Status Update #1 - Learn about the remastered version | New Betty Lake Reveal!Apr 8, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsHello Everyone, it is time to drop some light on how the works over the “rework” are going! What did we achieve, what we would like to achieve and what things we are struggling with 🙂 So what does the “remaster” mean at all? What is it? What you can expect? To be honest, it is a really complex matter that we divided into a few sectors but first things first. By the remaster, we mean that the whole game, especially the background code, scripts, and assets will get an overhaul while keeping the core gameplay mechanic in its current form (maybe besides cringe reel drag that is not working properly). As we are still a small team (currently 4 people), we divided the whole process into phases, which I can publicly reveal to you. Phase 1 - converting the project to the newest Unity HDRP LTS. Implementation of the new water system. New skybox. Phase 2 - redoing VR so it works properly on the new Unity version (this one will need a LOT of testing) Phase 3 - reworking all base game maps Phase 4 - reworking all DLC maps Phase 5 - replace all fish models from old to new ones Phase 6 - adjustments in gameplay mechanics, improvements in UI/UX, re-doing lures & baits logic (to be more user friendly), improvements in SFX. Phase 7 - re-working game networking and adding full multiplayer support so you can see other players. … and more but I don’t want to reveal it right now as some things/features are not 100% confirmed, so I don’t want to promise anything. As you can see it is a LOT of work but so far I have to admit we are doing pretty well. We already finished Phase 1 but during our internal testing, we have some mixed feelings about new water & underwater visuals so this one can still change to another solution. Phase 2 was already done, and tested on our internal VR headsets but it is a really important part of the game. We haven’t improved the input and visuals yet but right now it is fully functional and playable on Unity HDRP. That is why we will release the VR remaster (and other features) in an open playtest. You can sign for them already here: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/28151491/c2845f63598499057734907cda03d0626db23f21.png Phase 3 is giving us a lot of struggles, and there are a few reasons for that. We want to keep the original shape of the maps where we can, improve visuals as much as we can, and most of everything - keep performance at a level, where everyone will be able to play as the old version. For maps, we had planned to “refresh” most of them but it seems we will finish by re-doing 80% of them from scratches in Phase 3 :) One of the maps where we just did visual improvements, small terrain changes, etc. is Betty Lake. Welcome to remastered Betty Lake! Don’t think that we only did Betty Lake! We already finished over half of the maps from Phase 3 and we will regularly show you videos from Before/After and we will be more than happy to read your feedback. The biggest change in all maps is that right now we are using real-life heightmaps for terrain and...Game Update | 2.3.24.02:141Feb 14, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsChangelog: Fixed problem with disappearing fish in Level Editor mapsGame Update | 2.3.24.02:31Feb 4, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsChangelog: Fixed Vundu catfish on the Kariba Dam map (the bug only occurred in the French language). There will be many small changes and many BIG ones. And today it's time to reveal the big thing officially. Ultimate Fishing Simulator will be remastered! The new version will be available as a FREE UPDATE for everyone! You probably wonder - what does that mean? So here is the short answer! We will update the game for one of the newest Unity with HDRP support. All in-game maps will be REDONE from scratches, all in-game graphics will be updated, and here is the "general" list for remaster: Game Rework | Basic (FREE) Upgrade to the Unity HDRP 2022 LTS New water system New weather system All base game maps redesign New water physics Full VR rework UI improvements Controller improvements LWR 3.0 + randomizer for all fish in the game Gameplay mechanics improvements Game Rework | DLC (FREE) All DLC maps redesign And this is just the beginning. We are already working on the map re-design and we can share today with you the first pictures of Betty Lake: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/28151491/21cae9aa69560b9df954f701857973969d3d90fd.jpg {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/28151491/6897ead46e5086bf00e649bad77dc4388d42ef7d.jpg And yes, VR rework - means we are doing IT from scratch. The whole VR will be redone to make this a true "fishing" experience in VR. Do you think that is big news? So here is the true bomb. FULL MULTIPLAYER SUPPORT will be added in 2025 as a FREE UPDATE. Yes, that is right. There are many things in our schedule so it will be better to show you the ROADMAP for 2024-2025. Some things we can't reveal yet (TBA) but you can expect MORE MAPS, MORE FISH, and bigger challenges. