EBF5 Mods and Hidden Cats & DogsNov 5, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsHey guys, my new game Hidden Cats & Dogs is coming along nicely - it's even got a Steam store page already, and it would be super cool if you guys added it to your wishlists, as this helps boost it in the Steam store. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/5696681/195200cc2664f1c75a8eb09b9cf1d237d05a83c9.gif The game is around a year away from release, so there's a lot of work left to do, but I'll try to have a demo out in the next few months. As it's Autumn, I've been working on spooky-themed levels recently. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/2942841b2d07e5bf4646350f066671be0a8eea57.png Hidden Cats & Dogs features... Thousands of items to find, and 20+ hours of gameplay. 3 difficulty modes, with different goals in each, allowing for multiple playthroughs. Spot-the-difference challenges, and other secret game modes. Diverse areas including ancient Egypt, volcanic islands, European forests and castles, arctic tundra, fantasy jungles, and many more. Occasional dark humour. (which can be disabled for a family-friendly experience) 100% DRM-free, so you can make a copy for your grandma. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/5696681/5a10aea7f712239b173951f44b851f06c18520de.gif Meanwhile, if you head over to the EBF Discord, you'll find that there's been a lot of progress on several EBF5 mods. Recently people have started modding monsters from earlier EBF games into EBF5. Some of the mods are already playable, and you can get the patch files in the Discord. When they're a bit more complete, I'll make them easier to install using the Steam betas tab. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/2284088c7ceda88d0a965dbc2a224762ea8d4f74.pngEBF Collection Fan-Art Competition!May 7, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsHey guys. It’s been nearly a year since EBF Collection launched on Steam, and we're celebrating with a fanart contest! To participate in the contest, you can create new fanart of my old games, specifically any of the eight featured in the EBF Collection. These are: Mecha Dress Up Game, Brawl Royale, The Kitten Game, Epic Battle Fantasy 1 and 2, Bullet Heaven, Adventure Story, and Cat Cafe. Make sure to post your final submission in the #contest channel on the EBF Discord Server alongside the contest tag, the name of the art piece, your name/nickname, and a link to your art page. The contest tag is "Collection-Contest-Entry", so just include that in the comment with your submission, so we can find it more easily. The deadline is Tuesday May 30th at 10PM BST. You can make as many entries as you’d like, but all art must be new, still images (no animations please), your own work, and PG-13 (bonus points for avoiding copyrighted material - we'd prefer if you used the updated characters from the Steam version). The EBF wiki is a good source of references, if you want images and information about characters and enemies. There is a total of £500 (~$620) to be split between the top entries, as well as Steam or mobile keys to any existing Epic Battle Fantasy games. Cash prizes will be awarded by PayPal or bank transfer. Entries will be judged by me and Ronja (and maybe some others), and winners will be announced within a couple weeks after the deadline. Let me or Ronja know if you have any questions. (we're easiest to contact on Discord!) --- In other news, we're still working on Hidden Cats - the game is around 30% finished. We've got a few playable levels done, but have many more to go. Even though it’s mostly a suitable-for-everyone game, there will be a lot of dark Easter Eggs to find – but these can be turned off in the options if they are not to your taste. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/2546d768da2b2129ccf9fec5e49d380ba1c54cba.jpgMods, Ports, and Hidden Cats.Feb 28, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsHey guys, I recently created some new item icons for modders to use in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. If you want to learn more about mods and try some out, check out the EBF Discord. EBF5 can be modded using decompiling tools, and a patcher can be used to modify your EBF5 installation. Currently the largest mod being worked on is called Tough Love, and it has new status effects, equips, player skills, and more intelligent and powerful enemies. At some point I will make it a beta branch of the game on Steam, to make it easier to install. But until then, you can try it out yourself using the resources on the EBF Discord. The community there is still quite active, and we also do fanart competitions with prizes a few times a year. