce that the island of Sardinia will be added in the upcoming update 1.35 as a free addition for the Italia map expansion for Euro Truck Simulator 2. Sardinia is the second-largest island found in the Mediterranean Sea, which means you'll need to take a ferry to the port of Cagliari from either Napoli or Palermo to get there. On the island, you'll find three new cities - Cagliari, Olbia, and Sassari, where you will find the famous church of Santa Maria of Bethelem, and a number of smaller villages, hidden amongst vineyards and olive-trees. As with most islands, you won't find any highways there, but many smaller rural roads. So if you enjoy a drive on curvy roads with meandering climbs and beautiful coastal views, there's a good chance you will want to relocate your company to this Mediterranean pearl. Stay tuned for more news on what's coming with the 1.35 update! Road ConnectionsApr 15, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsToday we'd like to present another appetizer of the approaching update 1.35. Players of both American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 can look forward to some (a lot, actually) new tarmac! Let's start in America. Newly added OR-58 will connect the cities of Eugene and Bend, and there's much to look at! For some time this road tracks Salt Creek river, which will lead you to the Odell Lake. There, far behind it in the shroud of fog, you'll see the majestic Diamond peak, the highest mountain in the region, while on the other side lays the Willamette pass resort Ski area. Pity there's no time to lose when one's working, right? Next comes the last part of well known and liked OR-140, so you'll be able to drive all the way from Medford to Winnemucca finally! Starting in Klamath Falls, you'll probably notice that the city centre was remade and enlarged. The new road will take you past the great Upper Klamath Lake then and through the deep woods of Fremont-Winema National Forest farther to Medford, Nevada. Last but not least, there's CA-299 offering the option of driving from Redding directly to Canby, Oregon, adding also a little town of Burney along the road. It's a pretty long drive, which has it all - farmlands, meander climbs, junctions, landmarks, mountains canyons, gorges... you name it! In addition to the new roads, there are various changes and additions. With CA-299, Redding received another city part around the junction of Interstate 5 and CA-299, a new garage and a truck dealer. Farmington (New Mexico) got also a new garage, while Yuma has a new garage, a truck dealer and a brand new truck stop. https://4.bp.blogspo...American Truck Simulator: journey's endApr 9, 2019 - Rock, Paper, ShotgunIf there’s one game that has, for me, defined my last few years at RPS, it’s American Truck Simulator. That singular nexus of deadly serious simulation and twinkly-eyed, chill-out road trip has helped hold me together at times when both the world and my own world threatened to fall apart, but it’s also been a belated lesson that games need not be defined by skinner boxes and power fantasies. The magic of the ordinary, but the ordinary transplanted to another place, free from all pressures. Most of all, the peace and freedom of the road. It’s now time for me to say goodbye, to RPS and perhaps to the overall business of writing opinions about videogames. There’s only one way to go out. One last drive. And, thanks to some very kind folks at ATS developer SCS, I get to make that last drive in a work-in-progress build of the forthcoming Washington DLC – the state I’ve long been most desperate to drag 18 wheels across. (more…) New trailers in upcoming ETS2 update 1.35Apr 8, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsAs promised, we are back for Part 2 of Trailer News, and this time we will be sharing what we have been working on for Euro Truck Simulator 2 in 1.35. We are excited to show you many new trailer types and combinations which you will be able to haul in the next update. Similar to other types of trailers that we already have in-game (such as box and cargo trailers), we are excited to be able to bring you a large variety of container trailers. Log trailers have also received an update; which will see the inclusion of a large combination of them that vary in both length and size. Logging trailers will also include the variant from Schwarzmüller, which will be available for purchase. Thanks to recent successful trials in Germany and The Netherlands, you will now be able to use Double Trailers within these countries. We have also received a large number of requests from our community to have the ability to purchase their own Schwarzmüller trailers. We are happy to announce that they will be available for purchase in the Trailer Dealership in this upcoming update. Notice For Our Modding CommunityApr 5, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsDue to the appearance of mods with sets of our World of Trucks event rewards and Steam inventory items - we feel the need to clarify our policy. Seeing countless mods for our games is great and we're happy that so many talented people are investing their time in adjusting, improving or creating new content - but there are limits of what is and isn't fine. Simply copying our content, without making any meaningful changes (and without making the mod DLC dependable in case of DLC content) absolutely isn't. Steam inventory item