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/28151491/f3324b2690473231c092001248d2bcb893da536b.png WELCOME ULTIMATE FISHING SIMULATOR VR (app) owners! As some of you may noticed (or did not) since January 19th, 2024 - Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR & VR DLCs are NO LONGER available in the Steam store. Everyone - who owned a UFS VR (app) or VR DLCs - received the same content in Ultimate Fishing Simulator (app) and all owned DLCs. The VR app will be no longer updated (besides the last patch) and is officially EOL & EOS (end-of-life, end-of-support). The reason for that as we said in the previous announcement is in general to UNITE everyone, so finally NON-VR players can play with VR players - faster updates, easier support, and so on. So here is a short sum-up of how it worked. IF YOU HAD THIS > YOU GET THIS: Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR > Ultimate Fishing Simulator + VR DLC Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR: Moraine Lake DLC > Ultimate Fishing Simulator: Moraine Lake DLC Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR: Kariba Dam DLC > Ultimate Fishing Simulator: Kariba Dam DLC ...and so on! :) But what with your saves and progress in Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR? Game Update | 2.3.24.01:630Jan 7, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsChangelog: Implementation of the new LWR 3.0 for all Florida fish*: Atlantic goliath grouper Atlantic tarpon Black drum Black sea bass Blackfin tuna Blacktip shark Gray snapper Little tunny Red drum Spinner shark Tiger shark Blue Marlin Mahi-Mahi Yellowfin Tuna Fixed Blue Marlin not biting (circling the lure/bait) Fixed Atlantic Tarpon not biting (circling the lure/bait) Fixed Aquarium UI missed text Fixed Boat colliders Big Tiger sharks show on the water's surface instead of in the hands Length-Weight Relationship 3.0 (LWR) Hello everyone, as you can read above we just implemented a new LWR for Florida fish species that is as true to real life as possible. We received a lot of information regarding fish not having proper weight or length, or their look (scale) not being properly related to other weights. So we took a little investigation into the system, tested a few different things, how the scale works, and created a few kaiju-sized monsters... {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/28151491/1eddd2ef96b16fe8e391623d76465c747492baae.png In the end, we discovered that some additional factors influenced the fish scale and weight. After a short discussion, we decided to make huge modifications to this system, and right now each fish in Florida has an individual correlation to length and weight. That means each fish from Florida right now has a different mass gain in kilograms per centimeter . Moving further, we all know that if in real life you catch 10 fish and hypothetically each of them is 60 cm in length, each one of them would have a different weight. So, we also implemented this in LWR 3.0. That means every fish in specific weight can vary in weight in range from 0.9 to 1.05. To show that more in numbers, let's give you an example. Blacksea Bass | Length 30 cm | Randomizer: Off The LWR 3.0 will tell us that the weight for 30cm Blacksea Bass should be 0.52 kg. And here comes the randomizer. Who likes to catch 30cm fish, with 0.52kg weight whole the time? Randomizer allows to generation of fish that are wary in weight. Blacksea Bass | Length 30 cm | Randomizer: ON Fish weight range: 0,468 - 0.546 kg The bigger the fish, the wider "range" will be. But you get the point I hope! Is this available for all fish? If NO. why? This is now only available for fish listed in the changelog. It's due to a lot of data that we need to prepare and count. For Florida, we simply created the LWR charts but the game didn't calculate it properly which caused so many issues with Tiger Shark. But - don't worry. We will implement this system to all 136 fish species in the Ultimate Fishing Simulator. Once again, we would like to thank you for your feedback, support, and time to tell us what is in your opinion not working properly. Sometimes fixes are easy and sometimes we need to dig deep and do proper research but in the end - we hope you are happy with the final results. Ah, also - in terms of "scale". While researching it we found that there are a few other things in the game "out of ...Game Update | 2.3.24.01:032Jan 3, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsChangelog Updated LWR for Florida fish species to reflect fish weight properly Changes in fish spawns (to cover more areas) Fort optimization Ports optimization Performance optimization Fixed Blacktip shark missing in lodge Fixed lionfish in the lodge Fixed aquarium fish statistics Fixed gray snapper in the encyclopediaGame Update | 2.3.23.12:281Dec 28, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsFixed Blue Marlin black screen; Fixed Red Lionfish Trophy Lodge description; Fixed Red Lionfish encyclopedia icon; Blue Marlin trophy lodge distance extended; Tiger Shark trophy lodge distance extended; Thank you for sending so many logs regarding the black screen. We would like to tell you that BIG fish have a LOW chance of spawning close to the shore / starting location. If you would like to go on a "hunt" you need to take a boat :) Here is the current spawn-point "legend": {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/28151491/dba6fa8c72764fc05d6f3dea76c5ca4075587964.png Here you can see how many spawn zones are currently in Florida: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/28151491/4365b38223d765e7f73d61d481e50d782ef945b5.png And for comparison here, you can see Betty Lake: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/28151491/a15e3a5527da53530c3fca1aeede27df5e6f15f9.png The reason why Florida feels so empty is simple - the map is huge. I mean, literally, it's the biggest map in the game - over 50x bigger than Betty Lake. So if we would put the same amount of fish on Florida that is on Betty Lake or any other map, even Pinas Bay Ocean - it would feel EMPTY. Here is a small comparison. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/28151491/f3f862afb5eea19e56821aae4ac8d29b61618684.png BUT WHY WON'T YOU DEVELOPERS JUST ADD MILLIONS OF FISH? It would just kill game performance at this stage. Ultimate Fishing Simulator is a pretty old game, done on Unity 2017 - and updating the game on this version is just a developer nightmare (hands up - who can confirm). So with this in mind we need to find the BEST possible situation for you - Players. Waters need to feel populated, just full of life, and at the same time - run well on low-end PCs, etc. So it's a really hard task but we won't say "Yeah Guys, nothing happened". We made a lot of mess with this one, but from good thing is - that we had a few "night runs" and we developed for example new spawn system for Florida, which can be used on other maps :) So what's next? We are here for you. We will continue reading your feedback, especially regarding Florida so this map can reveal its full potential (RIP tic-tac multiplayer -.-). So if you have any thoughts, tips, feedback, bug reports, or just want to drop your angry, mad message - just ...Game Update | 2.3.23.12:251Dec 25, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsAdd more spawn points for: Yellowfin tuna, Blackfin tuna, Mahi-mahi Fixed the "pause" menu issue for 3 languages: French, Polish, and Russian Fixed gray snapper not showing on baits/lures descriptionGame Update | 2.3.23.12:241Dec 24, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsChangelog: Added missing lures support (ex. Sakura lures); Added more fish that can be attracted by Dragonfly, Fly, Maggot, Red Worm, Wax Worms, Leech on Florida; Improved efficiency of live bait and cutbait for sharks; Added more Blue Marlin spawns on the deep waters. Issues we are aware of right now: The big "catchable" area of Florida requires more fish spawn points without dropping the performance and making loading times longer. This one is a complex task but we have an idea for it right now. Gray snapper icon showing black drum in the encyclopedia Hook prompt should have few options, so everyone can pick what they can Important note about Hook Prompt Hook prompt information has 3 states: Hook is too small Hook is too big Hook is proper The "check" for hook/lure size is only in a radius of 50m. That means, the system is checking only fish 50m from the hook/lure: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/28151491/0ceccf7df4cfada831cd091600c402450248adc6.png But besides hook size/lure size, you need to remember that each lure and bait attracts different fish. So if no fish meets hook/lure requirements, you will get the "user" smaller/bigger hook prompt but besides the hook/lure size, there is also a BAIT/LURE type. So if you are using for example a float with a big hook ex. #5/0 In the starting location, you will get a prompt about using smaller hooks as fish in that area, are not mostly not attracted by live bait or cutbait. So you need to remember about picking proper bait for the area you are fishing. Big fish are spawned in 95% of areas accessible only by boat. You can check the bait/lure-attracted fish list in each item section: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/28151491/939dbeb245b2c1b29886ff748e01d1ee06e4bbfa.png It is probably the last update today, as Christmas is starting and we would like to spend this 2-3 day with our families but you can always reach us on Discord and I will try to reply to you ASAP. With this update, you should instantly see way more fish just around the deck but the more fish we add in the starting location - the longer the loading time will be for the map. So this update will increase map loading some around 5 seconds. Ex. This week, we're diving into the realm of reef fish! Get ready to meet four remarkable species that bring the vibrant underwater landscape of Florida to life in our game. Each of these fish presents a unique challenge and adds a fascinating dimension to the fishing experience. Let's cast our lines and discover these amazing creatures! Great barracuda The Great Barracuda, the largest in the Sphyraena family, grows up to 2 meters and weighs as much as 50 kg. This formidable predator is known for its lightning-fast speed, capable of reaching bursts of 35 km/h (22 mph) when hunting. With sharp, fang-like teeth and a sleek body, it strikes with precision, making it a respected and somewhat feared figure in tropical and subtropical waters. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/28151491/cc86541fc864c0ac9cc7c96a92dd5cad0905a65c.png Red lionfish The Red Lionfish, a species known for its striking appearance, can grow up to 45.7 cm in length and weigh as much as 1.4 kg. This fish, easily identifiable by its bold red and white stripes and an array of venomous spines, is not just a visual marvel but also an ecological concern. Originally from the Indo-Pacific region, the Red Lionfish has become an invasive species in other parts of the world, notably in the Atlantic, where its voracious appetite and lack of natural predators have significantly impacted local marine ecosystems. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/28151491/e477c27399c1fc0e7245e796c76a70e08a924b00.png Atlantic tarpon An ancient species, swimming in our oceans since prehistoric times. This majestic fish, often growing to impressive sizes, has adapted unique survival techniques over the millennia. One of their most remarkable abilities is to gulp air directly from the surface in environments with low oxygen levels. This adaptation allows them to thrive in a variety of aquatic habitats, from shallow bays to open seas. The tarpon's longevity and resilience reflect its enduring presence in the marine ec...