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/9701d75821a88238e21703f1e15082315cb212a7.png In more EBF5 news, the iOS and Android ports of EBF5 are both complete - they don't offer any new content over the PC version of the game, but if you have any friends who haven't played it yet, this is a great place for them to start. The mobile version has a lot of free content - like the web version did before Flashplayer was killed - and only the optional dungeons and extra game modes are behind a paywall. In related news, Ruffle, a Flashplayer emulator, has made a lot of progress in the last year. It's getting close to being able to run EBF5, and can already run many simpler Flash games. What I'd love to do is eventually use Ruffle to run the Steam version of EBF5, which will lead to much better performance, especially on higher resolutions. This would also give me a good reason to consider updating the game in other ways too. Finally, I've been working hard on Hidden Cats, my new hidden object game. I'd say it's around 20% finished - I've started on the coding, and some simple test levels almost work. Here's an example of what a medium-sized level would look like: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/9c52b64b9c45d826d367941373995f1a0040cf5c.png And let's zoom in a bit on a smaller scene: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/c7b834459913121479fdc3a0a3c699cb4328cc21.png The goal of the game is just to find objects, obviously, but I'm trying to make it more interactive than some similar games. You can look inside buildings, use keys to open chests and other containers, push items out of the way, smash clay pots, etc. It's a bit more casual than my other games, but it'll be something cute that anyone can play, and will have a ton of content, so hopefully it will still appeal to many of you. Anyway, that's all. Hope you're all having a good 2023 so far.New Game and Price UpdatesNov 11, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsHey guys, I've got two pieces of news for ya'll. First of all, I'm working on a new game - it's a hidden-object game codenamed "Hidden Cats". It's still early in development, but I'm having a lot of fun working on it. And I think you'll enjoy it if you're into relaxing games with cute art. It's loosely tied into the Epic Battle Fantasy universe too. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/15efe35b70a8e80306a0198c888ab48497c0b1ad.png The second news is that I’ve been thinking of increasing the prices of my games in line with inflation… Since Epic Battle Fantasy 4 and Bullet Heaven 2 came out on Steam in 2014 and 2015, the US Dollar and British Pound have dropped in value by around 25% due to inflation. Epic Battle Fantasy 5 came out in 2018, and there the difference is around 20%. Since these games are still getting customer support and occasional updates, I think it’s fair to raise the prices from $12 to $15, and from $20 to $25. Most of you already own the games, so this won’t really effect very many of you who are reading this. And if you don’t own the games yet, the games are on sale 4 times a year, if you’re looking for a bargain. Epic Battle Fantasy 4 got a “version 2” update not too long ago, and I still regularly clean the Bullet Heaven 2 leaderboards. The Epic Battle Fantasy 5 Android port is finished, and work on the iOS port has begun. So all three games are still getting some attention from me. I’ve also noticed that some regions aren’t happy with Steam’s new regional pricing, so I’ll make sure that Turkey and Argentina, for example, are not effected too drastically by this price update. Steam’s new pricing tool makes it easier to compare the new and old prices, so I’d like to avoid any unreasonably big changes. Anyway, I’m aiming to update the prices in January, after the Christmas sale on Steam. So the Christmas sale will be the lowest price you’ll see for a while! Let me know how you feel about all of this.EBF Collection Launches May 30th!May 16, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsHey guys, the Epic Battle Fantasy Collection will launch at the end of this month - on Monday, May 30th! Please wishlist the game to get a notification, and boost it in the Steam algorithm! The EBF Collection will cost $8 and include EBF1, EBF2, Bullet Heaven, Adventure Story, Brawl Royale, Mecha Dress Up, The Kitten Game, Cat Cafe, and a bunch of prototype games and artwork, and 150 Steam achievements! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/e51bf1ca9876f96ec97bd929f21c112e7be78f29.png All of the games have been updated with quality-of-life features, such as volume controls, new difficulty options, and other cool stuff. Adventure Story has a bunch of new levels, Bullet Heaven has new playable characters, and Epic Battle Fantasy 2 has new unlockable upgrades! On top of all that, the 65-track soundtrack is included as a free DLC download! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/22e16d1cec2b3c9d156b03aa218b039d05536211.pngEpic Battle Fantasy Collection - Coming Soon!Apr 19, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsHey guys, the Steam store page for the Epic Battle Fantasy Collection is up – you should wishlist the game so you’ll be notified when it launches! I still need to make a trailer, fix some minor bugs, and set up the soundtrack DLC (which will be free). There’s not very much work left to do, but it’s very boring stuff, so I’m taking my time with it. Plus all of the games have been updated with quality-of-life features, such as volume controls, new difficulty options, and other cool stuff. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/4be21e08154cccbe36c66111ada9331fe2073e8f.pngChristmas Key Giveaway 2021Dec 17, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsHey guys, as is the tradition, I’m giving out 20 Steam Keys for Epic Battle Fantasy 5 this Christmas. I assume that many people following this news already own the game, but it could also make a good present for a friend of yours. For a chance to win, leave a comment on my website about what you’ll be doing this Christmas, and make sure to fill in the email field, which will only be used for sending you a key if you win. Here's the link: http://kupogames.com/2021/12/17/christmas-key-giveaway-2021/ I’ll be giving out the keys on the 23rd of December, so you have until then to enter. If you would rather receive keys for Epic Battle Fantasy 4 or Bullet Heaven 2 instead of EBF5, please let me know in your comment. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/1748ca51ad291eeadb56f88c21a1744fdf243e5e.png Tough Love Mod ProgressAug 16, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsHey guys. About a year ago I made an announcement about an EBF5 mod, and since then people have been asking me if it's finished yet. Well, the mod isn't finished, but it has grown in scope since then, so there's a lot more content than originally planned. The mod is being made by EBF fan Feit-Neo (also known as LightningLaser), with some new icons being made by me. It features many new status effects, new enemy behaviour, 4 new weapons for each character, some new skills, new weather conditions, and more. Here's a preview of some of the weapons... {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/927822426458fa264f862e1489feac391761b833.png And here's a list of the new status effects. Many of these are exclusively used by enemies as they would be overpowered if the player had access to them... but maybe some rare summons and weapons could trigger them... {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/8efb5037a3ca3b141d5d54af89294e17a5c1e175.png It’s not finished yet, but you can try out the mod using the patch files found in the #ebf-mod-archive channel on the EBF Discord. And you can chat about Mods in the #ebf-mod-discussion channel. Alternatively, you can wait until the mod is finished, as it’ll be distributed as a Beta Branch of EBF5 on Steam, which would make it very easy to opt-into and install. It's also not the only mod being worked on. There's another one called Tried and Tempered that makes the game much harder, but it's still quite early on in development. You can also try that one using a patch from the EBF Discord. --- In other news, the EBF5 mobile port for Android is almost done - I've got a few people testing it, and it mostly works smoothly. iOS is also planned a while afterwards. That's the main thing I'm working on at the moment. EBF5 Mods and PortsJul 10, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsHey guys, Epic Battle Fantasy fan LightningLaser is working on a game mod that makes EBF5 more challenging. So far he's improved enemy AI and given them more varied attacks, added some new status effects, made some of the enemy skills usable by the players, and is adding weapons from previous EBF games to EBF5. Here's a video showing off some of the changes. (it's a bit out of date now) I've been helping out a bit by making some new icons, since he's just a programmer. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/b2cd4016668d0bba4d29395d4411ef91fd4896e0.png When the mod is complete, it will be available to you guys through the Steam Beta branches feature, and should be compatible with existing saved games. We're not in a hurry to release it though, so it may still take some time. At the moment, EBF5 is only being modded through the use of decompilers, which is not ideal. Eventually I plan to release the entire source code to make the process a bit easier. But there's not many people still hanging around who work with Flash, so don't expect a huge surge of mods! If you want to chat with the modding community, check out the modding channel on the EBF Discord server. In other news, I'm slowly working on a mobile port of EBF5. The game already runs on mobile devices, it's just a bit laggy, so I need to optimize things until it runs reasonably well. I'm starting off with Android first, and if that goes well, moving onto iOS later. I don't really know what I'm doing when it comes to mobile development, so I'm not making any promises yet, but it's quite likely that you'll need a fairly powerful device to run the game. I think that covers everything. I hope you're all staying safe! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/38cfd7ab7fd86039c09ed8133e4fd075aad903ff.pngSoundtrack changes and Bug FixesMar 3, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsHey guys, I've created a new beta branch of EBF5 - this is mostly to fix some very small bugs and typos. The only substantial changes are that NoLegs can now use Art Attack, and bosses have some resistance to HP debuffs from Scorch. This version will soon be live for everyone. You can opt-in early by going to Steam client -> EBF5 properties -> betas tab -> v2.1, the main menu should say "version 2.1.2" if done correctly. In related news, I’ve made some changes to the Epic Battle Fantasy soundtracks. Soundtracks used to be DLC, but now they are their own type of content, with the main difference being that they no longer require the base game to be owned. If you already own them, you may need to go to the soundtrack’s Steam store page and download them again. With that in mind, I’ve increased the price of the EBF5 soundtrack from $5 to $10, and the BH2 soundtrack from Free to $10. The EBF3 and EBF4 soundtracks will continue to be free. The price changes are mainly to stop people getting the soundtracks for incredibly cheap, without needing to buy the games first. I’ve also added two new bundles – EBF5 with the soundtrack, and BH2 with the soundtrack – so you get 20% off if you buy a game with the soundtrack, and this will combine with seasonal sales. Here’s some other changes: • The EBF5 soundtrack now includes 3 new songs that were added to the game after the original launch. • Lots of metadata has been updated – some tracks weren’t numbered correctly, mentions of HalcyonicFalconX have been updated to Phyrnna. • Some EBF3 tracks weren’t in 320kbps, now all of them are. • The track “zomg Victory” was removed from the EBF4 soundtrack, because it’s a duplicate from the EBF3 soundtrack. If anyone feels scammed by these changes, please get in contact with me and I’ll sort it out! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/55f3d10dea2bb0955aefc80a014d496e67574a3b.pngHuge Version 2 update is live!Feb 15, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsEBF5 V2 is now live for everyone on Steam, and the base price of the game will go up whenever Valve approves it. So it’s your last chance to buy it for $15! The game should update automatically whenever you restart Steam, and once that's done it should say v2.1.1 on the main menu. Here’s a spoiler-free summary of what’s new: • 52 “new” foes, with a large portion of them being bosses or mini bosses. • 31 new achievements. • 16 new Flair equips, 12 new skills and 2 new limit breaks. • 50 new monster cards – a new item type. • A new biome, 3 new dungeons, and many secret areas. • Significant balancing and quality of life changes. • A “Cheats and Challenges” menu that lets you customize the difficulty to a massive degree. • A “Custom Quest” menu that lets you start a new game with major changes – such as playing with only one character, a new set of equip stats, different foes in each battle, etc. • More art in the gallery! You can continue from your existing save file, but I recommend starting from the beginning for the best experience. (maybe with some Custom Game or Challenge options enabled, to spice things up) The soundtrack has not been updated yet - that's on our to-do list. The price for that will also go up, and we'll change it from a DLC to soundtrack. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/9c29bc729d5724bd2a26efbd441b3dd45967ed42.jpg EBF5 v2 launching soon!Feb 6, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsHey guys, the big EBF5 version 2 update is going to go live for everyone on Steam on Saturday the 15th. I’m announcing this early because the price of EBF5 is going to go from $15 to $20, so consider this your last chance to buy it at the old price! The current opt-in version, which I just updated, is pretty much finished (v2.0.0, no BETA label on the main menu), but I might still make some minor balancing tweaks before the final launch. Either way, it’s time to get it shipped! And if you don’t want to wait, you might as well play it now. (to opt-in, go to the game’s properties in the Steam client, and select v2.0 in the betas tab) Here’s a spoiler-free summary of what’s new: • 52 “new” foes, with a large portion of them being bosses or mini bosses. (maybe on a custom game mode!) {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/393a6ee2001f8bbb9a15233d236f3c85bf01e37c.jpgVersion 2.0.6 is upDec 19, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsIf you're opted into the beta, this should be an automatic update the next time you start Steam. If you want to check out the beta, you can opt in by going to Steam Client -> Epic Battle Fanasty 5 -> Properties -> Betas -> Version 2.0 Russian, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese languages are almost finished now, but the other languages are still a work in progress. If you haven't heard about the massive Version 2.0 update, here's an earlier post that explains some of the new content. Finally, here's a list of the bugs that have been (hopefully) fixed in 2.0.6. