The game is not at the state the previous version was and is still buggy and missing a lot of features that were once there, but if you'd like to opt-in and try out the new engine with some of the new included features (such as Steam Workshop Integration, Multiplayer, and Steam Achievements). How do I activate these new updates? To enable the beta branch updates, you must right-click on Cranium Conundrum in your games list in Steam.