modifications are not either. These items are meant as, and should stay so, something special that not everyone has, while also being a part of Valve's Steam market. This restriction isn't meant to harm our great modding community, it's strictly to protect the value of said items. Every single one of them has to be obtained as a reward for time invested into our many WoTr events, or eventually purchased or traded from someone who earned them that way. So far we've banned a few of those mods, and some of the authors were warned. From now on, we will take these mods as a direct violation of property rights and we will react accordingly. We've set up a topic for questions about this - if there are any - on our forum. We won't reply on questions regarding this restriction anywhere else.ETS2 TeasingApr 4, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsRecently we released a short video showing A Road To Somewhere New... a first real taste of what major map expansion will be arriving next in Euro Truck Simulator 2. The response we saw from the community was outstanding and many of you started to guess and create speculation of where these new roads are located. Today, we are excited to share a new gallery of more screenshots from these locations. Which countries can be explored? Where will the roads lead? Only time will tell... the FatigueApr 1, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsIt's April Fools' Day today, but we did not want to shock you with some sort of unbelievable story. Instead, we chose to make a little light-hearted video as a tribute to the hard work of our testers and to celebrate the moment of the start of the closed beta for update 1.35. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the fan community and the volunteer tester groups. Have fun with the new content, your help is appreciated! As for the public test, tentatively we plan to start it about a month from now, you can look forward to a series of posts announcing the key new features in the coming weeks. Truck Family EventMar 22, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsLet us invite you to join latest World of Trucks event! The new season of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship (FIA ETRC) is coming. Out in the real world, we plan to be a part of the roadshow again, and we are looking forward to meeting our fans in the flesh again on the racing circuits of the 2019 calendar. We also want to do something cool in our virtual world. Last year, we asked our community to help us deliver racing components in the "Start Your Engines" event. Thousands of participants passed the event requirements and claimed their rightfully earned rewards. Today we’re coming back to you with a new task. Let's imagine such a scenario; before the 2019 season, the teams have a long list of places to go, such as shows and public events to show off their fast and agile beasts. They also need to travel between their home bases, testing circuits, workshops, and any other places where preparations prior to the season can take place. These racing trucks aren't road-legal and we’re going to need your help transporting them to the various destinations! For the duration of the event, we have placed the racing beauties into Euro Truck Simulator 2 as a very special kind of cargo for you, and now they are ready to start their journey. Utilizing a special FIA ETRC trailer carrying the teams' racing trucks, let's show the world that no matter the size, number of axles, engine, type of use or even brand, all trucks can unite when it's needed. This spirit perfectly aligns with the new #OneTruckFamily campaign initiated by the FIA ETRC to unite all types of truck drivers, regardless if on the race track, on the road or in a virtual environment. Hop into your truck and set the course to some of the starting destinations listed below. Don't forget to show off your creative screenshots of this event under the #OneTruckFamily hashtag on your Twitter, Instagram or Facebook profiles! Tag FIA ETRC (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook), our official channels and share your participation with us! Let's take a look at the rules and rewards of this event! Rules Using External Contracts on World of Trucks-connected profile, complete deliveries with all 10 ETRC cargo trailers. Research and pre-production have actually started over half a year before the Beyond the Baltic Sea DLC was released. A huge amount of work is still ahead of us to complete the work, but we think the time has come to start teasing you with the very first visual clue. Don't worry, in a matter of a few weeks, we want to announce the new map DLC officially, and the teasing should turn into regular project progression reveals and updates. There is so much cool new stuff to show you, we are really looking forward to sharing it with you! BirthdayFeb 22, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsThe release of Beyond the Baltic Sea brought five countries to the world of Euro Truck Simulator 2, including Estonia, which celebrates its 101st birthday on February 24th. To mark this special occasion, we have updated the Estonian Paint Jobs Pack for ETS2 with an additional national truck cabin design to wear with pride when driving across Europe. For existing owners of this paint job pack, this special design will come as a free update to your garage. Happy Birthday Estonia! 🇪🇪