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/d7489301faea87585eef295a43decd30dae83b76.jpgEBF5 v2.0 Beta is live!Nov 30, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsHi Folks, The EBF5v2.0 Steam Beta is now live! For a spoiler free summary of all the new content and features you can check out this earlier announcement. You are more than welcome to stream and make videos of the v2.0 content, but please do not spoil anything in the titles, thumbnails or video descriptions until the beta is over! Here's how to take part in the beta: From your Steam library, right click on Epic Battle Fantasy 5, select Properties, go to the Betas tab, and from the drop down menu select v2.0. You may need to update and/or restart Steam first. Once the update is downloaded and you start the game you’ll want to make sure you’re on the right version by checking that the main menu says “Deluxe version 2.0.3 BETA BUILD”. Your old saves should be compatible with the update, but you should make sure to have backups in case there are any problems. At this time the update is in English only, and we’ll hopefully have the other languages ready in about a month or so. To report any bugs you find please head on over to the EBF Discord channel and post them into #ebf5_bug_reports. Please include as much information as possible such as a description of what happened and screenshots. For the most part it should (fingers crossed) be quite stable since we’ve already done a round of testing and weeded out a bunch of bugs. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/267deae8450c044e59fa7ebc7fb6be9c190f2fd2.pngEpic Battle Fantasy 5 "version 2" Beta - coming soon!Nov 13, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsHey guys, a big update to EBF5 is coming at the end of this month! You'll have the option to opt-into the beta of EBF5 "version 2". The beta should be quite stable (but maybe a bit unbalanced), and it will be English-only, with other languages coming later. If you want to wait for the 100% finished version, that'll probably be ready in January. Here's a spoiler-free summary of what's new: • 52 "new" foes, with a large portion of them being bosses or mini bosses. • 31 new achievements. • 16 new Flair equips, 12 new skills and 2 new limit breaks. • 50 new monster cards - a new item type. • A new biome, 3 new dungeons, and many secret areas. • Significant balancing and quality of life changes. • A "Cheats and Challenges" menu that lets you customize the difficulty to a massive degree. • A "Custom Quest" menu that lets you start a new game with major changes - such as playing with only one character, a new set of equip stats, different foes in each battle, etc. You can continue playing from your old save, or start from the beginning. Here's a 3 hour livestream of me testing the game, and showing off some of the new options. Keep an eye on my YouTube channel - I should have a version 2 trailer up soon! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33394290/2ec84a6c6efcf6ee5b7fb405c30b8a329c475e19.png Version 2 - Progress ReportAug 22, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsHey guys, the big "Version 2" update for Epic Battle Fantasy 5 is about 50% done! That sounds like it's taking a long time, but I've not been working on it full-time until recently, so it should progress quite quickly from now on. Here's a progress report of what's already confirmed for the update... • 52 "new" foes, with 24 of them being bosses or mini-bosses. I say "new" because about half of them are returning from previous EBF games. All of them will be catch-able. • 31 new achievements. They're of similar difficulty to what's already in the game - nothing crazy is being added, and you won't have to start from the beginning if you don't want to. • 16 new Flair equips, many of which have completely new types of effects. There's also a lot of references to popular browser games in there. • 14 new skills, including 2 limit breaks. Like other skills, these will be learned from NPCs and can be used by different players. • 50 monster cards to collect. These are a new type of one-of-a-kind item that give you small perks, and are found in hard-to-reach treasure chests. • A new biome, 3 new dungeons, and a bunch of secret areas. These areas are quite small, but they've got some unique battle gimmicks. For example, in the Battle Arena, you can only use one player in battle. Most of the new battles will be unique and challenging, with very few of them being "filler" battles. • A "Cheats and Challenges" menu, which adds 30 options for customizing the game difficulty. You can mess around with overpowered players, make the foes unbeatable, or come up with some mix of the two. These can be changed at any time. • A "Custom Quest" menu, which will allow you to start a new game with some major changes. Some options include: Randomized equipment locations, alternative weather, and alternative foes in filler battles. https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/33394290/a43c1da11b5046d65d045641451a4ee9a1095c21.png Of course I'll also be making some balancing and quality-of-life changes. But I haven't started on those yet, and I'm not making any promises about the details. Old saved games will be completely compatible with the updated version, but I recommend playing from the beginning for the best experience. A lot of the new stuff will be hidden earlier on in the game, and the Cheats, Challenges and Custom Quest settings will make a second playthrough much more interesting. Steam users who own EBF5 will be able to opt-in to the Version 2 beta when it is around 90% complete, and my Patreon supporters will have access to it a bit earlier. If you want more information and previews, you can browse the posts on my website, but they contain a lot of spoilers! If you've enjoyed EBF5 so far, please leave a Steam review - and if you didn't, please let me know, so that maybe I can fix it in the update. And finally, I'll be raising the price of the game to $20 once the update is released. That is all. EBF Art and Music competition!Apr 12, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsHey guys. Me and Tom Fulp from Newgrounds.com have teamed up to do a fanart and music remix competition! As you should know, NG is where the EBF series started, a very long time ago. Here’s Tom’s post about the competition: — May 1st is the 10 Year Anniversary of Epic Battle Fantasy on Newgrounds and Epic Battle Fantasy 5 recently released on Steam. To celebrate the occasion, we’re hosting a fan art and music remix contest here on NG! To participate in the art contest, create Epic Battle Fantasy fan art, tag it with “Epic-Battle-Fantasy” and upload it to the Newgrounds Art Portal by May 1st. To participate in the music contest, remix any of the songs from the Epic Battle Fantasy series 2-5 (when Phyrnna was making the music), tag it “Epic-Battle-Fantasy” and upload it to the Audio Portal by May 1st. Entries will be judged by Matt, Phyrnna, Ronja, and the NG office. The ten best fan arts and three best music remixes will receive Steam keys (Windows only) for EBF5, EBF4, Bullet Heaven 2 and the EBF5 soundtrack. — Tom doesn’t mention it in his post, but generally in contests like this you have to make art/music specifically for the contest – otherwise we’d have hundreds of submissions from earlier! So please don’t enter anything made before today! You can read the original post here. In other news, I'm slowly getting back to work on EBF5, and I've recently posted some more new enemies on my website. https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/33394290/ca4522daaaac7e7e0e005f01048cda682e599519.jpgWorking on EBF5 v2Feb 16, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsHey guys. I'm working on new dungeons and content for Epic Battle Fantasy 5, which is what I promised to do if the game's launch was successful. It's a big update, so it's not going to be finished any time soon. Until then, you can follow updates on my website. There's already a few new enemies shown there. I haven't planned everything out yet, but it's likely the update will include 3 new dungeons, lots of bosses/minibosses, new flairs, and challenge modes. In related news, I'm doing a foe design competition for EBF5! I'm looking for pixel art monster designs which I may use in the game, so you should check it out if that sounds interesting. Here are the details. https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/33394290/bdf4a3eb7b1745809d5dba63b404e548c04cb9d3.pngEBF5 version 1.5!Jan 16, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsHey guys, version 1.5 is available now. To opt-in, go to Steam Client > EBF5 > right-click > Properties > Betas > Select the other version. I’ll set this live for everyone in a few days if no problems are found. Here’s a list of changes: • Added the Chinese New Year holiday quest, which includes 2 new equips and a new skill. (available 18th of Jan) • Nerfed the Cosmic Gigalith. It no longer does damage when killed, and it has less HP if you save after beating it. • Buffed the Evil Players, by making cheap tactics less effective against them. • Added a new music track, used in the 1st and 4th dungeons. • Reduced foe stat growth after level 36, so players are not punished for grinding at the end of the game. • Fixed a bunch of minor bugs, translation errors, and made some minor balancing changes, like buffing Snow Cats. • Someone pointed out that the audio was set to mono rather than stereo, so let me know if it sounds any better now. This might be the last update for a few months. But I’ve got a lot of new content planned for later!EBF5 version 1.4!Dec 16, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsEBF5 has been updated to version 1.4! At the moment you have to opt-in to get it - I'll set it live for everyone in a couple of days. This update is mostly minor bug fixes and behind-the-scenes stuff: • A change I made in v1.2 made the game run slightly slower, so that should be fixed now. • The saving system no longer uses Flash files now, so people should no longer see the Flash player pop-ups. (Let me know if you do, you may need to delete the old files manually.) • Cloud saving between different machines should be more reliable now. • More translation mistakes fixed. To get the new version, go to Steam Client > EBF5 > Properties > Betas > And opt into the beta version. You should see "v1.4" on the title screen once the game updates. Since I changed the saving system, I want to be 100% sure that there's no problems before I make the change live for everyone. If you want to be safe, make a back-up save file before you update!
